The 7.62x39 mm shooter should consider handloading to ensure a steady supply of accurate, high-performance loads and to achieve shot-to-shot consistency. Best results can be expected when bullets are selected that properly match the bore dimensions. The unassuming 7.62x39 mm (M43) cartridge is likely more popular today than ever. Technological advancements in components and the introduction of high-quality firearms chambered for the cartridge during the past few years alone have renewed interest in the Soviet stalwart. As such, its prudent to revisit it

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy on Tuesday rolled out the first legislative initiative of his last year in office: A ban on the bump-stock accessories that enabled the Las Vegas shooter to convert a dozen semi-automatic rifles into machine guns he used in an assault that killed 58 and wounded 500 in 11 minutes. Malloy, 62, a Democrat winding down two terms in office as one of the most unpopular incumbent governors in the U.S., said neither his lame-duck status nor Connecticuts continuing budget issues would limit his agenda for the three-month General Assembly session that opens Feb. 7.

Federal Premium Ammunition has announced a new personal-defense option, the Hydra-Shok Deep, which provides up to 50 percent deeper penetration than original Hydra-Shok. Original Hydra-Shok has been a self-defense staple since its creation in 1989 in response to the FBIs request for a projectile with better terminal ballistics than traditional cup-and-core bullets. The Hydra-Shok bullets notched jacket, non-bonded lead core and unique center-post hollow-point design produced better penetration and more consistent threat-stopping expansion than other bullets at the time.

A gun law passed by the General Assembly in 2014 has caused DeKalb Countys security costs to jump roughly 73 percent, according to Police Chief James Conroy. He said the county spent roughly $600,000 more on security costs in 2017 compared to three years prior, mainly because it needs more armed guards patrolling public spaces. The 2014 measure, which Gov. Nathan Deal signed into law, allows concealed weapon permit holders to carry their guns inside most government facilities.

One would think that with the Right virtually controlling all levers of government, gun grabber demands to chip away at our common sense civil rights would be met with admonitions that they go play in the traffic. But alas, RINOs being RINOs they knuckled under to these demands and passed off this issue to unelected bureaucrats and the intended consequences of the slippery slope.

Another firearm crime, another call for more gun lawslaws that would do nothing to reduce crime but would make it more difficult for law-abiding people to acquire guns for sport or defense. This time, one mainstream media outlet actually made that point. Paul Muschick, a reporter for The Morning Call, isnt always on the right side of the gun debate, but in a recent The Watchdog column, he brought a key argument to light.
