Kamalas Big Glock Problem

Last but not least, lets talk about Californias arguably illegal handgun roster. In California, citizens can only purchase handguns that have been certified by the state, and the number is dwindling year by year.

Interestingly, many Glock pistols are not on that handgun roster so thereby illegal for California residents to own. Gen 3 Glocks and below were grandfathered in as they were sold before the law was passed. But Gen 4 and 5 cannot be sold in the state. If she bought her alleged Glock new since 2009, its probably illegal for normal citizens of California to own. Unless, or course, she bought a Gen 3 or earlier at a gun show!

Further details emerged when FOX8 shared excerpts from the 911 call where the woman narrated her ordeal, "I just shot my roommate. Hes been attacking me all night," she reportedly told dispatchers, her voice likely tinged with fear and a survival instinct provoked by a night of terror, a dispatcher questioned her about the condition of the roommate which she was unsure of having left in fear of further violence. The deceased man's identity has not been released as of the latest updates, and authorities have continued their investigation at the scene for many hours. Road closures were implemented around the area to aid in law enforcement efforts.

Rittenhouse, who lives in Texas, spoke at a fundraiser for Republican state House candidate T.J. Roberts at Smokin This and That BBQ, a restaurant in the city of Florence, about 15 miles southwest of Cincinnati. The two became friends after meeting through their political activism.

Jon Stewart used his opening segment on Monday nights episode of The Daily Show to break down Elon Musks appearance at a Trump rally on Sunday in Butler, Pa. While the appearance was widely mocked online for Musks enthusiasm he literally jumped around the stage the content of his speech was focused on the First and Second Amendments.

The other side wants to take away your freedom of speech, Musk said. You must have free speech in order to have democracy. Thats why its the First Amendment The Second Amendment is there to ensure that we have the First Amendment.

Most homeowners possess some means of self-defense. Many have a gun, some wield baseball bats and most have a security system. One Michigan homeowner had a crossbow.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, two men, one 32-year-old and the other 41-year-old, attempted to break into a home on the 4500 Block of Huron in Frenchtown Township in Monroe County. The younger of the two was shot by one of the two residents with a crossbow.

911 calls rang out in the early morning hours of September 22nd reporting gunshots and a male seen lying on the ground in Henderson, Nevada, according to officials.

If you need yet another eye-rolling reference to provide the next easily led automaton who questions why you need a gun, heres one more for the dumpster fire. Now, you never really know what anyone is up to taking a stroll at 4 AM on a Saturday, but Henderson is Las Vegas adjacent and we all know that city never sleeps. Not to mention, this is America, and Ill take a walk whenever I feel like it.

Why Kamala Harris is facing criticism for owning a Glock

Harris revelation unleashed a wave of criticism from Second Amendment groups and conservative media, which accused her of hypocrisy given her long-standing support for measures that would restrict people from purchasing certain types of weapons. They also questioned how she originally bought the handgun given Californias strict gun-purchasing requirements.

The Harris campaign did not specify where and when she bought the Glock, which model she owns or which storage devices she uses. Harris said last month that the gun is for self-defense and that if somebody breaks into my house, theyre getting shot. Harris current residence is guarded by armed Secret Service agents.

Pennsylvanians are sharply divided on the issue of guns and gun control. A Muhlenberg College survey reveals this split: 60 percent of Pennsylvanians favor tighter restrictions, while 40 percent do not. On one side, those who support restrictions cite the 2018 Tree of Life shooting, Trumps assassination attempt and gun violence in Philadelphia. On the other side, opponents point to the states hunting culture and Second Amendment rights.

Gun control is a big deal for young voters. In 2018, 77 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds said that gun issues would impact their vote, and 64 percent think gun laws need to be stricter.

Gov. Walz was wrong. Thats not the test. It never was.

More than a century ago, it was one justices non-binding way of describing the clear and present danger test for speech that could be criminalized. The Supreme Court overturned that test in 1969, in Brandenburg vs. Ohio.

Walzs distortion of the First Amendment was a direct reply to Vances call for "Democrats and Republicans to reject censorship. Lets persuade one another. Lets argue about ideas and then come together afterwards." The moderator had asked a question about Jan. 6.

During that same exchange, Walz, for the second time in two years, suggested that hate speech can be censored by government. He was wrong on that, too.

Patterson said there would be startling consequences for citizens individual rights if that notion were extended to nonviolent offenders.

There would be nothing limiting that to the Second Amendment, he said. (If) they commit an offense analogous to a capital offense at the (nations) founding, then presumably, you could strip them of their First Amendment rights, their Fourth Amendment rights, and everything for life. And, surely, that cannot be correct.

