Subject: What Happened?

In regards to your gun show article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A46728-2001Dec14.html

Since when did the Washington Post start believing the dreck that the VPC shovels out?

When I see links to the WP, I expect to see informed and even handed journalism. This is just disgusting.

Please at least inform yourselves as to what exactly this bill will do to American gun shows. It will close them due to inane bureaucratic red tape. Allan Korwin says it all: http://www.gunlaws.com/McCainLieberman.htm

Do you know why it is easy to get firearms in the U.S.? Because we are a FREE nation. Free because of the blood spilled by our Founding Fathers and their sons to separate this country from the English. Free because of the original patriots this country had, not the flag wavers of today that ever since Sept. 11th felt the need to be 'in' and stick a flag on their car antenna. Free because the Founding Fathers knew a government that was by the people and for the people had nothing to fear of a nation of firearms owners. These days, government wants to use every scare tactic it can to take the firearms away from lawful citizens. Why? Makes you wonder if they are still "for the people" eh?

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." - Samuel Adams (1780)
