Most shooters I know dont put a lot of thought and consideration into their .22 LR ammo. Rimfire cartridges are pretty simple and basic in design; they dont come with a lot of bells and whistles, and theyre only designed to perform a niche set of tasks. However, when you break open a new brick of 22LR ammo, you don't want to be worried about clearing duds while you're enjoying your day of plinking at the range. |

In California, as in every other state, it is illegal for a convicted felon to possess a firearm, but that doesnt keep criminals from packing heat.
As explained on the website of one attorneys office, In the state of California, one of the consequences of being convicted of a felony is that you are prohibited from possessing a firearm. This is commonly known as the felon with a firearm law, codified in California Penal Code 29800 PC. |

It seems like everyone I know is in the market for bulk ammo these days. Stockpiling FMJs for a SHTF scenario is pretty commonplace, and a lot of people ask me what I think of Federal Independence ammo. So, Ive put together this ammo review to let everyone know its pretty good ammo, but there may be better options. |

On Friday, January 26th, House Bill 406 was introduced by Rep. Maloy (R-HD52). This critical piece of legislation will help ensure financial privacy of firearm owners when utilizing credit cards to purchase firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, and components, by prohibiting the use of firearm specific merchant category codes by payment processors. Anti-gun activists, in states like California, have already mandated the use of these codes and it is important that Utah takes this critical step to protect financial privacy. |

Massachusetts Senate Democrats rolled out a wide-ranging gun reform bill Thursday, targeting a vote in one week on a police-endorsed measure that is likely to generate considerable opposition among firearm owners. After months of closed-door talks between senators and various interest groups, the Senate teed up legislation that cuts across a long list of public safety issue areas, including the reported rise in untraceable "ghost guns," harassment prevention orders, assault weapons and dealer inspections. |

The National Rifle Association (NRA) "favored tighter gun laws" in the 1920s and '30s, New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof wrote in 2018. But since the 1970s, Kristof complained, the NRA "has been hijacked by extremist leaders" whose "hard-line resistance" to even the mildest gun control proposals contradicts "their members' (much more reasonable) views."

A couple of weeks ago, about 20 anti-freedom state attorneys general led by Letitia James from New York petitioned Joe Bidens administration to stop the sales of surplus 5.56mm ammo from the Lake City Army Ammunition plant. Each of those statist AGs tried to score virtue signaling points with their hard-left constituents with the political stunt. Not a single one of these AGs target gang violence, but rather save their anger and direct it toward law-abiding gun owners, blaming guns for the actions of violent criminals. |

Its a .38 Special revolver. Up until one month ago, I had scant idea what such a gun looked like or could do. My husband eventually made the decision to get a gun, which surprised me a little as he is a very peaceable man. Yet, he is a lover of the U.S. Constitution: peaceable, but no fool. This week is our 30th anniversary. For our anniversary present, we bought the gun together. |

Ruger developed its LC Carbine as a lightweight, handy long gun that paired nicely with the company's 5.7x28 mm pistol. For 2024, Ruger has expanded its LC Carbine lineup with a .45 ACP-chambered version that's still handy, and best of all, it feeds from readily available Glock magazines. Thanks to its side-folding stock, the Ruger LC Carbine in .45 ACP collapses to a compact size that makes it easy to store and transport.

When it comes to weird-looking guns, few can beat FNs P90 bullpup. Most rifles and personal defense weapons have a fairly traditional layout: magazine up front, grip behind that, with the stock bringing up the rear. The P90 not only departs from that in just about every way possible, but it just looks like something an alien would carry (assuming they cant shoot lasers out of their eyes or something).

Probably the coolest story coming out of SHOT Show involves one of the largest state-owned firearms plants in the world spooling up to send pallets of iconic guns to anxious consumers in the U.S. PT Pindad (Persero) dates to 1808 and since 1950 has been the primary domestic arsenal for the Indonesian military. Back in the mid-1960s, with the Pacific Rim country's shift to embrace the West, Pindad began to acquire a series of licenses to make firearms locally in Java. These included two from Beretta to manufacture the PM12 9mm submachine gun and the BM-59 battle rifle in 7.62 NATO. In 1984, Pindad secured the same sort of technical package and license to produce the FN FNC 5.56 rifle. |

The Beretta Tomcat has been around for almost 30 years, but it never felt, looked, or shot as good as it does with the new 30X series. An outgrowth of the Italian gunmaker's tip-up barrel mouse guns such as the Minx and Bobcat that dated back to the 1950s, the .32ACP Tomcat was first introduced in 1996 and pushed the envelope for a pocket-sized semi-auto. Using a 2.45-inch barrel, 7-shot magazine, and a mag release that was set to the rear near the grip, it proved popular to remain in production, receiving a "Covert" upgrade last year that included an extended threaded barrel and colorways such as Kale Green and Ghost Buster, along with the standard black Bruniton, FDE or stainless finish. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Those, who have the command of the arms in a country are masters of the state, and have it in their power to make what revolutions they please. [Thus,] there is no end to observations on the difference between the measures likely to be pursued by a minister backed by a standing army, and those of a court awed by the fear of an armed people. Aristotle, as quoted by John Trenchard and Water Moyle, An Argument Shewing, That a Standing Army Is Inconsistent with a Free Government, and Absolutely Destructive to the Constitution of the English Monarchy [London, 1697]. |