Patterson also took aim at the governments position that individuals who have committed a serious offense can be disarmed, instead drawing the line at offenders who have committed violent acts or threats.

Montanas Republican Governor Greg Gianforte is running for his second term against a political first-timer, Democrat Ryan Busse, in an election that some think is already decided thanks to the state of Montana politics.

Gianfortes campaign has adopted an aura of inevitability. According to recent polling from the AARP, Gianforte has a 16-point lead over Busse. Gianforte is spending roughly half of what Busse is on his campaign. He isnt organizing big rallies or seeking out the press, and he only reluctantly agreed to debate Busse in mid-October after mail-in voting is already underway.

Speaking at a briefing at the states Emergency Operations Center, the governor emphasized that Floridas status as a Second Amendment state could mean dire consequences for anyone attempting to exploit the chaos.

This is not going to be an opportunity for folks to take advantage of people, DeSantis said. If you think youre going to go in and loot, you got another thing coming. Now, you go into somebodys house after the storm passes, thinking that youre going to be able to commit crimes, youre going to get in really serious trouble. And quite frankly, you dont know whats behind that door in a Second Amendment state.

NV: In ghost gun debate, pro-gun groups protecting the criminals, not citizens

For years, proponents of gun rights have clung to a familiar refrain: The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. But, as the Supreme Court takes up a challenge to the Biden administrations regulations on ghost guns this week, its becoming increasingly clear that gun rights advocates, including manufacturers and pro-gun lobbying groups, are significantly more concerned about fighting on behalf of murderers and other violent criminals than about protecting ordinary citizens who desire little more than self-defense and sport shooting. We would even go so far as to say that the gun rights lobby has effectively become the legal arm of the very criminals, gangs and drug lords they claim to stand against.

...people will be able to concealed carry firearms in some areas of the Wyoming Capitol under a draft rule passed Wednesday by the State Building Commission.

The rule was proposed by Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder and State Auditor Kristi Racines and would allow concealed carry of firearms in certain parts of the Wyoming Capitol complex. People now are not allowed to conceal carry firearms in any part of the Capitol.

The states top five elected officials who make up the SBC, Gov. Mark Gordon, Secretary of State Chuck Gray, Degenfelder, Racines and State Treasurer Curt Meier, unanimously approved the draft rule that allows unlimited concealed carry in parts of the capitol that the SBC has jurisdiction over.

In a bold move, the House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), has issued subpoenas to both the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). The subpoenas target the alleged collaboration between the Biden administration and gun control groups, centered around the high-profile lawsuit City of Chicago v. Glock.

The investigation focuses on claims that the White House pressured Glock to modify its pistols to make illegal modifications, such as auto sears that turn handguns into fully automatic weapons, more difficult.

Loudoun County Public Schools will update its student handbook with information about parents legal obligation to safely secure guns, as part of a resolution the school board passed Tuesday night.

The Gun Safety Storage Resolution, which board members in the Northern Virginia district approved unanimously, comes in the aftermath of recent school shootings in Georgia and Maryland, plus a series of unsubstantiated threats to schools in Loudoun.

Those incidents, board member April Chandler said, have prompted community members to inquire about what more can be done to keep schools safe.

A new tax on sales of guns and ammunition could be used to fund services that help crime victims.

Thats the idea behind a proposal Colorado voters will consider on the November ballot. Proposition KK would add a 6.5 percent excise tax on guns, some parts and accessories, and ammunition. Buyers in Colorado already pay state and local sales taxes on the purchase of firearms and ammunition, and a federal tax of around 10 percent.

Three of the conservative justices might side with the ATF in a case that shouldnt be close.

I confess: I expected yesterdays Supreme Court argument in Garland v. VanDerStok to be a nonevent and didnt tune in to listen live. As I noted in my Supreme Court preview and as Charlie explained in more detail, the case has the Biden administration defending a 2022 Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regulation that tried to greatly expand the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA) in a novel and strained way and that seemed to me likely to meet the same fate as the Trump-era ATFs bump-stock ban that was struck down in June in Garland v. ...

A northern Kentucky Republican will file a bill in the 2025 legislative session to hold parents and guardians civilly accountable for gun violence or misuse carried out by minor children in their care.

Rep. Kim Banta of Fort Mitchell, which is across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, thinks of the legislation as a wake up call, she told the Kentucky Lantern.

I have constituents that tell me their kids are literally afraid to go to school, she said. We just need to start kind of zeroing in on: if youre under 18, your parents are responsible for your behavior.

Under her bill, people who are hurt or threatened by a minor using a gun could sue the minors parents or guardians and be awarded monetary damages.
