Handgun cartridge naming is an aspect of firearm ownership that can be confusing to new shooters at first and if you decide to get yourself a full-size Sig Sauer 1911 or Glock 21, you might note on the barrel that it says, 45 Auto. Excited to get some ammo for your new sidearm, you peruse the gun store shelves and are dismayed to only find boxes labeled, 45 ACP.

Bond Arms of Granbury, Texas always manages to expand their selection of eye-catching derringers every year. About a year ago, I reported on the new, skinny Stinger model, then in 9mm and 380. In late 2022/early 2023, the Bond factory released two new guns, both chambered in 22LR; the caliber most everyone loves to shoot. I had the good fortune to test both at home as well as on the indoor range of Texas Star, a shop located in Grapevine, Texas. Heres how it went with the Bond Arms Rawhide and Stinger.

A Frangible bullet is a projectile that breaks into powder or fragments upon hitting the target and does not penetrate or does not penetrate deeply. Frangible hollow-point bullets may penetrate clothing, drywall, or thin sheet metal but then disintegrate upon striking harder objects like glass. By design, Frangibles often disintegrate into very small particles when impacting the target. These small particles are slowed rapidly by air resistance, so they are less likely to cause injury, death, or damage to people and/or objects upon impact. Frangible bullets are often made of malleable lead and copper and tend to have minimal to no ricochet, especially from hard targets.

I have a problem that has perplexed me for the last three years concerning the Ruger Mark IV Target .22 LR pistol I shoot for Steel Challenge competition and just ringing steel for fun. In cleaning this gun over the last three years, I have yet to come out with a clean patch at the end of my cleaning sessions. One time I even cleaned it for two hours at a time for three days with still no clean patch at the end. I have used many cleaning products in the past, including Kroil, Montana Extreme Copper Killer, acetone, brake cleaner and JB Compound.

Almost all shooters and hunters are plenty familiar with how Old West cowboys acquired both a long gun and handgun in the same chambering. That combination was most likely a lever-action rifle and a single-action revolver. A few popular pairings would have been traditional handgun rounds like the .44/40 Winchester, .45 Colt, and .32-20 Winchester. |

Rep. Adam Schnelting has filed House Bill 282 and Sen. Nick Schroer has filed Senate Bill 224. These bills ensure that law-abiding citizens may carry firearms for self-defense on public transit. The House has passed similar legislation in previous sessions, but the Senate always failed to do their part to send such critical self-defense legislation to the governors desk. Please contact your lawmakers and ask them to SUPPORT HB 282 and SB 224.

She spun up the anti-gun rights advocacy org, thanks to endless tongue baths plenty of favorable coverage from the like-minded media.

This year, there are plenty of shotguns to get excited about. Mossberg has a whole raft of turkey guns, including several optic-ready pumps, and RemArms expands its 870 FieldMaster line to include 20-gauges and synthetic stocks. And there are new inertia guns from Retay and Sauer, too. |
