Expansion Industries, an ammunition manufacturing company whose corporate offices are based out of Carrollton, Texas, is preparing to open a manufacturing facility here.
They have begun preparation work on the East Campus of TexAmericas Center, purchasing the main G Line of the former Lone Star Army Ammunition plant, and have begun preparing the site for operations.
Recently, they also have begun a recruiting drive, advertising an on-site job fair they have coming up Jan. 29. They plan on employing more than 400 by 2023 and have plans beyond that.
The facility will specialize in the production of primers, a key component in ammunition manufacturing, for the small arms industry. |

The 2010 version of the law currently on the books in the state was intended to apply to protecting personal property and individuals defending themselves, not police officers and correctional facility staff, whose actions have been justified under the law in recent years, according to the Associated Press.
House Speaker Ron Ryckman Jr., a Republican, said the announcement from Bennett and his accompanying comments about the law led to a discussion between House committee chairs about whether it should be revisited, the AP reported.
He said a House committee will evaluate Lofton's case as soon as next week, and "I'm assuming that 'stand your ground' will come up," according to the AP. |

What isnt necessary in any of those circumstances is a firearm. And what is now necessary is to legislate against the intimidation whether intentional or not that is packed along with firearms in those settings.
State lawmakers now are considering two bills that would extend existing prohibitions against the carrying of firearms in specific public settings.
House Bill 1618 would restrict the carrying and possession of firearms at county and state election offices and related facilities, such as ballot processing centers and voter registration facilities. Violation would be punishable as a gross misdemeanor with a penalty of up to a year in jail and up to a $5,000 fine. |

While the storage rule may not seem like a substantial change to federal firearms law, the Biden Administration has already proposed two other rules that would make drastic changes to federal law. As NRA-ILA has covered before, the administration has proposed a new rule to effectively ban pistol stabilizing braces and another rule that drastically alters key definitions in federal law.
The regulations pages for these proposed rules now indicate that the frame or receiver rule will be finalized in June while the stabilizing brace rule will be finalized in August. These dates may not reflect when the rules are actually finalized, so please check back regularly to www.nraila.org for updates on these terrible rules. |

The seemingly never-ending fight between Arizona gun rights advocates who want students to be able to carry guns and colleges and universities that opposes allowing firearms on campuses is back yet again.
Republicans on the Arizona state Senate Judiciary committee on Thursday approved legislation that would require public colleges and universities to allow anyone with a concealed weapons permit to carry a gun. Democrats unanimously opposed the bill, which now heads to the full Senate.
The bill sponsored by Republican Sen. Wendy Rogers is the latest effort by GOP lawmakers to erase policies banning firearms and other weapons on college campuses in the state. |

Last year, the Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Liz Brown, refused to take up similar legislation, which passed the House by a vote of 65- 31, denying gun owners in Indiana an opportunity to be heard. This year, the same committee blocked NRA-backed amendments to Lawful Carry and refused to allow a vote at the time of the hearing.

Contact Senate President Pro Tempore Rod Bray and ask him to send NRA-backed HB 1077 to the Corrections and Criminal Law Committee and allow it to receive a full hearing and vote. |

We are all familiar with the idea that lies can grow. It is, however, doubtful any of us have ever told a fib that grew as big as the Lefts lie about Americas gun-owning public. Simply stated, this lie claims that all of Americas armed citizens are to blame for the illegal behavior of criminals who use guns.
It is easy to see why politicians such as President Joe Biden (D) are attracted to this falsehood, as it empowers those who use it to take away our right to keep and bear arms, which then gives them the control of the public they desire. Meanwhile, despite all the facts that dispel this lie, they have powerful messengers to spread and defend it in the mainstream media, Hollywood and academia. |

This article owes a lot to Marc Animal MacYoung, a prolific writer and thinker about self-defense issues whose work you should really check out. One of his areas of expertise is knife fighting and the use of knives in self-defense. MacYoung presents three basic considerations for knife use in a self-defense context in his must-read article on the subject, and Im unable to improve on them:
--A knife is a lethal force item --As such its legal/moral/ethical application is narrowly allowed --self-defense is a legally defined term. |

