"Without question, our elected representatives have rapidly erected plans for a police state in our nation. Now, lets assume that their decisions to raise a paramilitary police state in the United States of America are merely a response to 911. For now, we will also overlook the thousands upon thousands of treaties, charters, compacts, and 'partnership' bureaucracies that were signed and implemented behind our backs the ones with direct links to the United Nations, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, and the Organization of American States, for example. However, we will put all of this aside for now." |

"A new surveillance device using radio waves to look under peoples' clothing for concealed guns, bombs or other weapons may be coming soon to a security checkpoint near you."
"But the modest need not worry about screeners sneaking a voyeuristic peek because the system only identifies non-human material tucked inside clothing and does not convey images of the naked form underneath, the maker of the device -- Brijot Imaging Systems Inc. of Orlando, Florida -- said on Monday."
"The BIS-WIDS Prime is the first and only surveillance camera that immediately detects and identifies the exact location of objects hidden beneath a person's clothing while the person is in motion, the company said." |

"After 140 years of manufacturing iconic Winchester rifles in New Haven, Conn., the Belgian company that owns U.S. Repeating Arms and the Winchester brand, has announced that the venerable plant will close, and the classic Winchester lever-action models - credited with "winning the West" - will be discontinued."
"The end-of-an-era closure has been blamed by The Herstal Group (FN Herstal), which purchased Winchester in 1981, on lagging sales and killer competition from cheaper foreign products. Yet, NewsMax has learned that the Winchester operation may have been tripped up by federal red tape that hampered its overseas sales." |

"It is indeed cause for joy that Sgt. Ajay Kapour and Officer Andrew Rydlewski cut Henry down before his gunfire harmed them or anyone else. They were overmatched in weaponry and had heard Henry squeeze off a round - and still they gave chase, waging a gun duel from as close as 15 feet. Greater bravery is hard to conceive."
"Remember, too - for surely these two officers did - that gun violence has taken the lives of two NYPD cops and wounded nine others since June. Incredibly, one of the dead, Detective Dillon Stewart, was slain by a 9-mm. that Henry had allegedly used to shoot up a Brooklyn diner. He was out on bail on that charge, and a jury had previously acquitted him of a 2002 cop shooting." |

"Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort praised the courage and leadership of Governor Jim Doyle for his veto of the carrying concealed weapons (CCW) legislation. The CCW bill, sponsored by the gun lobby, would put more deadly handguns on the streets and put families and law enforcement officials at greater risk. Even so, members of the State Senate and Assembly have indicated that they will attempt to override Doyle's veto. State lawmakers who vote in favor of the override will be ignoring the will of the public, which overwhelmingly opposes the carrying of hidden, loaded handguns into public places such as banks, parks, shopping malls, buses, movie theatres, libraries, restaurants, and private businesses." |
