000 buckshot, also known as triple aught buck, has one of the largest diameter pellet sizes found on the market today, making it great for both hunting and personal defense. When it comes to buckshot size, there are typically eight pellets with a diameter of .36 inches in a 000 buck round, depending on the shell size and manufacturer. As for 000 buckshot vs. 00, the size difference is about 0.03 inches, but the weight of an individual pellet can be as much as 30 percent more with the 000 buck resulting in more energy per pellet and deeper penetration. |

In 2005, we launched American COP Magazine as a hard-hitting, timely and gun-savvy publication with the goal of providing law enforcement with credible information they could trust. We wanted to address issues cops faced on- and off-duty every day and offer solutions to real-world problems in a tell it like it is style and we did for nearly a decade. While the publication may have ceased production in 2014, the problems facing cops never waned.

The 1911 pistol is one of the most copied handguns in history. Manufacturers worldwide have produced guns for military and civilian use that leave the factory ready to fight. In addition, the 1911 design has, and continues to be, the preferred platform for both manufacturers and custom gunsmiths in their attempts to elevate a pistol into a work of art.

Michigans top elected officials have serious problems staying in their lanes.
The state Supreme Court had to rebuke Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for setting aside the Legislature to take unilateral control of the state during the COVID-19 emergency.
And now Secretary of State Benson is way overstretching her constitutional authority to rewrite the states firearms laws.
The secretary issued an order Friday banning the open carry of pistols and rifles near polling places.
Michigan has very specific laws detailing where firearms can and cant be carried. There are very few restrictions on where a gun can be openly carried.
But the Constitution does not give her the power to write and impose new laws. Thats the Legislatures role. |

Some sheriffs say they won't enforce Michigan's top elections official's ban on openly carrying guns near polling places on Election Day.
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that Benzie County Sheriff Ted Schendel says Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson's guidance is "illegal" and she doesn't have the authority to make laws. Benson sent the guidance to clerks earlier this month, days after members of two anti-government paramilitary groups were charged with taking part in plotting the kidnapping of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. |

Customers entering the GunHo Indoor Shooting Range & Firearm Store in Pass Christian, Mississippi, push by a sign reading, "Leave the world outside this door." Salesman Daniel Fugere said the sign is intended to welcome everyone to the store. But for many, it's the world outside that drives them to buy a gun. "With everything going on today, people don't feel safe," he told Newsweek. "A lot of women come inmedical professionals who don't feel safe walking to their car at night and have never thought about having a gunand buy a firearm. They feel safer." |

On the night of August 25, 1994, a complicated package of legislation championed by then-Senator Joe Biden looked like it had gathered enough votes. Along with Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell, Biden stood in front of television cameras and reporters in the Senate TV gallery and declared victory. There are a lot of reasons, I think, for the American people to breathe a little sigh of relief today, Biden said. |

Throughout the two presidential debates and single vice-presidential debate the moderators did not ask a single question about gun control or the right to keep and bear arms. The dearth of coverage on Second Amendment issues at the debates follows a larger trend. Anti-gun lawmakers up and down the ballot, and even anti-gun organizations, have made the calculated decision to avoid gun control messaging in a year wracked by uncertainty. |

Earlier this year, in a ruling of first impression in Washington State, the Kitsap County District Court decided that the states compulsory firearm surrender laws violated the Fourth and Fifth Amendments and the analogous provisions in the state constitution. In our constitutional system of government, individuals have rights that the government and its agents (including courts) must respect. Among those rights are the right to be free from compelled self-incrimination under the Fifth Amendment, the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures under the Fourth Amendment, and their counterparts under Washingtons constitution. |

This gun-control activist really didnt like John R. Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center. She got right in Lotts face and began screaming. The thing is, we were in a congressional building. Lott had just finished testifying to a joint congressional committee. He was standing behind a long table facing the curving bench where the congressmen sit and was putting his papers in a briefcase after he had testified. The members of Congress and their staffs had mostly just left the room, but a lot of journalists, activists and spectators, as well as a few Capitol Hill police officers, were still in the large room. |

Thirty-eight years ago, I pulled the trigger on my first guna bolt-action rimfire rifle. The loud crack of the bullet leaving the rifle and hitting a soda can lit a spark inside mewhich has developed into a passion for the shooting sports. Steel Challenge is a great place for new shooters and youth shooters to begin their shooting career. Some of us havent left. Why Steel Challenge? Well for starters, the low barrier for entry can help to get younger family members involved in competitive shooting.
