Last Thursday on CBSs "Survivor: Africa" contestant Frank Garrison denounced gun control advocates and liberal media bias:
"My argument always with the gun activists is that they think that guns kill people and everything, theres like, theres everything else you can kill someone with, you know, a piece of fishing line I can kill somebody with. There are automobiles that kill people every day, drug overdose, malpractice, just everything." |

"At the start of a recent evening class in weapons defense, Darren, who is a deputy district attorney for Los Angeles County, enters the room with a collection of plastic handguns. In the weapons program, students learn techniques that involve moving out of the line of fire and taking control of an aggressor's weapon before the attacker has the chance to react."

A 10-week safety program being presented by Cocke County Sheriffs Deputy Armando Fontes, seeks to provide 30-minute classes at Northwest, Cosby, and Del Rio Elementary Schools. Fontes said that other safety classes include the importance of E-911, poisons, gun safety, and being home alone.
--Someone in the area should check out this program to make sure the gun safety section is not an ANTI-gun safety section. |

The number of punishment beatings and shootings meted out by paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland hit record highs in 2001.
The number of punishment shootings recorded during the year was 177, up from 126 in 2000. Of these, 114 were carried out by loyalists (militant pro-British Protestants) and 63 by republicans (pro-Irish Catholics). The 114 attributed to loyalists were by far the highest number ever recorded in a single year.
--I guess their "gun control" isn't working out either. |

"It's about elitists such as Sen. Dianne Feinstein who have personal interests at stake in China. And it's about the New World Order foreseen by Bush's father - a global order in which the interests and wishes of ordinary Americans are subordinated to the desires of international bodies with no accountability to the rule of law nor the Constitution of the United States. Happy New Year, America. Enjoy your freedom while you can."
KABA NOTE: Not directly RKBA-related, but this obviously affects our daily life, when our President elect chooses to grant "unconditional permanent normal trade status - the new euphemism for 'most-favored nation trading status'" -- to an enemy country such as China. |

Michael Bellesiles' book "Arming America" won praise from gun-control advocates... Now Mr. Bellesiles' book is being called something else (what it is): A Fraud.
America's first so-called "gun control laws" were enacted after the Civil War as a means of disarming recently freed slaves, who were -- mirabile dictu! -- shooting back at Ku Klux Klan and similar mauraders. The terminology employed has evolved considerably, but the fundamental principles of so-called "gun control" are completely unchanged. |

ChicagoTribune.com -- Todd Vandermyde, Illinois lobbyist for the National Rifle Association, said gun opponents are trying to get from the court what "they've been unable to get out of the legislature."
"They don't like guns, they don't like gun shops, they don't like people who own guns. So they'll do what they can to run them out of town," Vandermyde said. |
