The 5.7x28 mm is a small-caliber, high-velocity, smokeless powder, rebated rim, bottlenecked centerfire cartridge originally designed for a handgun and the personal-defense weapon manufactured by FN. It is similar in length to the .22 WMR. Introduced in 1991 to some fanfare, it has mostly languished, finding little to no popularity in the United States. This was partly because of a lack for firearms chambered for it and partly because of limited availability of ammunition. Thats all changing for 2020 thanks to Rugers introduction of the 57 Pistol and Speers introduction of 5.7X28 mm Gold Dot Ammunition.

One of the newest Ruger pistols to show up at SHOT 2020 was the head-scratching LCP II in .22 LR. The LCP and LCP II are well-known as extremely compact, pocket-sized self-defense guns, but their .380 ACP chambering is already considered marginal by many. Why go to an even more diminutive caliber?

Here is an American scene the Democrats running for president would love to misconstrue. On Monday, as thousands of Second Amendment supporters peacefully marched to defend their rights in Virginias capitol, many of the worlds private arms makers were gathered along a shooting range outside Las Vegas, Nevada. They are in Nevada for the annual Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT) and this is a chance to handle all of this productmuch of it made in Americabefore the trade shows began.

As many as 22,000 supporters of the Second Amendment rallied peacefully at Capitol Square in Richmond, Virginia on Monday, defying expectations by the nation's news media that the event would turn violent and be dominated by white supremacist groups and Nazis. Democrat Governor Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency in advance of the rally and banned weapons from Capitol Square. Thousands of armed demonstrators preferred to remain in the streets just outside the square where they could openly carry their guns.

Some of these products will help you shoot more accurately, hunt more effectively, and have more fun in the field. But, do you really need any of these new products to actually go hunting or shooting? Nope. |

Stolen guns were used in the deaths of five of the six officers killed in the state last year. Some are saying this is a signal for the laws to change. Seeing the history of not only what has taken place, not just in this county, but across the state with stolen weapons, I think its an issue that needs to be addressed, Alabama State Senator Gerald Allen, Republican of Tuscaloosa, told WBRC on Monday. Tuscaloosa County District Attorney Hays Webb called on legislators to increase penalties in these cases in December. |

Dozens of people are gathering on the steps of the State Capitol to show their support for the Second Amendment.
The Lansing rally is being held on the same day that thousands of people rallied in Richmond, Virginia to protest a plan by that states Democratic leadership to pass gun-control legislation.
Three bills passed in Virginia on Thursday, all centered around stronger gun-regulations. One would limit the amount of hand-guns people could purchase in a month while others would require background checks for gun-transfers and prohibit firearm possession in public spaces.
Although the rules would only impact people in Virginia, gun-activist in Lansing say everyones second amendment rights are under attack.

An event in support of gun rights drew a crowd of well over 100 people to the Dippin Donuts on Erie Boulevard Monday evening, leaving little room for people who wanted to buy donuts. They stood quietly and politely, chatting in small groups amidst a sea of Trump hats, Dont Tread on Me signs and signs thanking President Donald Trump for Saving America. The turnout included former Congresswoman Claudia Tenney who is running to reclaim her seat against incumbent U.S. Rep. Anthony Brindisi.

Anyone familiar with the Bible is familiar with the Mark of the Beast: Without this mark, no man may buy or sell. Regardless of ones religious faith or lack thereof, there is an illustrative case in this biblical story: When one cannot buy or sell, one is metaphorically up the creek. Short of producing everything one needs oneself, buying and selling are necessary parts of virtually every modern persons life. |

With battle lines clearly drawn in the wake of Mondays massive pro-rights rally in Richmond, Virginia just days after Second Amendment advocates gathered on the Capitol steps in Olympia, Washington, there are ample examples of bias creeping into the reportage, and if the mainstream press were held to the same standards gun owners are facing, the Fourth Estate might not be a happy bunch. |

A growing number of North Carolina counties are becoming so-called Second Amendment sanctuaries, including several in the Charlotte region. In general, that means local governments pass resolutions affirming they won't enact unconstitutional gun-control measures. Union County commissioners are set to vote on a sanctuary resolution Tuesday night, and a group plans to petition Cabarrus County commissioners to consider one, as well. |
