The 28 gauge shotgun shell, while over a hundred years old, is the up-and-coming round in the shotgun world. Its used in both skeet shooting and upland bird hunting, and provides a valuable alternative to the traditional in both.

Although not as popular as other small bore shotgun shells, the 28 gauge is capable, effective, and easy to shoot. It continues to grow in popularity and more shooters find a use for it year after year, primarily due to the instinctual way firearms chambered for the round fire.

The Michigan House voted Tuesday to let Michigan residents over the age of 18 possess and use stun guns for defense.

The legislation would lift part of the states ban on the use of portable electric devices designed to injure, kill or temporarily incapacitate.

The legislation was inspired by Detroit-area residents who approached northern Michigan State Rep. Michele Hoitenga looking a non-lethal method of self defense, said Hoitenga, the Manton Republican who sponsored the bill.

"For somebody who does not want to conceal carry, this is something that allows them a non-lethal form of self-protection," Hoitenga said.

Since the start of the year, Washington State has added almost 37,000 active concealed pistol licenses including the 6,734 added just during November, which suggests just because the states political tilt is dominated by liberal Seattle and the I-5 corridor, an increasing number of people are not ready to surrender their safety.

Over the past five years, since December 2014, the state has added more than 170,300 CPLs, according to records from the state Department of Licensing. Back on Dec. 31, there were 608,460 active licenses.

Two gun-rights advocates are challenging a state law banning the sale and possession of stun guns and Tasers as an infringement on their rights to bear arms under the Second Amendment. Michael P. ONeil, vice president of the Rhode Island Second Amendment Coalition, and Nicola Grasso, former president of the Rhode Island Federated Sportsmens Association, late last month sued Attorney General Peter F. Neronha and Rhode Island State Police Col. James M. Manni in their official capacities over a state law barring the possession and attempted use of stun guns and electric arms. Alleged violators face up to a year in prison and a $1,000 fine, as well as the confiscation of their weapons.

NYC's Successful Defense of Its Arbitrary Restrictions on Transporting Handguns Highlights Judicial Disrespect for the Second Amendment

New York's uniquely onerous restrictions on transporting guns were so hard to justify that the city stopped trying. Instead, it rewrote the rules after the Supreme Court agreed to consider a constitutional challenge to them, and now it argues that the case is moot. Despite the obvious vulnerability of New York's regulations, the city successfully defended them for five years, obtaining favorable rulings from a federal judge and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said Tuesday that gun restrictions approved by the city of Columbia earlier this year should be repealed because they violate both state law and the Second Amendment. In September, the Columbia City Council approved a red-flag ordinance that would enable police to seize firearms from residents who are deemed to be an extreme risk. At the same meeting, another ordinance was approved prohibiting possession of firearms within 1,000 feet of private or public schools in the city.

As local governments continue to propose or enact Second Amendment sanctuaries, a question remains: What is a Second Amendment sanctuary? Virginia Beach-based attorney Timothy Anderson took to Facebook to explain what it is through videos. "Sanctuary zones are going to say, 'Fine, we're not going to use our resources,' but that doesn't mean the state can't do it," Anderson told News 3. "It just means the local sheriff's office and local police departments won't use those resources to prosecute those cases."

Counties across the state of Virginia are passing Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions in anticipation of strict gun control measures planned by the majority-held Democratic Virginia General Assembly. As the debate over gun rights continues in Virginia, many people in Roanoke continued to react to Mondays loud and outburst-filled city council meetings. Roanoke became the first city in Virginia to discuss and reject the idea of a 2nd Amendment sanctuary status, which would have been a pledge to stand up against new gun laws. Amherst Countys decision on Tuesday to adopt a similar resolution made it another county in the commonwealth to do so.

We gun nuts have long had our eyes on New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. New York City, a challenge to one of the Big Apples myriad limits on firearm ownership. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the case yesterday, and hopes run high for the new conservative majority but the litigation could still end with a whimper. Until recently, New Yorkers with premises licenses were hardly allowed to leave the house with their guns. They couldnt even bring their weapons, locked and unloaded, to a second home, or to a shooting range outside the city. That would take a carry license, which is effectively impossible to get in New York without friends in high places.

Its Never Enough: Gun Control Advocates Wont Ever Be Satisfied With Marginal Changes to Our Gun Laws

When seeking to pass whatever the anti-gun flavor of the month is when it comes to gun legislation, anti-gun advocates often claim to be seeking only reasonable solutions. They often claim that if just one more marginal restriction on our rights is enacted, then we will be safer. Nowhere was this more evident than earlier this year when anti-gun advocates and members of Congress worked to pass two anti-gun bills through the House of Representatives. That fight involved what gun control supporters frequently claim is the most reasonable of all gun control laws, H.R. 8, the so-called universal background check bill.

