Belgrades Ali Weisz qualified for the U.S. Air Rifle Olympic team back in May, the same month she left for Army Basic Training.

I enjoyed Basic Training a lot," the soon-to-be Olympian said. "It was such a unique experience and I really went into it to look at it as a growth opportunity and just took every day as exactly that -- another opportunity to grow.

After Weisz completed Basic Training, she spent nine weeks learning human resources in AIT (Advancing Individual Training), spending almost five months before she was able to head to the Army Marksmanship Unit at Fort Benning in Georgia and fire her air rifle.

In a case that the defense attorney says exemplifies problems with prosecuting 18- to 25-year-olds in the adult justice system, an Alameda County jury acquitted a man who was barely 18 when he shot and killed an Oakland man during a confrontation outside of a liquor store.

Jesus Lima, 21, testified during trial that he fired a shot after the victim, 20-year-old Deivi Zacarias-Lopez, and four others attacked him. Limas attorney argued to jurors that Lima had acted in self-defense, noting that he retreated 62 feet before bringing the gun from his waistband.

The death of their 19-year-old son has one family asking the federal government to investigate his death.

DaShawn Tye, 19, allegedly tried to rob Mages Grocery on Glenway Avenue back on Nov. 19, 2020. On the day of the fatal shooting, Tye backed the owner into a corner, so the owner got his gun and shot Tye, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said in December.

Tye ran from the store and was later found by police with multiple gunshot wounds. He would later die at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters said no charges would be filed against the store owner, whom the prosecutor said was acting in self-defense.

All I am trying to say is that if I had the opportunity, I would suggest that my congresswoman consider purchasing a gun for her home not for the House floor or to carry on her hip at all times, but for those instances where a bodyguard may be too far away to prevent a tragedy.

Throughout the process, Democrats loudly voiced opposition, and recently two House members announced plans to introduce a bill that would repeal the new law.

The stand your ground law is actually a make my day law and jeopardizes the life of every Ohioan, state Rep. Adam Miller, D-Columbus, said. Someone can now shoot and kill merely by professing they thought they were threatened. Fender benders and parking lot standoffs are now ripe for gun violence. More troubling, this bill threatens every person of color in our state. We can do better and we must.

Wayne LaPierre, the NRAs effective head, is quoted in the complaint as blaming gun control initiatives on people like George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, and more.

All of the three men, notes triblive.com, are Jewish.

Filibuster Preservation Bought Two Years For The Second Amendment

The decision by Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin to keep the legislative filibuster has given Second Amendment supporters something they desperately needed: Time. The next two years will be critical, both to shift the Senate landscape and to also regain the House.

Sinema and Manchin are not the most reliable of champions. In 2018, we noted that Martha McSally was a better choice as compared to the former. The latter could have been replaced by West Virginia Attorney General Pat Morrissey. Those two races, and the failure to beat Jon Tester loom large now. Had we won, it would mean control the Senate stayed in GOP hands, and it would have been a massive check on the Biden-Harris regime.

To cater to this market, Federal Premium expanded its Punch line of defensive ammunition to include the .22 Long Rifle chambering.

Once upon a time, a laser sight was as big as a D-cell flashlight. They were hard to find, expensive to buy, and cumbersome to operate.

Today, laser sights have become so small that they've been integrated into other components, like the Crimson Trace Lasersaddle or the HS1 Laser Handstop from Viridian. The tiny Rail Master laser sight is so small you might not even notice it mounted to a rifle, and it barely takes up any real estate on a handgun's Picatinny rail.

The plaintiffs in an NRA-backed lawsuit today asked a federal court to declare Marylands handgun qualification license law unconstitutional.

The current handgun qualification law requires residents in Maryland who wish to legally purchase a handgun to first fill out an application, obtain a copy of their fingerprints from a third-party, attend lengthy classroom instruction, pass a live-fire exercise, pay a $50 application fee, then wait up to 30 days for the state to process the information. Once these steps are completed, the purchaser must then follow Marylands additional laws and undergo another background check, pay another registration fee, and wait an additional seven business days before they can take possession of the gun.
