When it comes to selecting a semi-automatic rifle cartridge, the 5.56x45mm NATO and the 7.62x39mm are always front and center in the conversation.
Both rifle rounds have been forged in the fires of battle from Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan as well as a host of other conflicts across the globe. As a result, they are two of the most popular rifle cartridges on the planet. |

In any other country, it would be shocking to meet a man such as Robert Nash, as Nash doesnt seem like the kind of person who would challenge the power of mayors, governors and judges whove put themselves between law-abiding Americans and their civil rights. Nash, to all appearances, seems like a man of no special distinction. He is a humble, middle-aged man who works in a furniture store. He is deferential to a fault. He is easy to talk to, not outwardly political or ideological and has a face that could be found just about anywhere in America.

At SHOT Show I spoke with Kel-Tec engineer Ryan Williams. One of the primary interests was getting a first look at the new Kel-Tec P15 subcompact 9mm pistol. It is said to be an updated version of the P11, which pioneered sub-compact polymer 9mm pistols. The P11 held ten rounds in the magazine, as I recall. I had a P11 for a while, not long after they first came out. For whatever reason, I sold it. A light pistol has more recoil impulse. I opt to carry a bigger pistol most of the time.

Red Flag laws are state laws that allow and authorize courts to issue a type of protection Order to allow some law enforcement or police departments to temporarily confiscate firearms and/or ammunition from people who are determined by a judge, law enforcement, or certain official to be a danger to themselves or to others. Courts may also bar the person from purchasing guns and ammunition. And the gun ban and confiscation remain in place until an initial court Hearing (time requirements vary) and possibly a Final Hearing (which varies by state) up to several months later.

The City of San Jose may be headed for a court battle as the city council is preparing to adopt a new gun control scheme that will require gun owners in the city to carry liability insurance, and also pay an annual fee, estimated somewhere between $25-$35, ostensibly to provide services from a new non-profit, according to the San Jose Mercury News. |

When a shotgun has been around for as long as the Remington Model 1100 has beenit was introduced in 1963there are bound to be some good stories linked to it. One of my favorites is from 1975 when Patricia Malinosky, the wife of a Remington employee, became the first woman to post a perfect score (breaking 100 clay targets) in .410 registered skeet at the Great Eastern Skeet Championships. Her husband, Carl, also posted a perfect 100 with an 1100, and she went on to beat him in a shoot off to win the event. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by one enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (1821) |
