As South Carolina's public servants grapple with the state's disproportionate rate of women killed by husbands and boyfriends, a Greenwood domestic abuse survivor's plight is shifting some focus to a smaller population: women who seriously injure their partners as they try to safely end the relationship.
Tiffany Janae Carroll's family said she set them free in September 2017 when she stabbed her boyfriend of two years as he tried to stop her from fleeing with her children. |

This weeks Second Amendment rally in Richmond, Virginia, was a big disappointment but not for those in attendance. More than 20,000 protesters marched peacefully in Virginias capital city in support of their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
But for members of the Leftmedia, many of whom characterized the event as an uprising of violent white nationalists, the day was a stark reminder that they just dont understand this country or its people. |

Introduced to the public in 2008, the .327 Fed. Mag. received a lot of attention because it came close to delivering six-shot .357 Mag. performance in compact revolvers. Loaded to a maximum average chamber pressure of 45,00 psi10,000 more than the .357 Mag.the .327 Fed. Mag. is one of the most powerful handgun cartridges every produced. However, aside from all its attributes as a cartridge, and the fact that revolvers so chambered for the .327 Fed. Mag. could also fire .32 H&R Mag., .32 Long, .32 Short and .32 Auto ammunition, the .327 Fed. Mag. never really caught on as well as many hoped. |

With a series of shootings in Seattle filling local news reports, Democrats moved proposed restrictions on the size of gun magazines and training requirements for concealed pistol licenses out of a key Senate committee Thursday over Republican objections.
The House also passed a proposal that would allow the Washington State Patrol to destroy firearms confiscated from crimes, despite objections from critics that the guns should always be sold to help the agencys budget and provide protections for people who cant afford new weapons. |

In their regular meeting on Thursday morning, magistrates unanimously approved the resolution. Laurel County Judge David Westerfield said the resolution was exactly the same as the wording used by other counties - which include adjoining counties Whitley and Knox. |

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office will not file charges in the fatal stabbing this week on a Blue Line light-rail train in Bloomington.
In a news release, the office said the 67-year-old man suspected in the Thursday stabbing will not be charged "as we would be unable to disprove a claim of self-defense."
The stabbing occurred about 1 a.m. Thursday after a verbal altercation between two men as the northbound train left the Mall of America station. They exchanged words, which led to a physical fight. At one point one of the men pulled a knife, officials said. |

The Wirt County Commission passed a resolution Friday morning declaring the county "a Second Amendment sanctuary," joining Putnam County, Preston County and the community of Fort Gay in Wayne County as the only others in West Virginia to approve the designation.
The resolution cites the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, a past ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court and the West Virginia's state constitution, proclaiming the right to keep and bear arms.

If you violate the Second Amendment to the Constitution, or the First Amendment, or any of the amendments, then what you are doing is illegal.
This is not an esoteric concept.
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land.
Still, three Republican state representatives, Leo Biasiucci, Walt Blackman and Frank Carroll, have introduced a bill (House Bill 2093) that would nullify any act, law, treaty, order, rule or regulation that violates the Second Amendment.
Ed.: This is an anti-commandeering bill, not a nullification bill as the author would have you believe. |

The city of Staunton will not be a Second Amendment sanctuary, nor will its city council conduct a public hearing on the issue despite one councilwoman's multiple attempts.
For the first time on Thursday, the topic was on council's work session agenda, and Councilwoman Andrea Oakes tried to convince council to hold a public hearing. But the other six council members agreed: Enough was enough.
"We've had two very full matters from the public sessions and innumerable letters and phone calls," Councilman Jim Harrington said. "So I don't see the point of it." |

There was nothing in writing for the public to look at and that was part of the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders plan - listen to public comment then put words to paper for later action.
On Wednesday before a full chamber, the five-member board heard two hours of comments from two dozen people on their feelings about guns, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, New Jersey current firearms issues and proposed new gun laws. |

Democrats in the Virginia House of Delegates are advancing a package of gun-control measures less than a week after tens of thousands of pro-gun advocates from around the country rallied at the state Capitol.
But the advancing bills dont include a proposed 'assault weapon' ban, a top priority for Gov. Ralph Northam and one thats drawn fierce resistance from gun-rights advocates. |

A grassroots movement is growing among gun rights advocates in New Jersey, enlisting town halls in small, mostly rural sections of the state in their battle against gun laws imposed by Trenton, considered to be among the toughest in the nation.
I would believe the right to own a gun is probably being threatened, yes, said Dean Voris, the owner of the Garriss General Store in Stillwater Township, a rural Sussex County community thats home to avid hunters and others who believe their Second Amendment rights are under attack. |

Had 22,000 people showed up in Richmond, Virginia, to demand stronger gun control laws, it is a safe bet that proponents of them would pronounced the crowd to be conclusive proof most Americans want such restrictions.
But when a group estimated at that size demonstrated on Monday against new firearms ownership limits, some gun control advocates insisted the crowd was small and evidence not many people worry about Second Amendment rights. |

At least 22,000 Second Amendment advocates hailing from across the country assembled at Virginias State Capitol building to rally against a slew of gun control proposals that are in the process of passing through the Democrat-controlled state legislature.
The mood throughout the Jan. 20 gun rights rally, also known as Lobby Day was upbeat, and Capitol police said there were no arrests or injuries reported as of 1 p.m. The rally, organized annually by the Virginia Citizens Defense League, a nonprofit grassroots organization whose goal is to advance the right to keep and bear arms, concluded peacefully just after noon. |
