"'With great power comes great responsibility. This is my gift, this is my curse. Who am I? Im concealed handgun license holder.'"

"If you think you recognized the above quote, then you probably know that it is a blatant rip off of what Peter Parker said at the end of the first Spider-Man movie. Its original intent may have referred to the responsibilities of being a super hero, but it also applies to your average concealed handgun license holder." ...

... "Yes, we are living in a society where every responsible citizen has the right to a choice on whether or not they will carry a gun, openly or concealed--or we should be. There are plenty of other societies that don't allow this, Toby, you know, where the state is supreme. As for what the royal 'we' is teaching the next generation, I've taught my boys not to be quivering ninnies about guns, starting real early in life--and thanks, that's definitely a topic for future columns." ...

"Are you a bitter clinger? One of those American gun owners belittled by Sen. Barack Obama, filled with antipathy for people who arent like you? You know, people like foreign Muslims whose idea of a few weeks vacation is a course of paramilitary training at an al-Qaeda-affiliated camp?"

"Well, if you are, youll be pleased to know that an appellate judge one of the Obama philosophical bent that will be seeded throughout the federal courts if the Senator is elected president two weeks from now thinks you are every bit as dangerous as those trained terrorists." ...

"A few weeks ago while at the local pawn shop I spotted a used Stevens 311 in 20 gauge, ... the price they were asking was fair and the gun was in perfect condition, so after paying the guy behind the counter my money and filling out the customary paper work, I was on my way with my new project in hand."

"The first thing I did was to cut the barrels down from the standard the 26 inches to a more fitting 20. Next I drilled and tapped the barrels for a new bead sight out front ... I headed outback to my makeshift shooting range to get 'the feel' of my new creation. The first thing I noticed was that the Stevens handled and pointed much easier then before, and was a lot more compact and quicker to maneuver in tight places ..." ...

"On October 17th, Governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania at a bill signing ceremony at a local Federation of Police lodge in Philadelphia signed HB 1845. While HB 1845 contains a number of provisions, the meat of the bill gets at illegal gun trafficking. As I have noted, through a series of subtle changes it turns Pennsylvania into a registration at point of possession state. In addition, it gets at the issue of reporting lost and stolen handguns in a manner that gets at the root of the problem by prosecuting false filers more vigorously." ...

"Today, students across America are observing the Day of National Concern about Young People and Gun Violence by signing the 'Student Pledge Against Gun Violence.'"

"'The Student Pledge is an invaluable tool to reach young people and educate them about preventing gun violence,' said Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign ... 'The Brady Campaign salutes all students who take the pledge, and help make our schools and communities safer.'"

"In 1996, the United States Senate passed a resolution proclaiming the first 'Day of National Concern,' followed by a Presidential Proclamation by President Bill Clinton. Since then, more than ten million young people have signed the pledge."

The encounter occurred in the north end of Wyoming lion hunt Area 14 in the Coal Creek drainage, about four miles south of U.S. 89 on Salt Pass. No one was injured.

They reported the incident immediately.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have foreseen the Lightworker's ascension to the seat of all temporal power and have announced that they will call a lame duck session of Congress to jam through what they can of their Savior's agenda now, as a good start toward more when St. Barack takes power."

"Why? BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTAND THAT EVERY DAY AFTER THE ELECTION THEY WAIT, THEY GET WEAKER AND WE GET STRONGER."

"The National Rifle Association has issued its customary election-year rating of Vermont candidates, from governor on down to individual district representatives. It says something for the sophistication of the NRA's equipment that an insert naming the Vermont candidates appeared in every issue of the association's magazine that contained a Vermont address. Presumably New Hampshire addresses would have inserts discussing that state's candidates, and the same for Maine. It's hard to tell if the ratings came for each of the 50 states, but at least they probably went to states that are known for hunting. The ratings were made in mid-September." ...

"If (Barack Obama) is elected, he and his anti-gun friends, Hillary Clinton, Charles Daley, Diane Feinstein, Charles Schumer, Ted Kennedy and others will work to take away your right to own a firearm. He will try to turn America into another Australia or Great Britain. They had their firearms confiscated and experienced rocketing crime rates."

Oh, that's right; the criminals didn't turn in their weapons. The only person responsible for your safety is you. The authorities only show up after the fact."

"If you think you have the Second Amendment to protect you, think again. The residents of New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Francisco and other cities have been suffering under draconian gun laws for many years." ...

"Eighty million gun owners in U.S.A."

"Are you one of them? Do you want to remain one of them? If so, you had better vote for John McCain."

"Barack Obama wants us disarmed, and he is only one of the Democratic elite who want us disarmed. Sens. Schumer, Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton, Feinstien ('If I had my way, it would be 'turn them all in') all vote that way very consistently."

"Speaker Nancy Pelosi and many others in the House are just as adamant about gun control."

"Obama SAYS he is in favor of the Second Amendment. His voting record proves him a liar."

"The National Rifle Association (NRA) may have triumphed in June when the Supreme Court found the District of Columbia's gun ban unconstitutional and affirmed the Second Amendment."

"(The communities of Evanston, Morton Grove, and Wilmette, IL promptly repealed their bans and the National Rifle Association is suing Winnetka, IL, site of the first major US school shooting by Laurie Dann in 1988, over its ban.)"

"It may have a wolf, moose and bear huntin' compatriot on the Presidential ticket."

"But the sinking economy which people have put first and a candidate the NRA decried until a few weeks ago have made it increasingly desperate." ...

"I am the Libertarian candidate for lieutenant governor in Missouri. Earlier this summer I and other Libertarian candidates received a questionnaire from the NRA (which I am a member of) concerning my views on the Second Amendment."

"As a member I was excited to complete the survey to make Missouri voters aware that we Libertarians are strong Second Amendment supporters. To my dismay I found none of my, or my fellow Libertarian views were posted on the NRA Web site, only the Republicans' and Democrats' responses were given grades by the NRA. After contacting the NRA offices I was informed via e-mail that only major parties will be given a grade. ..." ...

"Calling him a 'great friend to gun owners and hunters in the Lone Star State,' the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Tuesday formally endorsed Democratic Rep. Nick Lampson (Texas), who is in a pitched battle to continue representing a solidly Republican district."

"By now, everyone is familiar with the advertising slogan 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas' ... Apparently, it's also how the Maryland State Police have decided to handle the files of 53 antiwar and anti-death-penalty activists who were part of a covert surveillance effort that inappropriately identified them as suspected terrorists. The 53 ... can review their files before they are destroyed, but they cannot do so with legal counsel and they cannot make a copy for their records. According to Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley, '... It is a matter that is between the state police and that person. No one else is to see the information.' "Police figures released under the Freedom of Information Act reveal that forces in England and Wales are on course to record a total of 38,000 serious knife crimes this year more than 100 a day."

"The figure is at least two-thirds higher than last year's total of 22,151 offences, announced by the Home Office in July when it unveiled its first annual count of knife crimes."

"Figures to be published by the Home Office this week will massively understate the scale of the problem."

"Data provided to The Sunday Telegraph by nearly every police force in England and Wales ... show that the number of firearms incidents dealt with by officers annually is 60 per cent higher than figures stated by the Home Office."

"Last year 5,600 firearms offences were excluded from the official figures. It means that, whereas the Home Office said there were only 9,800 offences in 2007/8, the real total was around 15,400. The latest quarterly figures ... will again exclude a significant number of incidents." ...
