Just give up a little bit of your rights, and youll make the rest of us feel safer has been the motto of the gun control movement since day one. Now that same logic, (if you want to equate emotion of feeling safe as logic) is being applied to public health as a whole, and people arent liking what theyre hearing.
Stephen Kruiser once said that firearms are the gateway drug to freedom. In this case, however, firearms ownership is the canary in the coal mine. What big government and runaway political corruption have been doing to our freedoms under the Second Amendment, theyre now doing to every other civil right as well.
Welcome to the party, everyone. Dont say we never tried to warn you. |

Police say a man who lives in the home told them he was attacked by a visitor, a friend of his roommate who had arrived there drunk.
Police say the visitor initially was arguing with the mans fianc.
They say the man became involved in the dispute and told them that the visitor attacked him.
He told officers that he was armed with a gun at the time and initially fired warning shots toward the ground.
However, the man says the visitor still came at him, and, during a fight, he fired a shot, hitting the visitor in the leg. |

Arizona currently has a population of around 7.4 million residents. Only 391,000 Arizona State concealed carry permits have been issued. Now I find that kind of puzzling because we are a shall issue permit state, so theres only a few things that would prevent you from getting your permit. We also honor all 50 states, meaning anyone from any state can come here and get an Arizona CWP (Concealed Weapon Permit), for example taking your course while on a short visit to Arizona. |

The Ohio Senate has passed Knife Rights Knife Law Preemption bill, SB 156, by a vote of 23-7. It now moves to the House where a companion bill, HB 243, is awaiting a vote by the House Government Oversight Committee, expected shortly.
SB 156 Sponsor Senator Kristina Roegner said, Ohioans carrying knives, whether for work or self-defense, face a confusing and impossible to follow patchwork of local ordinances. Currently, what is legal to carry and possess in one town may be a serious crime to possess in another. Senate Bill 156 is criminal justice reform legislation that seeks to save law-abiding citizens from entrapment while traveling throughout the state. |

State legislators denied the ordinary person the right to bear arms in New York. That decision was upheld in state and lower courts. In New York City, the privilege to defend yourself with a firearm in public is only given to a select few. You need not apply unless you are an ex-law enforcement officer, a judge, a politician, or an elite celebrity. That privilege is paid for with political power or campaign donations. Remember that the bill of rights is designed to limit the actions of the government. Big government politicians turned that on its head so they could sell our rights back to a select few of us at exorbitant prices. |

Harrisburg, Pa., residents have standing to challenge the citys gun regulations despite never having the laws enforced against them, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court said.
The regulations prohibit discharging a weapon in the city and possessing a gun in city parks. They also make it unlawful for an unaccompanied minor to possess a firearm outside of their home and require citizens to report lost or stolen guns within 48 hours.
Three citizens and Firearm Owners Against Crime claimed the regulations violate their Second Amendment right to possess guns. Although the city regularly enforces the ordinances, it argued that the plaintiffs lacked ... |

Currently, there are more than a dozen legislative items dealing with gun rights and 10 out of the 13 bills would include more gun restrictions and are championed by Democrats.

Apparently, in concert with the McAuliffe campaign, Dominion Energy is using so-called dark money to suppress gun owner turnout! No, Im Not Kidding.
Dominion Energy has given $200,000 to the Accountability Virginia PAC (AVP), run by a liberal consulting group with ties to ActBlue (a Democratic fundraiser) that came into existence only in July. The Accountability Virginia PAC has spent tens of thousands of dollars running ads in conservative parts of the state to make gun owners question voting for Glen Youngkin. |

Heller stressed his support for a policy known as constitutional carry, the ability to concealed carry weapons without a permit, and for no limits on high-capacity magazines. Both policies stand in stark contrast to Lombardos more moderate stances discussed in the same forum almost four months prior.
During the June forum, the sheriff shared his support of universal background checks and limits on certain high-capacity magazines. Both Heller and Lombardo spoke against several gun control measures passed during the last legislative sessions, including the states Red Flag law and a measure banning so-called ghost guns, which are homemade firearms without serial numbers. |

Bruce and Aimee Abington were never politically active. Hosting a pro-Second Amendment, anti-mask rally was the last thing the couple ever imagined.
The Abingtons are the co-founders of the Freedom Alliance and the driving force behind the Rally for Freedom event scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Andalusia's Community Center. And while the Second Amendment will be defended and COVID-19 safety protocols will be questioned, the rally is a three-hour tour of where much of the modern conservative movement has drifted over the past decade. |

The group sees S.B. 8 as the type of law that could be used to violate gun rights:
FPC is interested in this case because the ap-proach used by Texas to avoid pre-enforcement re-view of its restriction on abortion and its delegation of enforcement to private litigants could just as easily be used by other States to restrict First and Second Amendment rights or, indeed, virtually any settled or debated constitutional right. FPC takes no position on whether abortion should be protected by the Con-stitution but believes that the judicial review of re-strictions on established constitutional rights, espe-cially those protected under this Court's cases, cannot be circumvented in the manner used by Texas. |

The Malheur County Court is expected to send a letter to Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum regarding its status as a Second Amendment Sanctuary, which has been in place since the court adopted an ordinance deeming it so in 2015.
Malheur County Sheriff Brian Wolfe on Oct. 6 urged members of the court to lend their support after learning that Rosenblum had just filed lawsuits against Yamhill and Harney counties regarding their resolutions passed in order to protect Second Amendment rights. |

But gun rights advocates argue that red flag laws violate due process and infringe on gun owners' Second Amendment rights. And angry ex-partners and family members can easily abuse them to exact retribution, said Val Finnell, Pennsylvania director for Gun Owners of America.
"It turns due process on its head," he said. "Petitioners don't have to demonstrate that you committed a crime. They don't even have to demonstrate that there's any chance you'll commit a crime. They just have to demonstrate that you're subjectively a danger to someone. That's all it takes to be stripped of your constitutional rights." |

This came as a surprise to some, as multiple parishes in Central Louisiana have passed a similar declaration. The declaration is largely symbolic and states where the parish stands in the gun control debate. It was clear that some APPJ members had an issue with the word sanctuary in the declaration, which led juror Jacob Coco to draft a similar version of the declaration, this time without the word sanctuary.
I think its a generic resolution, everybody is passing the same thing. We truly support the second amendment, and Avoyelles Parish is a hunting parish, and so I tailored something to Avoyelles Parish, I tailored something that hits home in Avoyelles Parish, said Coco. |

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Cook County taxes on guns and ammunition violate the state constitution because they "directly burden a law-abiding citizens" second amendment right to buy the items for self-defense.
Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis wrote in a 6-0 decision that the taxes violate the constitutions uniformity clause. She noted revenue from the tax isnt directed toward funds or programs to curb the costs of gun violence or reduce the violence. |

[Louisiana] citizens should not be forced to fund those who aim to extinguish their [Second Amendment] constitutional rights. #lalege @NRAILA @NSSF, he wrote, adding, See Agenda Item #47. |
