U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney trumpeted her support for the Second Amendments right for Americans to bear arms this week as she co-sponsored legislation that would expand the rights of people with concealed weapons permits.
The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would allow people with state-issued concealed carry licenses or permits to carry a concealed weapon in any other state, provided they follow the laws of that state. |

Stocks of firearm manufacturers shot higher on Tuesday and Wednesday, scooped up by speculators betting on violence as a result of the presidential election and unfounded fraud claims. Unfortunately, they got their wish, with the U.S. Capital siege leaving one woman dead and many folks injured. Buyers are bidding those issues higher again in Thursday's pre-market, even though Congress has now affirmed Joe Biden's victory. |

Two more officers involved in the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor have been fired a detective believed to have fired the fatal shot and another who sought the search warrant that led to the deadly raid, authorities announced Wednesday.
The announcement came moments after city officials said the former Atlanta police chief would soon take over the Louisville Police Department after months of unrest over Taylor's death. Erika Shields served in Atlanta for 25 years, including more than three years as chief. Her tenure ended when she resigned in June after Atlanta officers fatally shot a Black man named Rayshard Brooks in a restaurant parking lot. |

Joe Biden will enter the White House this month at the head of a political party that in recent years has been overtly hostile to self-defense rights, even to the point of advocating impossible-to-enforce bans on popular firearms. But the opportunity has passed for the restrictions he peddles as "common sense reforms." In an era of political instability and distrust in government, Americans of varying political beliefs are purchasing guns in record numbers. And those millions of new weapons and their owners are bound to remain beyond the reach of politicians' wish lists of restrictive laws. |

There are some good signs during what has been a nearly year-long shortage in ammunition.
At stores, handfuls of boxes of even some of the most sought-after calibers are spending some time on the shelf before being snatched up. And an indoor range has been able to lean on longtime relationships and a unique business model to keep plenty of ammo available for those who use the range.
But the ammo shortage, which began with fears of COVID-19, continued through a summer of demonstrations and a fall presidential election, is still frustrating customers and ammo sellers alike. |

Kim DiScalas letter titled Government is taking away our constitutional rights in the Dec. 19-20 edition of the Star is virtually devoid of facts.
She asserts that Its not a privilege to own a firearm, it is a right ... without restriction or stipulation, that is not to be infringed. While throughout our countrys history, the Second Amendment has provoked much debate and controversy, there was virtually no clear resolution by the courts what rights exactly the amendment protects before our era. |

The Montana Legislature is poised to take up a number of gun-related bills this session, the first being House Bill 102 brought by Joliet Republican Rep. Seth Berglee seeking to expand the locations where concealed handguns may be carried, including on college campuses.
The legislation invokes familiar arguments from firearms proponents that places where guns are prohibited are vulnerable to mass shootings and that college campuses specifically, because they are government-owned, should not infringe on the otherwise lawful carrying of concealed firearms. |

Create a crisis out of nothing (Im gonna carry my gun anywhere I want like that there Constitution says I can!), pretend offense when youre rightly opposed (there are laws about where and how firearms can be carried, Representative Boebert), and then bitch on Twitter about it as in the video below. Then link said video to your fundraising website, and wow: Running a half-assed diner that got attention after its gun-toting owner raised a Second Amendment ruckus sure seems like small fried potatoes now. |
