Anti-gunner and former congressman Lionel van Deerlin shows us all how silly owning firearms is with anecdotes such as "Hunting with friends in the Angeles National Forest, Garcia climbed a tree for a better view of the woody terrain. He slipped and fell, accidentally discharging his high-powered rifle. A bullet passed through Garcia's left hand and into his face."

The recent rhetoric from Jonathan Lowy from the Brady Center to Prevent Handgun Violence proves both his ignorance and extremism.

He apparently doesn't have a problem with the current legal carry ban scheme that prohibits all forms of carrying a firearm for defense, either unconcealed, concealed, or in a vehicle.

CHEYENNE, Wy. -- Supporters of a proposed shooting range just south of town say the facility will be safe, quiet and will not pollute groundwater.

Although the nearest house is a mile away, residents of the Winchester Hills and Hyndman Heights neighborhoods have been concerned about having a shooting range on nearby Terry Ranch Road.

"If this site weren't safe, if it posed a safety problem, the National Rifle Association wouldn't have anything to do with it,".

Another state implements their "will-issue" concealed carry law. And once again, the blood running in the streets fails to materialize. With only 33 other states having done the exact same thing, you just can't be too sure as to what the results will be in your own state.

(-sarcasm off)

Just like Nazism was established legally and constitutionally in Germany, gun control is supposedly being legally established. I offer "supposedly," because the only way to legally restrict and infringe on firearm ownership is to either abolish the Second Amendment or modify it. Gun control is a euphemism for the total abolition of firearm ownership in America.

First story on page.

An Illinois appeals court has ruled that the families of a slain Chicago police officer and four others killed by gang bullets can file public nuisance lawsuits against gun makers and distributors.

It said the families were free to sue manufacturers and distributors of the guns used in the crimes, BUT barred them from suing other gun makers as a public nuisance.

A citizen gets stopped for speeding on a dark, deserted road in the middle of the night and is subjected to what borders on harrassment. A drug sniffing dog and a breathalyzer - all without probable cause. All in the name of the War on Drugs.

Are law enforcement officers going too far in their zeal to make drug arrests?

Fans of the Second Amendment are rejoicing because a federal appellate court has affirmed that the right to keep and bear arms belongs to individuals, not collectives. Anyone who can read plain English already knew that. But now we have a U.S. appellate court saying so. That can't hurt.

Maryland's new law requiring prospective handgun buyers to sit through a two-hour video ostensibly about "gun safety" before they may take possession of their firearms is all about hassling would-be gun buyers not curbing crime or reducing the number of accidental deaths and injuries involving guns.
