Author Stephen Hunter is national treasure for his technical and tactile laden hero ensconced narratives profiling the honorable journeys of main character Bob Lee Swagger. As Hunter weaves a daunting amount of fact into each plot, his humor and wit is also apparent in taking to task individuals and entities attempting to diminish Constitutional freedoms.

On the heels of a nationwide disruption of the 911 emergency services system, a Washington State-based national gun rights group declared the crash to be a reminder that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms has hardly outlived its usefulness, which is bitterly ironic to young adults who will see their Second Amendment-protected right to bear arms impaired and infringed due to passage of an anti-gun initiative in November.

On an afternoon in October, as he lay outside his fathers Boynton Beach towing company gasping for air, Charles Cook III told his family he was going to die. They were like no youll be OK, you were just shot in the arm but I could feel it in my chest, he said. I kept saying I cant breathe and then it all went black.

Corporal Ronil Singh is dead, apparently murdered by a gangmember who was here illegally, and who stayed here illegally despite having been busted twice for DUIs. Thank you for ensuring that happened, Democrats. And thank you too, Fredocons, for so ably doing the bidding of your corporate donor cronies who desperately want to keep the foreigner spigot open.

Chicago saw a significant drop in murders and gun violence for the second year in a row, according to police. Across the city, there were 100 fewer murders than in 2017, when 650 people were killed. Overall crime is down 10% since 2016, the year Chicago recorded its highest murder rate in two decades, with 762 people killed. Chicago Police credit the drop in violence partly to "investments in data-driven policing and the creation of strategic decision support centers in 20 of the city's 22 police districts," according to a Chicago police news release.

For 38 consecutive years, Doug Duitman and Kent Botsford have traveled 517 miles from their Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, home to hunt the fields of South Dakota for pheasants. With the traditional pheasant hunting season nearing its end, Duitman and Botsford noted some advantages of hunting toward the end of the season and made sure to get their hunting fix before the season officially concludes Jan. 6, 2019.

Since I have been employed in the professional-protection industry as an edged-weapons and firearms instructor for more than 30 years, I am often asked about self-defense with a knife versus self-defense with a handgun. Turns out there are more similarities than differencesespecially when it comes to deploying either with one hand.

Ill admit, when I first began thinking on this topic, I had pretty strong feelings towards womens only classes and their place within the industry. While I have always felt they are useful at the introductory level, I have questioned the efficiency as students move past the early stages in their gun journey into the mid-level and advanced arenas. To me, the question became are womens only classes really needed past a certain point and do they limit women?

Washington voters and the federal government this year delivered big changes to the states background-check system designed to keep people who are not allowed to have guns from buying them. In the face of those changes, state lawmakers and at least one law enforcement group are now discussing how to adapt and possibly reshape a system that has been called confusing and overly complicated.

Hang your chemistry and electricity! If you want to make a pile of money, invent something that will enable these Europeans to cut each-others throats with greater facility. This is the sage advice that American-born inventor Hiram Maxim received during a trip to Vienna in 1882. Maxim wasted little time putting his creative mind into action, following up on the financial and ultimately firearm-related advice.

Buckeye deer gun hunters who still havent bagged a whitetail will have one more chance to put venison in the freezer. That will be on Jan. 5-8 when the deer muzzleloader season happens. Its never an easy season, but savvy hunters can still do well. Obviously, the remaining animals that have survived early archery and the deer gun season are going to be difficult to kill.

Metal Madness recently announced that starting next year it will be a rimfire-only shooting sport. The new rule goes into effect on January 1, 2019. This new proclamation makes sense, since 99 percent of Metal Madness participants are shooting rimfire guns, mostly due to the lower costs involved. The move to rimfire only will surely streamline match administration processes, making it easier to conduct matches so the focus can be on shooters having a good time.

I am against any changes in antler point restrictions. Other than does and bucks, I think the number of antler points should totally be done away with. Let the hunters pick the ones they want to harvest. We have entirely too many deer in the state of Michigan as evidenced by all the carcasses laying across the roads. We need to be increasing the harvest, and that includes yearlings on up.

The Firearms Guide gets bigger and better each year the guide includes 73,000 guns, 1110 manufacturers, from 52 countries and 8000 printable schematics. The trick is learning how to page through it as there is so much information it can take a bit of time until you figure out how to navigate the tool. All of this info is stored on a flash drive making it easier to store because of its convenient size. You can carry it on a keychain since it is so compact. A book containing all of the info and pictures included would require a couple of large hardcopy volumes.
