"It seems odd to me, even un-American, how citizens of this great nation can have such conflicting views on subjects that affect all of us. A gentleman earns a permit to carry a concealed firearm, part of his Second Amendment rights, while a lady in the same town expresses her low opinion of the practice openly and in public, her rights also guaranteed under the First Amendment to our Constitution and one right comes to undermine the execution of the other?"

"Recently in Rochester, Minnesota, Mathew Halleck, a father of two, was seen walking his children to school. The issue was under his shirt mostly a concealed pistol a passersby could see barely protruding from his waistband." ...

Last weeks installment of this series asked a fundamental question: Do human beings have an unalienable right to self- defense? There is no question the founding fathers of our constitutional, representative republic believed they do, and they acknowledged that right in the Second Amendment. This was affirmed in the Supreme Courts decisions recognizing, for the first time in American history, that right: the Heller decision, and the McDonald decision, which applied the right to the states.

It is now time to consider a second, related question: DOES EVIL EXIST?

The answer to this question represents a fundamental dividing line between conservatives and socialists ..." ...

Yoshitomo Imura, a 28-year-old former employee at the Shonan Institute of Technology, learned Monday that he will spend two years in prison for the crime of using a 3-D printer to make guns in one of the most gun controlled nations on Earth. Police searching Imura's home found at least two (one source says six) printed plastic guns, including a .38 caliber revolver that had apparently successfully fired (blank) ammunition.

"Tired of listening to Progressives tell you that the Second Amendment only allows people in militias to keep and bear arms? Or that the Founders would have never intended the Second Amendment to apply to modern weapons? In his latest FIREWALL Bill recounts a remarkable conversation about the precise wording of the Second Amendment, and sums up why the document says what it means and means what it says."

My current favorite [irony] is the on-going revelation that adults who pursue careers in government agencies such as the Congress and the IRS; in litigation in state and federal courts; and in crews on commercial airlines, for example, are safer than our children in pre-schools; elementary schools; middle schools; high schools and universities. ...

Or consider the following ... over the 30,000 years of human history, the present era is safer than at any time in the past. But, looking at shorter, more recent periods of time, we are in a period of increasing violence. There are over 325 million guns in America ... Assault weapons with huge caches of bullets are readily available. With increasing frequency they are being used to commit violent acts.

"With President Obama and other U.S. officials expressing concern about so-called lone wolf terrorist attacks, and in light of the recent shooting in Ottawa along with a hatchet-wielding terrorist in New York City, Judge Andrew Napolitano has a rather simple solution."

"The best way to stop 'lone wolf' terror attacks is through 'an armed citizenry.'"

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
You are bound to meet misfortune if you are unarmed because, among other reasons, people despise you....There is simply no comparison between a man who is armed and one who is not. It is unreasonable to expect that an armed man should obey one who is unarmed, or that an unarmed man should remain safe and secure when his servants are armed. In the latter case, there will be suspicion on the one hand and contempt on the other, making cooperation impossible. Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince."
