Why have there been any more school murders in the USA since the attack at Columbine High School two decades ago? Violent attacks arent a mystery. We know why murderers kill. We know the kind of targets they want.
We also know how to prevent and how to respond to these attacks. Why havent we adopted the measures that save our students?
We have not stopped these rampages because the news media and political special-interests feed on mass murder. |

The National Rifle Associations Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) is backing two bills in the Indiana State Legislature that would give law-abiding Hoosiers greater opportunities to defend themselves.
HB 1643 introduced by Rep. Ben Smaltz (R-52) would expand self-defense options in the following ways:
eliminate state fees for a lifetime state License to Carry a Handgun (LTCH); allow law-abiding gun owners greater ability to carry for self-protection in churches; allow gun owners to register to vote when they apply for a LTCH. |

Police say the suspect was found a block away with a gun shot wound to the neck, fatally shot by a woman acting in self-defense.
Local media in Chicago report that the unidentified 25-year-old woman was waiting at a bus stop at 103rd and Wallace in the Fernwood neighborhood early Tuesday morning when 19-year-old Laavion Goings, armed with a handgun, tried to rob her.
A concealed carry permit holder, the woman drew her own gun and shot the man, who fled the scene and was later declared dead at an area hospital. Goings, who was shot one time according to the Chicago Sun-Times, had reportedly had contact with police in the past. |

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), cosponsored the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, legislation to allow Louisianans with concealed carry permits to exercise their right to carry in any other state with concealed carry laws, while abiding by that states laws.
This legislation empowers law-abiding Americans to exercise their Second Amendment right to defend themselves while respecting each states law, said Dr. Cassidy. The ability to protect yourself and your family should not end at the Louisiana border. |

The Standard Manufacturing S333 Volleyfire is unlike any other revolver on the market today because it features two barrels that both fire simultaneously with a single pull of the trigger. This sends two .22 WMR rounds downrange simultaneously, doubling the stopping power of each shot and mitigating the disastrous consequences of a misfire. If one round doesn't ignite, odds are the second one will. Unlike a semi-automatic firearm, a dud in one of the cylinders doesn't impede functioning, thanks to the gun's double-action operation. |

A camera on the front uses artificial intelligence to detect if a gun is pointed at a person, crowd, animal or target.
If aimed at a person or crowd, the gun limits the amount of times you can pull the trigger.
You still are allowed to do one bullet every 20 seconds so you still are allowed to use self-defense so its still going to work, said Shahid.
GPS on the gun would create geo-fences, stopping it from firing in certain locations like schools and churches. |

A Video from attorney Alex Kincaid makes the crucial point that laws for involuntary civil commitment already take of the issue addressed by so-called Red Flag laws.
So-called Red Flag laws or Extreme Risk Protection Orders are all the rage in the far lefts gun confiscation agenda. A new video from attorney Alex Kincaid points out that there are already laws on the books to cover situations such as the Parkland mass murderer. That Every state in this country already has a set of laws that allow law enforcement to take away firearms from people by civilly committing them. |

"The city of Austin cannot defy Texas' licensed carry laws, or any state law enacted by the Texas Legislature, simply because it disagrees with the law or feels like ignoring it," Paxton said in a prepared statement. "I will always vigilantly protect and preserve the Second Amendment rights of Texans, and I'm hopeful the Travis County district court will uphold Texas' open carry law passed by the people's representatives."
Paxton previously filed a lawsuit in July 2016 against the City of Austin after a resident with a concealed gun permit complained of being turned away from City Hall on several occasions. |

But, my fights have not been confined to Florida. Roughly twenty years ago, I was engaged in another battle. This time it was a fight for the leadership of the NRA. Wayne LaPierre was on one side.
On the other side was Neal Knox Jeff Knoxs late father. As some of you may remember, I was the President of the NRA at that time. Many may have been too young to remember.
Jeff is correct that Wayne won the confidence of the NRA Board of Directors during that battle. But, Jeff fails to disclose that it was his father, Neal Knox, who was trying to oust Wayne and who engaged in an all-out, no holds barred, brutal fight in his failed attempt to take control of the NRA. |

Virginias Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam sees an opening, and its not an insane push this time. With Republican majorities in the state legislature vastly chipped away, hes laying the groundwork to import Maryland-style gun control in the Old Dominion. Its right in the National Rifle Associations backyard. So, if this is successful, and it very well could be, itll be a political and propaganda win for the anti-gun Left. |

I might buy a gun.
Id need a permit. And lessons on how to shoot, a place to keep it safe, and a way to overcome the fear that Id shoot myself.
Im not a natural gun owner. Im more likely to be holding a knitting needle than a Glock but recent events have made me rethink my natural aversion to weapons, an aversion that has nothing to do with philosophical opposition and everything to do with my own physical incompetence. |

Steven Predmore, 24, is charged with shooting Alex Marsicano, 25, of Pocono Pines, in the calves during a December 2015 confrontation outside Marsicanos ex-girlfriends Chestnuthill Township residence. Marsicano was retreating with his back turned to Predmore when Predmore fired several shots from a 9mm pistol.
Predmore then drove away in his truck while Marsicano contacted a friend who then took him to the hospital. Calling the shooting self-defense, Predmore was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a gun without a license.
The county court granted Predmores June 2016 petition for the attempted-murder charge to be dismissed. |

On behalf of our more than 5 million members across the country, the National Rifle Associations Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today applauded the introduction of S. 69, The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2019, sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn (TX).
The current patchwork of state and local gun laws is confusing and can cause the most conscientious gun owner to unknowingly run afoul of the law when they are traveling or temporarily living away from home, said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA-ILA. Sen. Cornyns legislation provides a much-needed solution to a real problem for law-abiding gun owners. |

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey recently joined a coalition of 18 states urging the U.S. Supreme Court to consider a case with implications for the Second Amendment.
The coalitions recent filing raises the argument that governments at all levels have enacted laws eroding the Second Amendment rights of citizens, and without guidance from a higher court, appeals courts have allowed such laws to stand.
The case challenges the constitutionality of a federal law prohibiting firearms dealers from selling handguns to out-of-state consumers. A U.S. District Court ruled such a ban was unconstitutional, but the decision was later overturned by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
To trust arms in the hands of the people at large has, in Europe, been believed...to be an experiment fraught only with danger. Here by a long trial it has been proved to be perfectly harmless...If the government be equitable; if it be reasonable in its exactions; if proper attention be paid to the education of children in knowledge and religion, few men will be disposed to use arms, unless for their amusement, and for the defence of themselves and their country. Timothy Dwight, Travels in New England and New York [London 1823] |
