"'With great power comes great responsibility. This is my gift, this is my curse. Who am I? Im concealed handgun license holder.'"
"If you think you recognized the above quote, then you probably know that it is a blatant rip off of what Peter Parker said at the end of the first Spider-Man movie. Its original intent may have referred to the responsibilities of being a super hero, but it also applies to your average concealed handgun license holder." ... |

... "Yes, we are living in a society where every responsible citizen has the right to a choice on whether or not they will carry a gun, openly or concealed--or we should be. There are plenty of other societies that don't allow this, Toby, you know, where the state is supreme. As for what the royal 'we' is teaching the next generation, I've taught my boys not to be quivering ninnies about guns, starting real early in life--and thanks, that's definitely a topic for future columns." ... |

"Well, if you are, youll be pleased to know that an appellate judge one of the Obama philosophical bent that will be seeded throughout the federal courts if the Senator is elected president two weeks from now thinks you are every bit as dangerous as those trained terrorists." ... |

"A few weeks ago while at the local pawn shop I spotted a used Stevens 311 in 20 gauge, ... the price they were asking was fair and the gun was in perfect condition, so after paying the guy behind the counter my money and filling out the customary paper work, I was on my way with my new project in hand."
"The first thing I did was to cut the barrels down from the standard the 26 inches to a more fitting 20. Next I drilled and tapped the barrels for a new bead sight out front ... I headed outback to my makeshift shooting range to get 'the feel' of my new creation. The first thing I noticed was that the Stevens handled and pointed much easier then before, and was a lot more compact and quicker to maneuver in tight places ..." ... |

"The National Rifle Association has issued its customary election-year rating of Vermont candidates, from governor on down to individual district representatives. It says something for the sophistication of the NRA's equipment that an insert naming the Vermont candidates appeared in every issue of the association's magazine that contained a Vermont address. Presumably New Hampshire addresses would have inserts discussing that state's candidates, and the same for Maine. It's hard to tell if the ratings came for each of the 50 states, but at least they probably went to states that are known for hunting. The ratings were made in mid-September." ... |
