... "Anyway, back to today's relevations. Mr. Codrea has found the advisory issued by the BATFE, explaining why the reimportation of these firearms would (supposedly) 'pose a theat to public safety in the U.S.' He helpfully breaks the BATFE's rationale down to six reasons, but the one that seems to be the most central to the BATFE's objection (in that most of the other reasons seem to stem, to a significant degree, from this one) is that the influx of firearms would, through the laws of supply and demand, cause prices to fall:" ... |

"President Obama undoubtedly didn't intend it, but he deserves some credit for the recent report that all violent crime rates dropped in 2009, murder rates by 7.4 percent, robbery rates by 9 percent: His election caused gun sales to skyrocket, and crime rates to plummet."
"Gun sales started notably rising in October 2008, and sale really took off immediately after Obama won the presidential race: 450,000 more people bought guns in November 2008 than bought them in November 2007. That's over a 40 percent increase in sales. By comparison, the change from November 2006 to November 2007 was only about 35,000. Over the last decade, the average year-to-year increase in monthly sales was only 21,000." ... |

A new brouhaha is brewing over GOA supposedly dropping the grade for Deborah Halvorson with no explanation any of the Pratt critics can point to other than speculative hatred for the guy and his group.
They list candidate votes on their site. She voted against them 7 out of 7 times, including on the national parks gun ban. Some of you might want to learn how to navigate a website before jumping to conclusions and getting the anti-GOA lynch mob ginned up--it took me less than a minute to locate this info on the GOA site.
Yeah, but some of those aren't pure gun votes... !!!
They're related enough. Besides, that's not what you were savaging the guy over. You were accusing him of having NO criteria. |

"Not too long ago, while in the Omaha area to teach a course in responsible armed self-defense, I found myself in a Cabelas which had graciously furnished a conference room for the classroom portion of the program. While I was there they had a 'door-buster' sale that included $99.99 Mosin-Nagant 7.62mm Russian military surplus rifles. They had hundreds of em, and sold over a hundred in the first fifty minutes ... They sent enough Mosins out the door that weekend to defend the gates of Stalingrad."

"To hear some gun rights activists tell it, President Barack Obama wants to take away your guns and, any minute now, jack-booted federal agents could knock on your front door to collect them."
"Such predictions started during the 2008 campaign. 'Obama would be the most anti-gun President in American history,' screamed a banner at the [NRA]'s GunBanObama.com. It got so bad that Obama even had to reassure voters he wouldn't take away their guns. Even after the election, gun sales boomed."
