A recent report by ABC News that gun control groups are vowing to double down against incoming President Donald Trump if he pursues national concealed carry reciprocity only proves anti-gunners are more interested in citizen disarmament than in public safety, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said in response.

National concealed carry reciprocity simply would mean American citizens would no longer leave their right of self-defense at a state border, said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. The gun prohibition lobby needs to come clean and admit they dont care if law-abiding citizens cant defend themselves while traveling. Theyre not interested in public safety, only public disarmament.

Legislation to restrict firearms at polling places in Michigan is headed to Governor Gretchen Whitmers desk.

The state House of Representatives approved HB 4127 - which prohibits possession of firearms at a polling place while voting is taking place - as well as HB 4128 which prohibits firearms within 100 feet of an absentee ballot counting board while ballots are being counted. Both passed 56-53 along party lines.

Ok, so to start, I get that the article in question appeared in the New York Post, published in, of course New York City, where all things guns are strictly verboten, so a New Yorker is naturally going to get creative. But therein lies the problem: When trying to determine or write an article about the best self-defense tools available, there is clearly, one option that trumps all others. The others are nice, maybe even kinda cool. But none of them are a gun. A firearm in virtually any of its many designs and configurations is the best self-defense tool ever created by man and, some bumper sticker enthusiasts might argue, perfected by Samual Colt.

In the United States, only 35 states have Stand Your Ground laws in place, and Illinois is not one of them.

I spoke with Sangamon County States Attorney, John Milhiser, to break down the rules Illinois follows when it comes to homeowners protecting themselves.

Milhiser told me the state practices the statutory authority to self-defense.

On a warm Thursday in July, San Diego Democratic Rep. Juan Vargas (D-San Diego) was part of a Congressional delegation visiting Mexico's stunning presidential palace in the heart of Mexico City.

After a tour of the palace grounds, the lawmakers got down to business with current Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and her predecessor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

"We wanted to talk about drugs and fentanyl," Vargas said. "We wanted to talk about sewage in San Diego."

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced last week that her office was ending its investigation into whether comments President-elect Donald Trump made last month regarding Rep. Liz Cheney and guns constituted a threat.

"She's a radical war hawk," Trump said about Cheney to an audience of thousands attending a forum hosted by conservative commentator Tucker Carlson.

Hes warmer to lowering the age for long rifle purchases.
Of the many traditions Ben Albritton is continuing as Senate President, at least one isnt going to please Second Amendment purists.

He confirmed that like his predecessor, he will not support open carry legislation even if Gov. Ron DeSantis does.

Attorneys in the offices of Attorney General Kwame Raoul and Cook County States Attorney Kim Foxx made similar arguments in recent court filings as both defend bans on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines against constitutional challenges.

In separate cases at different levels of the federal court system, both offices are trying to make the case that the laws under challenge a state law enacted in 2023 and a county ordinance that dates to 1993 fall within the bounds of the U.S. Supreme Courts most recent interpretation of the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Voters sent an overwhelming message Nov. 5: They want the country to move in a new direction. The biggest change came at the top of the ticket, with President-elect Donald Trump defeating sitting Vice President Kamala Harris by taking the popular vote and a wide Electoral College margin of 312-226. The U.S. House of Representatives likely remains in Republican control, but the U.S. Senate flipped from Democratic control to a larger Republican majority.

Victims and family members of those killed in the 2022 mass shooting at the LGBTQIA+ Club Q in Colorado Springs have sued the El Paso County Board of Commissioners and others, alleging authorities could have prevented the shooting if they had enforced the states red flag law against the gunman.

The two lawsuits were filed on November 17, two days shy of the second anniversary of the attack. One was filed by the families of the dead victims and five victims themselves a second was filed by Barrett Hudson, who sustained seven gunshot wounds. Both suits were filed in US District Court.

Tennessee has some of the highest gun violence rates in the country, and some of the loosest gun laws. The state consistently ranks in the top 10 for rates of women killed by men. But no one is tracking how often those homicides are being committed by someone who is prohibited by law from having a gun.

WPLN and ProPublica set out to do just that identifying domestic violence homicide perpetrators and combing through hundreds of court records all to try to track the parts of our justice system have the power to intervene but dont.

With gift-buying season upon us, its natural for gun owners who enjoy target shooting, hunting, collecting or just plain plinking to want to share their enjoyment of firearms with others. What better way to do that than to gift a firearm to a family member, close friend or relative?

The first thing to remember if youre thinking about giving someone a gun is that ownership of a firearm brings with it serious responsibilities and legal obligations that other consumer products dont. So, lets look at some questions you may have about giving a firearm as a gift.

A month before the November presidential election, Gallup conducted a poll on Second Amendment and firearm issues. Predictably, the group reported that most Americans (56 percent) want more gun-control laws.

A month later, voters went to the polls and voted into office pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment candidates. This included the reelection of Donald Trump with his pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment agenda.

The Hawkeye State may limit the gun rights of people who have been involuntarily committed over mental health concerns, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled on Friday.

In a divided 4-3 decision, the states highest court upheld a lower court decision against a man who was denied a concealed carry permit because he was involuntarily committed as a teenager. It ruled that the states gun rights restoration process does not violate the states recently adopted constitutional arms protection.

The State has a compelling interest in preventing gun violence and suicide, Justice Thomas Waterman wrote for the majority.

Okay, the November election is history and we should know by now how every race in the country turned out. So, while we stand down temporarily to celebrate the holidays, Second Amendment defenders mustnt let their guard down because the gun prohibition movement is not taking time off.

You need to roll up your sleeves and get ready for battle because its coming.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
"Let us contemplate our forefathers, and posterity, and resolve to maintain the rights bequeathed to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. The necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that `if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.' It is a very serious consideration...that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." --Samuel Adams, speech in Boston, 1771
