They are really a lot like us humans. They live on a relatively predictable, routine basis. In other words, they keep a schedule. They are wild ring-necked pheasants. When hunters learn to understand that schedule and interrupt it in the ring-necks landscape, they will be on the path to having increased opportunities for success and bagging a rooster.

Is this an October surprise? Over the weekend, President Trump teased that a fresh new round of tax cuts are in the works and could be revealed before November. The package of tax cuts passed in December of 2017 hasnt been an albatross around the GOPs neck, which Democrats had hoped for heading into 2018 (theyre wrong about everything). It has increased in popularity, with the GOP taking the reins on trust in handling the economy. |

The anti-gunners have been far more outspoken in their crusade, lately, saying not just that we need more restrictions on guns, but even haranguing the NRA, blaming it for all that ails this country in terms of criminals using guns in the commission of felonies. But Geoffrey Norman has stood up for law-abiding gun owners and tried to teach the naysayers a lesson about the value guns have played in U.S. history. In a recent article in The American Spectator, he details the importance of firearms and individual ownership of such guns, in the Battle of Saratoga, a decisive victory for the American Colonists against the British. |

At the signing of the U.S. Gun Control Act on Oct. 22, 1968, President Lyndon B. Johnson hailed the bill as the first step in disarming the criminal, and the careless, and the insane." Johnson, while praising the regulatory checks the law created, acknowledged that the legislations language fell short of his original vision, which would have required gun carriers to be licensed and would have established a national registration for guns would-be regulations that remain controversial today.

Remember back in February when we had the school shooting in Parkland and we started having protests because people were mad that, you know, kids were dying? Yeah, remember that? Do you also remember how nothing actually changed? Well, now is the time to fix that.
With midterm elections just around the corner, its time to recall these issues that seem to fade into the background a month after they happen and actually do something about it. The first question is: What do we do?

Critics say there is no place for an AR-15 among civilians, but a Hawaiian gun owner might beg to differ. When three banditsat least one armeddressed in hooded sweatshirts entered his home and forced one of the residents into a bathroom, the homeowner grabbed his modern sporting rifle and fired a round, nearly hitting one of the burglars. It was enough to put them on the defensive, as they backed out of the house firing four gunshots of their own on the way out. Though they made off with a reported $3,000, neither victim was hurt. |

A bill filed for consideration in next year's General Assembly would allow people with concealed-carry permits to take firearms into most government buildings. The bill was filed by Rep. Robert Goforth, an East Bernstadt Republican. The bill would revise state concealed carry permits, allowing any permit holder to carry a concealed weapon in government or school facilities. The law at present only allows certain persons, such as current or retired county attorneys, commonwealth's attorneys, judges, and current and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed weapons "at all times and at all locations." |

The Model 1883 Reichsrevolver was a hefty solid-frame single-action revolver. It was based on the first Reichsrevolver, the Model 1879. That gun weighed 2.5 pounds and measured a foot long. It was the first centerfire handgun adopted by the fledgling German Empirea simple design in line with similar European revolvers of the period. |
