"Peter Hamm, spokesman for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, contended in a Fox News report that self-defense advocates have no business on college campuses."
Hamm should know by now that his organization cannot prevent violence. The anti-violence movement is a boondoggle.
"This was the week for the Empty Handgun Holster Protest, where college students wore their holsters to demonstrate several highlights about armed self-defense as the optimal answer to school shootings."
"The Empty Holster protest shows ... that person has a civil right to be armed wherever he/she goes, and no one else really has anything to say about it, least of all organizations seeking to dismantle a civil right." ... |

"Others in the pro-gun grassroots community have reported on this issue, including Ryan Horsley of Red's Trading Post, and numerous other bloggers. Working together, it is our hope that we can continue our mutual efforts to reform BATFE once and for all to reduce and eliminate unjust harassment of legitimate gun dealers."

"Amazing that the first movies parents took their tots to in the 30s and 40s were the early Disney features. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Dumbo all exploited childhood traumas. Parents disappear or die; stepmothers plot the murder of their charges; a boy skips school and turns into a donkey. Kids were so frightened by these films that they wet themselves in terror. Bambi, directed by David Hand, has a primal shock that still haunts oldsters who saw it 40, 50, 65 years ago." -------

FULL TEXT BELOW:
Fine Gael is claiming that the Gardai are not being properly equipped to tackle rising gun crime in Ireland.
Party spokesman Denis Naughten says official figures show that the number of officers authorised to carry firearms has actually fallen by more than 10% in the past five years.
He also says the Gardai do not have access to a dedicated firearms training range and have to use unsuitable army facilities.
Mr Naughten says this results from a legacy of persistent under-resourcing that has left Gardai ill-equipped to deal with gun crime and gangland criminals. -------

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.' The right of the whole people, old and young, men, women and boys, and not militia only, to keep and bear arms of every description, and not such merely as are used by the militia, shall not be infringed, curtailed, or broken in upon, in the smallest degree; and all this for the important end to be attained: the rearing up and qualifying a well-regulated militia, so vitally necessary to the security of a free State. Our opinion is that any law, State or Federal, is repugnant to the Constitution, and void, which contravenes this right. [Nunn vs. State, 1 Ga. (1 Kel.) 243, at 251 (1846)] |
