The soft point cutting edge bullet (SPCE) is essentially a modified semi-jacketed bullet thats been designed to expand in a very controlled fashion. Unlike a standard soft-point or hollow point where the core is often bonded with the casing, this bullet doesnt lock the lead core in completely. Some call it water bottle ammo, because the point of the bullet is vaguely designed similar to a pet hamsters water bottle. The core isnt bonded to the casing, allowing a different style of expansion and penetration.

Back in 1995, Bryan Range pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining $2,458 in food stamps by misrepresenting his income. He returned the money, paid a $100 fine and $288 in court costs, and served three years of probation. Although Range did not realize it, that Pennsylvania misdemeanor conviction also came with a lifelong penalty: He lost his constitutional right to keep and bear arms. His case, which the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit will hear next month, poses the question of whether that policy, which prohibits gun ownership by millions of Americans with no history of violence, violates the Second Amendment.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed the weapons assault bill Tuesday night after legislatures recently passed the ban in both House and Senate. For the past four years, my administration and my colleagues in the State Capitol have been battling the powerful forces of the NRA to enshrine the strongest and most effective gun violence legislation that we possibly can, said Gov. JB Pritzker. I couldnt be prouder to say that we got it done. And we will keep fighting bill by bill, vote by vote, and protest by protest to ensure that future generations only hear about massacres like Highland Park, Sandy Hook, and Uvalde in their textbooks.

After a devastating blow at the Supreme Court last year, blue state gun control advocates are advancing new laws to try and circumvent the ruling but finding themselves back in court almost as quickly as they do. If the pace of the proceedings continues, Second Amendment advocates say the high court will almost certainly need to step in again.

The gun control movement likes to portray itself as successful, even when it is constantly losing the gun control debate. Shannon Watts is stepping down from Moms Demand Action, the grass-roots advocacy group that has taken off with the help of billionaire Michael Bloomberg. As such, she has received a gushing profile in the Washington Post about her and the billionaire-funded grassroots group, where the outlet seems to assume the gun control movement has been winning in politics for the last several years because of how brave and organized she is.

Local news reports were correct that this gentleman did nothing wrong after shooting and killing a would-be-armed robber in self-defense. The man has been hailed a hero for gunning down a criminal who robbed patrons of a local Houston taco establishment. However, the firearm used was fakethe threat of violence and bodily harm was real, which makes this a justifiable homicide.

In September of last year, Springfield Armory made waves when they announced their new pistol: the 1911 DS Prodigy. The Springfield Prodigy is offered in 4.25- and 5-inch models and was immediately seen as heaven-sent by some; a general-production, more-affordable 2011-style 9mm pistol for the masses. Others viewed the new pistol with incredulity, not believing it to be worth the vaunted 2011 designation. My only certainty was that I wanted to test it for myself.

Maybe guns arent your thing, and thats OK. Maybe you recently inherited your grandfathers treasured shogun. While it might have been important to him, maybe its not something youd be interested in using or even keeping around the house. If youre thinking of selling your guns to a government-run so-called "buyback" program, Ive got one word of advice: Dont! First of all, you wont be actually selling them. Youll be turning them in to be destroyed, and that is a difference.

The tiny .410 bore may be the smallest caliber shotgun widely available to the public, but it is still an incredibly effective hunting tool. Countless generations of hunters have gotten their start with a .410 thanks to the round's low recoil. In recent years, advancements to .410 ammo have increased the speed, power, and effectiveness of these tiny shotshells all without creating a larger blow to the wallet. It's not uncommon to find factory .410s for less than 50 cents per round these days, which is something in this economy. You can't even get a candy bar for that these days.

Arguably the most famous handgun in history is the Colt Single Action Army revolver. Others might vote for the P-08 Luger, or Colt 1911, or even the Walther PPK, but lets face it, Hollywood made it possible for the big Colt Peacemaker to be seen everywhere movies have been shown or television is received. And, thats nigh on everywhere!

That wonderful year was 1953. I was a freshman in high school and Bill Ruger brought out his first revolver that would be the beginning of a sixgun dynasty. My allowance had been raised from 25 cents to 50 cents a week, so other than a Cherry Coke after school or a new reflector for the mudflap on my bike, there was no money left for something as expensive as the $63.25 Ruger Single-Six .22.

Two sets of handloading data exist for the .45 Colt, due to the myriad guns chambered for the cartridge during the last 150 years. For this load, I referenced .45 Colt (Revolver) data that, may be used in older guns as long as they are in good condition.

Fifteen Washington State Democrat members of the state House of Representatives wasted no time launching an anticipated effort to repeal the Evergreen States nearly-40-year-old model preemption law, threatening a system of gun law uniformity that has been upheld in the state courts more than once.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The NRA has a point about the inadvisability of simply taking guns away from the populace. If that were possible, it would not disarm that small percentage of the population willing to break the law.... Punishing people who obey the law is backward thinking. Hugh Downs, Veteran ABC newsman
