Unacceptable Police Procedure- the Deadly Game of Simon Says

Innocent civilians are at risk from the police. Weve had egregious examples in recent months. This is how we can fix these broken police policies, and this is why its urgent.

The police treat possible threats as lethal threats. They then kill unarmed and innocent civilians without warning. The murder is often preceded by a lethal game of simon-says where the police issue commands until the innocent civilian makes a mistake and is killed. In several fatal examples, there were no actual threats of any kind to the police officers involved.

Wagners about-face came after attorney and blogger Joshua Prince described the governors declaration as seemingly triggering the firearm prohibitions found in 18 Pa.C.S section 6107 during declared emergencies. His blog post, shared on social media, was titled, With a Stroke of a Pen, PA Governor Wolf Limits Firearm Rights by Proclaiming State of Emergency.

However J.J. Abbott, a spokesman for Gov. Wolf, responded to an email inquiry from the Public Opinion Thursday that such suggestions are "flat-out wrong."

The Alabama Legislative Session convened this week.

Legislators have some budgetary issues to take on this session, such as prison reform and the children's health insurance program but the introduction of a bill which aims to protect and enhance your second amendment rights has many talking, some for, some against.

Senate bill 3, sponsored by senator Gerald Allen, would repeal the permit requirement for the carrying of firearms.

It would allow any law-abiding adult who can legally possess a firearm to carry a handgun for self-defense in Alabama without having to first obtain a permit to do so.

Brand new from Springfield Armory is what the company is calling the Hammer, otherwise known as the XD-E. In short the XD-E could be described as a hammer-fired version (the E stands for external hammer) of Springfields popular striker-fired XD-S compact. But thats not completely accurateor the full story. Before I get into the reasons for the XD-Es invention, lets look at its specs.

The XD-E is currently offered only in 9mm and is a DA/SA auto intended for self-defense, including concealed carry. For those of you new to firearms, DA/SA is shorthand for double action/single action. In this design, the first round can be fired like a double-action revolver, with the trigger pull cocking the hammer and firing the gun.

Evolution of the shooting sports has been progressing for hundreds of years, but the most recent innovations have taken ballistic performance far above what was available a generation ago. While I would find it satisfying to be proven wrong, I suspect that, as of 2017, we have approached the limit of feasible performance in conventional guns and ammunition. This applies to all shooting sports and disciplines, including shotgun, handgun, self-defense and hunting. To highlight this, I will offer a few thoughts and examples centering on varminting.

And it should not be overlooked that the employee who fatally shot the intruder was licensed to carry a firearm.

Sadly, there is no one to blame for this loss of life but the individual who chose to commit a crime.

In the meantime, the state needs laws to legally protect those who must sometimes resort to lethal force to protect themselves, others and their property. This type of criminal act is precisely why such laws are needed.

The two teens were later arrested, but prosecutors declined to file charges, saying Floridas Stand Your Ground Law would make it difficult to prove the case to a jury. The self-defense law eliminates a person's duty to retreat before using deadly force.

Miami anti-gunviolence activist Tangela Sears prompted a heated a discussion on Facebook this week when she asked in light of the park shooting, Should the parade be canceled?

Gun-rights advocacy groups will be asking the West Virginia Legislature to allow for the concealed carry of guns on state college and university campuses.

The proposed campus-carry legislation is one of two firearms-related bills being requested by the National Rifle Association and West Virginia Citizens Defense League during the 2018 session.

Art Thomm, a lobbyist with the NRA, said one in three women in college can expect to be a victim of sexual violence, and he believes women should have the right to arm themselves as protection.

To have the ability for people to protect themselves everywhere they go but school is ludicrous, Thomm said.

Keith Morgan, president of the Citizens Defense League, agreed.

NovX, a new ammunition company, uses a blend of interesting technologies to redefine what you might expect from a defensive round. When the bullet hits any liquid-based product, the projectiles flutes allow the round to spin so quickly that you end up with a Venturi effect that breaks the liquid sound barrier.

Second Amendment advocacy groups are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a California county's ban on gun stores.

Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation says SAF is fighting an Alameda County ordinance that uses zoning laws to keep out firearms stores.

Alameda has a population of approximately 1.6 million and includes the county seat of Oakland and famously far-left Berkeley.

"There is no place to buy a gun in Alameda County," Gottlieb says, "and so the Second Amendment Foundation, along with Calguns Foundation and other organizations and individuals, filed suit."

Residents of the Cornhusker state wont have to worry about paying more for their right to carry a firearm this year.

Despite arguments that an increase would help counties cover the rising cost of processing permit applications, legislators voted 27-17 to keep the fee at $5, thus relieving law-abiding gun owners of any additional financial burden for exercising their Second Amendment-protected right.

In Edward Garrett's eyes, the time, energy and money it took for him to get a pistol permit, were reasons enough to challenge the state law.

The chairman of the Erie County Libertarian Party got his answer this week: the 106-year old law stands.

A federal judge dismissed the Libertarians' legal challenge and pointed to the pistol permit's role in ensuring that "only law-abiding, responsible citizens" are allowed to own guns.

"Moreover, the laws promote public safety and prevent gun violence," Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci Jr. wrote in his decision.

The court decision came on the same day Erie County lawmakers urged Governor Cuomo to extend the deadline for pistol permit recertifications.

Senate Bill 5992, to be introduced to the state Legislature, would ban a gun parts intended to increase the weapons rate of fire.

The proposed statute includes a ban on products that produce rapid bursts or other trigger functions. This includes bump stocks, devices that can be attached to a semi automatic weapon to increase its firing rate. A trigger crank is a similar device that also increases a firearms rate. Turning the crank allows a user to discharge several shots per revolution.

In a stunning development further underscoring the corruption that exists at the highest levels of the federal government, U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro threw out felony conspiracy and weapons charges against rancher Cliven Bundy, sons Ammon and Ryan, and co-defendant Ryan Payne. The governments conduct in this case was indeed outrageous, Navarro explained. There has been flagrant misconduct, substantial prejudice and no lesser remedy is sufficient.

How outrageous? Navarro dismissed the case with prejudice meaning the government cannot try the case again on the same charges.

The Jan. 7 World-Herald article Nebraska lawmaker hopes to broker compromises in his effort to end local gun regulations should have had a different headline.

It would be more accurate if it had read NRA and others hope to force their extreme version of gun rights legislation on the will of Nebraska cities and citizens.

The intent of Legislative Bill 68 is to end the ability of local governments to pass and enforce gun regulations.
