A citizen with Parkinson's disease, answered the doorbell to "may I use your telephone".

The visitor being rebuffed smashed in the kitchen door glass. After forcing his way inside, he confronted the resident who raised a handgun and fired a single, fatal shot.

"Had he not had an equalizer, he would be a victim today," said the resident's brother after the attack." I thank God for the right to bear arms." (The Times-Union, Jacksonville, FL, 5/6/00)

"Kees, 37, was arrested about 1 a.m. on June 11...A police affidavit said officers saw Kees leaving a tenant's apartment with a gun."

"The tenant, Don Ward, told police Kees used a key to enter his apartment and that Kees told him "the alarm clock was disturbing him and his lady.' Ward, who was not in court Friday, told police that Kees then shot his alarm clock and left."

But the clock kept ticking, so he came back and shot it again.

Guess I won't shoot the neighbor's car alarm. :-)

What an idiot! This is Darwin Award material.
