Pastor Jimmie Hardaway and Bishop Larry Boyd, the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, both claimed that carrying weapons in their churches would benefit them in cases of self-defense or other similar situations.

U.S. District Judge John Sinatra Jr. ruled in favor of the two leaders, writing that allowing people to carry guns in places of worship "would serve the public interest of fostering self-defense at places of worship across the state."

But on a Sunday morning, above a south Minneapolis storefront, Sharpe is preaching. Under a Black Lives Matter and rainbow pride flag, the 47-year-old firearms instructor unleashes aphorisms by the round:

"Your goal is not to win a fight. It's to realize a fight might happen and not be there when it does."

"We don't shoot to kill. We shoot to live."

"Gun culture sucks" is not among the things you would expect to hear at a carry permit class. But Sharpe defies expectations as do many of today's new gun owners.

Republicans on the Assembly Appropriations Committee took aim at Assemblyman Joe Danielsens (D-17) gun reform bill (A-4769), which establishes certain criteria for obtaining a permit to carry a handgun while codifying certain venues at which the right to carry firearms would be restricted due to security and safety concerns.

Danielsen wrote the bill in response to the Supreme Courts decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. His legislation targets the states firearm licensing laws and establishes a list of sensitive locations where guns may not be carried, including playgrounds, bars and restaurants that serve alcohol, train stations, and polling places.

We put a lot of emphasis here on firearms as a way to defend yourself, and Im a huge proponent of concealed carry for this purpose. However, actually having to use your gun in self-defense should be a last-ditch resort. Once youve pulled that trigger, your life (and probably someone elses) is changed forever, and if you can keep yourself safe without having to go through this, you should.

The Glock is, without debate, the striker-fired pistol by which all others are judged. Gaston Glocks masterpiece and its offspring have become some of the most prolific handguns of all time. Glock established an entirely new standard of reliability and durability and made polymer a widely acceptable substrate for firearm construction. All of that said, Glocks do have their shortcomings. The ergonomics arent a perfect fit for every shooter, the sights are nothing to brag about and, frankly, the triggers can use some serious improvement.

One of the biggest elections for a Governors race is in Georgia where voters will decide whether to keep Republican Gov. Brian Kemp or replace him with Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams. Its a rematch from four years ago and this time, the #GUNVOTE will play a critical role in deciding the winner.

Election Day is less than three weeks away and the two gubernatorial candidates faced off in a debate to tell Peach State voters where they stand on the issues, including the Second Amendment.

Unfazed by that warning, New Jersey Senate President Nicholas Scutari (D-Linden) and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Woodbridge Township) have unveiled legislation that closely resembles the law that Suddaby deemed constitutionally dubious.

Like New Yorks law, their bill would impose a subjective standard for carry permits and ban guns from myriad places where people might want to carry them for self-protection.

A federal court judge in Buffalo, N.Y., has granted a temporary restraining order in a case filed by the Second Amendment Foundation that challenges New York States new concealed carry law, declaring the states place of worship restriction is unconstitutional.

Ample Supreme Court precedent addressing the individuals right to keep and bear armsfrom Heller and McDonald to its June 22nd, 2022, decision in Bruendictates that New Yorks place of worship restriction is equally unconstitutional, wrote District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.

In June, the SOMA RISE Center, a drug sobering facility, opened in northeast San Francisco and attracted dangerous drug-addicted vagabonds to the area, causing residents of the once peaceful neighborhood to walk with weapons such as baseball bats and tasers for self defense.

According to local news, a 31-year-resident of the neighborhood named Ghis said, "More troublemakers settling in, feeling comfortable doing their drugs, pissing and sh*tting in the street blocking the sidewalks," all because of RISE.

On the other, there are priests like Friar David Santos and Jlio Lancelotti, who have already declared their votes for Lula. There are also priests with Cardinal Dom Leonardo Steiner, who does not declare his vote, but criticizes Bolsonaro, although without mentioning his name directly.

Its no secret that some in the national media, anti-gun politicians at both the state and federal level and anti-gun special interests groups, are working hard to diminish the importance of responsible gun ownership. As the crime crisis continues to bombard communities and the midterm elections quickly approach, anti-gun proponents are doubling down on soft-on-crime policies and firearm bans in efforts to point the finger at those legally acting on their Second Amendment rights rather than admitting the negative impact these policies have on public safety.

The Empire States latest gun-control law was dealt another setback in federal court today.

Judge John Sinatra of the Western District of New York, a Trump appointee, found the states total ban on licensed gun-carry inside places of worship is unconstitutional. He issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the provision to go into effect immediately and remain in effect until he decides on a request for a preliminary injunction. Judge Sinatra said the states gun ban in churches violates the Second Amendment rights of New Yorkers.

Florida voters got a preview of whats at stake in the U.S. Senate race for The Sunshine State on Nov. 8. #GUNVOTE issues will have an significant impact on voters minds and national gun control groups are spending big to sway voters on the issue, albeit using flawed calculations and disgusting race politics.

Early voting for Iowas General Election began this week and a proposed amendment to the states constitution is on the back of the ballot.

Richard Rogers of the Iowa Firearms Coalition says gun rights advocates began lobbying for this amendment 12 years ago.
We realized that Iowa was one of only six states that has no state level constitutional protection of the right to keep and bear arms, Rogers says, and that didnt seem right to us.

Fortune magazine wrote about the industrys ad claims. For years, it wrote, the gun industry has systematically and cynically exploited Americans fears and anxiety by representing that owning a gun makes you safer. Fortune opined that claim is demonstrably false and that it drives sales. A false claim would constitute false advertising and would be considered a deceptive trade practice under the laws of many states, including Marylands Consumer Protection Act.

The government of Mexico is suing five U.S. gun sellers in a federal court in Arizona, claiming the businesses are illegally engaging in arms trafficking for cartels in that crime-ravaged country.

The new lawsuit comes after a federal judge in Massachusetts threw out a $10 billion lawsuit on Sept. 30 that Mexico brought against arms makers, including Smith & Wesson, claiming that U.S. companies deliberately undermined that countrys draconian gun laws by making military-style assault weapons that found their way to drug cartels and criminals.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government that is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. JAMES MADISON
