On Dec. 12, a woman walked into the 8th District police station in the French Quarter to report that her ex-boyfriend had threatened to kill her on a 2 a.m. drive into New Orleans East. �Love kills,� Kody Severin said as he pointed a gun at her face, she told police a week later.

Republican lawmakers and gun rights groups blasted the Biden administration over a new rule that tightens regulations on pistol stabilizing braces. The Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives (ATF) finalized a new regulation Friday that will treat guns with stabilizing accessories like short-barreled rifles, which require a federal license to own under the National Firearms Act.

The Napa City Council on Tuesday is set to hear a report on a potential ordinance to require safe storage of firearms when they�re not in use. The presentation on safe gun storage, a report by Napa Police Chief Jennifer Gonzales, comes after the unanimous approval in August of such an ordinance by the St. Helena City Council. Napa could become the second city in Napa County to pass such an ordinance; an increasing number of cities in nearby counties � such as Berkeley, San Francisco, Davis, Woodland, Morgan Hill and Petaluma � have been passing safe storage ordinances over the past year.

Since the archery season�s start in late September, hunters in Ohio had killed 201,292 deer through Tuesday. And counting. The deer hunt concludes at one-half hour after sunset on Feb. 5, though the opportunities during which bunches of whitetails are dispatched disappear after the four-day muzzleloader season that ended last week.

Nine days ago, a bullet fired by a gun in the hands of a 6-year-old boy passed through a 25-year-old teacher�s chest. Though unlikely to face criminal charges, that child will grow up with the guilt and stigma of knowing that he intentionally shot another human being. Massachusetts-based Savage this week announced a new installment in its Stevens series of budget-minded shotguns that looks like anything but a "budget" gun. The new 12-gauge Stevens 560 Field shotguns will be available in both 28- and 26-inch barrel formats and standard (14.5-inch) or compact (13.5-inch) lengths of pull. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives� (ATF�s) stabilizer brace rule was finalized January 13, 2023, and it portends the registration of millions of guns. Breitbart News reported the announcement of the finalized rule, noting that owners of said braces will have 120 days to register them once the rule is published in the federal register.

A bill introduced in the New Hampshire House would end state enforcement of a wide range of federal gun control measures; past, present and future. The passage of this bill would take an important step toward nullifying federal acts in practice and effect that infringe on the right to keep and bear arms within the state.