This isnt the only time criminals have robbed a tobacco store in the past few months. And its unlikely its going to be the last. This week, three armed men tried to rob a place in Rock Island, Illinois, but they chose a terrible location.
I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT TRYING TO STAY CALM, STAY STILL BECAUSE THEY HAD THE GUN RIGHT IN OUR FACES, THE STORE CLERK TOLD KWQC.
An employee was able to get a gun kept by the business owner because of two previous robberies. So when the crooks threatened a person pulling up, the clerk emptied his magazine. |

Sen. Liz Brown, the chair of the committee, shared concerns that people would carry firearms without realizing they fell into one of the 15 disqualifying categories. The current licensing procedure notified this group of people that they didnt legally qualify.
The difference now is, if youre confused (about your status), then you will be notified, said Brown, R-Fort Wayne. There were 10,000 people or so in the last few years who have applied for permits and probably assumed they were legal. |

Heller was decided in 2008. Two years later, McDonald incorporated the Second Amendment. In the past thirteen years, the Second Amendment has had barely any impact on federal law. Invariably, lower courts have upheld all manner of gun control regulations, and the Supreme Court has denied reviewed. Leading the charge has been the Ninth Circuit. The government is undefeated in Second Amendment cases, amassing a record of 50-0. And whenever a three-judge panel actually finds a gun law unconstitutional, without fail, the case is reversed en banc. |

A bill in the state senate would establish a 50-thousand dollar fine for any Iowa city and law enforcement agency where an officer enforces FEDERAL gun regulations that are stricter than the STATES. The bill is part of a campaign that has prompted county supervisors to designate 33 Iowa counties as second amendment sanctuaries where federal gun laws wouldnt be enforced by local officials if the Biden Administration or congress were to enact tougher regulations.
Senator Zach Nunn of Bondurant, a Republican congressional candidate in Iowas third district, is the sponsor of the so-called Second Amendment Preservation Act. |

Democrats routinely disparage guns and gun ownership in this country as one of the main reasons for violent crime. As soon as there is a mass shooting, Democratic politicians beat the drums for gun control legislation.
Even now, amid a violent crime surge largely resulting from failed Democratic policies in cities nationwide, they still blame guns. Yet, what goes ignored are the incidents in which guns are used for self-defense.
People are fighting back, demonstrating the importance of the Second Amendment. |

At the time, Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis also said he was concerned about criminal penalties that could snag sheriffs deputies who unknowingly went against the county ordinance. But Councilman Joe Dill, who reintroduced criminal penalties in an amendment the council will consider, said the county either needs to have a penalty for breaking its ordinance or it should do away with it entirely.
I think it will stand up, Dill said. I dont think theres a judge that will say youre overstepping your bounds.
If the amendment passes, it would add penalties of up to 30 days in jail and up to a $500 fine to anyone who violates the ordinance. |

The thought of allowing anyone over 18 to possess a gun without a proper license doesnt exactly sit well with local law enforcement.
Its a touchy, touchy thing, said Sheriff Brad Burkhart.
The Indiana Senate in coming weeks likely will consider House Bill 1077, which would eliminate the need for handgun permits in Indiana. The bill passed out of the House last week on a largely party-line vote, 64-29. A similar proposal failed in the Senate last year as Republican leaders pointed to opposition from the Indiana State Police, the state police chiefs association and the Indiana Fraternal Order of Police. |

The very first sentence is an admission of the utter failure of every fraudulent infringement Feuer and the L.A. government he has been a prominent part of for decades have mandated by diktat in the name of gun safety. Not only has the state of California attained the highest gun laws grade from both the Brady Campaign and the Giffords gun-grab groups but Feuer and every person he submitted his latest citizen disarmament scheme to has built a powerful political career on Second Amendment subversion.
If their edicts really did work, why is there increasing gun violence? |