MI: Second Amendment sanctuary county

Jan. 14 at the service center the county board will meet in a committee of the whole to discuss my resolution to make Delta County a Second Amendment sanctuary county. As an elected county commissioner, I have taken my oath of office five times now, and its something I take very seriously. I promised to uphold and defend the Constitutions of the U.S. and the state of Michigan.

I have asked to hear from people, and have heard from them in mass. There is nothing in my resolution that would attempt to weaken or change any existing laws of the state or federal governments. I support responsible gun ownership for law abiding citizens.

Guns dont kill people; people kill people.

The title of this piece might be the only sentence about guns that advocates on both sides of this issue can agree upon until they start listening to one another.

Admittedly, I am not a gun expert and have no desire to own a gun, but Ive taken the time to research, ask questions, and consider what it would mean for Delta County to be a Second Amendment Sanctuary County, as Commissioner David Moyle is proposing. The most important thing I did while writing this article was calling Mr. Moyle. We had a polite conversation about a controversial issue; would you believe there is a lot we agree on?

California Senator Kamala Harris has dropped her bid to win the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, having plummeted in the polls to 2 percent in the most recent survey by Harris and The Hill. Her decision was confirmed by Politico Tuesday. That makes one less anti-gunner on the presidential campaign trail, joining Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA), Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, Sen. Kristin Gillibrand (D-NY), former Congressman Robert Francis Beto ORourke and others.

How on Earth did we end up with people like Lisa Page and all of her cohorts, all of whom thought it was in their purview to take out a presidential candidate they did not like and then to sabotage his presidency once inaugurated? Who raised these people; who were their parents? Where did they go to college and learn that this kind of abrogation of the Constitution is in their "purview"?

The Greenup County Fiscal Court passed a resolution on Tuesday, joining the growing list of Kentucky counties passing similar resolutions in support of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Proposed gun regulations and gun bans, such as those proposed in the state of Virginia, have sparked the support of such resolutions. Many have voiced the opinion that such proposed gun laws are attacks not only on the Second Amendment, but also on individual freedoms in general.

Amid a growing national drive in some 20 states to provide gun sanctuaries in areas where calls are increasing for new controls, gun policy has become the second most extremely important issue in the 2020 elections. In the latest Gallup survey, gun policy is tied at 34% with terrorism and national security as the second issue voters call extremely important. Healthcare barely edges gun control out as No. 1, with 35% calling it extremely important."

In an unhinged effort to attack Virginians Second Amendment rights, one member of the Michael Bloomberg-bought General Assembly is willing to undermine a bipartisan policy advanced by the previous Democratic governor and target one of the states most law-abiding constituencies. H.B. 569, introduced by New Jersey native Dan Helmer (HD-40), targets Right-to-Carry permit holders by curtailing Virginias reciprocity regime.

A person can be rational, but people, overall, are irrational and driven by fear. As we become more and more inundated with news, any bad news will be amplified with Facebook shares, news alerts, and the usual flood of thoughts and prayers which inevitably start 5 minutes after the first news report. Ever since the unholy merging of the 24-hour news cycle and the internet, its been a downhill slide to a world of fearmongering and obsession, especially regarding gun control. To make things even more difficult, we are also surrounded by a myriad of fake news and knee-jerk headlines which causes the public to become further disconnected from the truth, while oddly claiming to be woke.

Youre probably hearing a lot of news coming out of Virginia. And with good reason. The new legislature is being sworn in, and major gun control including confiscation of rifles and handguns is on the agenda. Michael Bloomberg spent millions of dollars in Virginia to mobilize less than 5,000 voters in strategic districts, and that was enough to change both houses of the Virginia legislature to Democrat control.

The Michigan House approved a plan Tuesday to allow residents to possess stun guns. Concealed pistol license holders can possess a Taser after the Court of Appeals ruled in 2012 that banning Tasers and stun guns violates the second amendment. Stun guns are still banned. Stun guns and Tasers are often confused with one another -- a stun gun must make contact with a person to shock them, while a Taser shoots barbs about 15-30 feet.

A murderer walked into a Texas church. That was neither the first time, nor will it be the last time that evil men and women want to kill our brothers and sisters at church.

Our churches have a lot to do. We cant blame them for not solving problems they dont understand. Help starts with a simple question..and you deserve an answer.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again. EDWARD GIBBON [On ancient Athens]
