The NRA has been Americas firearm safety, education and training leader and No. 1 defender of the Second Amendment for 150 years, but did you know it also is the nations linchpin in shooting range development? Powered by your NRA membership dollars, the NRA is Americas authority in helping states not only to build more shooting ranges, but also in helping communities secure the funding to do so.

As the Supreme Court of the United States prepares for oral arguments in what could result in another landmark Second Amendment ruling further defining and potentially expanding on the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms, watch for an increasing number of analysis pieces which may, or may not, offer subtle or not-so-subtle arguments about what the Amendment allows, and what it does not.

I recently read an article on AmmoLand News titled, Senator Hyde-Smith Vows To Oppose Gun Control Hidden In Violence Against Women Act which has me greatly concerned. As you know, the pursuits of the anti-liberty-minded among us are relentless, and they never forget their errand. I have admiration for their perseverance. However, that is usually where my fondness ceases. In this case, a myriad of assaults against liberty are contained within the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act of 2021. Pesky things like due process and the truth be damned, apparently?

The Wild West had its collection of fast guns that are part of legend: Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and Pat Garrett to name a few. What about back East where lobsters, caulk-booted loggers and rugged coastline comprise our lore more than lean, steely-eyed hombres with Hog Legs on their hips?

There's a lot of choices out there when considering big game hunting guns, but a moose rifle really needs to focus on a few particular things. First and foremost, is it chambered in a round that can handle moose, both from a distance and at close range? As long as you've got that knock down power in an ammunition type you have confidence in, then you've got a good starting point.

Is the Smith & Wesson J-Frame Still Relevant for Personal Defense?

The .32 Hand Ejector I-frame (Model of 1903 shown) was a belt gun. Though the subsequent J-frames like the Model 31-1 could also be belt guns, the real impact of J-frames has been as small, concealable revolvers like the ultra-modern Model 360PD. As I write this, Im dog-sitting for friends at their house in the remote New England woods. Its serene and quiet, off the beaten path and unless Im planning on running an errand into town on any given day, theres not a lot of incentive to change out of sweatpants and house slippers.

They wave their guns at the kids behind the counter and the customers in the store.
