Savage Arms has teamed up with Hogue to introduce the 110 Trail Hunter a rugged hunting rifle designed to stand up to the elements, no matter the conditions. Hogues overmolded rifle stocks have long been known to provide outstanding performance and grip. The full coverage OD Green rubber overmold on the stock provides the user with a superior hold on the rifle in all conditions, while the Cerakote ceramic coating on the barreled action helps to seal out the worst that mother nature can dish out.

The most common small caliber rifle besides the AR-15 in circulation is the humble .22 rifle. Plinkers, squirrel guns, whatever you want to call them, they are and have been with us for more than a century. What Id like to suggest is that the humble .22 LR rifle, especially in semi-auto though not necessarily exclusively, is overlooked somewhat as a defensive arm in the civilian context. Optimal? Nobut viable? Maybe more so than one might think.

Whether outfitting a youngster, intriguing a spouse, or attracting a late-to-the sport elder, setting a newbie up for success starts with an appropriate firearm. A gun that fits well, is user-friendly, and available in appropriate chamberings will help them shoot well. When they shoot well on the range, theyll be more confident and, ultimately, successful in the field. Weve hashed out some of the lowest-recoil and shoulder-gentle chamberings, but this one is all about the actual gun. Whether shopping new or used, finding an ideal hunting rifle neednt be costly. Here are a few solid starting points.

Featuring a quick-change barrel system, full-length ARCA rail, and an easy folding stock, the newest Cross rifle from SIG starts off in .300 Win Mag. The new model, some four years in development, brings magnum-class calibers to the Cross family of bolt-action rifles. First introduced in 2019, Cross up until this week has only been available in 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, and .277 SIG Fury.

From the late 1950s to the early 2000s, two of the most popular rimfire cartridges on the planet were the 22 Long Rifle and the 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, otherwise known as the 22 WMR or 22 Mag. The Supreme Court signaled again this week that it would allow the federal government to regulate so-called ghost guns, despite legal challenges. In an unsigned order on Tuesday, the justices blocked a lower court ruling that had prevented a rule by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives targeting prefabricated gun-building kits from going into effect. The move cements a significant setback for gun rights advocates who hoped the high court might be more favorable toward the kits.
