Every firearms instructor has heard this before-

Id get a gun except I dont want the government to know that I have it. Id carry the gun, but I dont want to get my permit and be on a government list.

Lets give people with this attitude the benefit of doubt. Are they safer being armed or unarmed?

AK: Decades after I learned how to build a rifle cartridge, the process still satisfies

Winters on the North Dakota prairie didn't match Alaska's length of service under a blanket of snow, but for sheer bad behavior, nothing in Southcentral Alaska beats them.

Days would pass when we weren't allowed to leave the house, lest we got lost in the yard. One morning, after a couple of days of blizzard conditions, the storm broke and I was anxious to get outside. I charged the front door and opened it to a solid wall of white. We had to crawl out a window and shovel our way back in, just to get out.

Those days of confinement weren't for naught. I watched my dad do myriad things related to hunting and guns, not the least of which was handloading.

Four people wearing masks were shot at while trying to break into a Hixson home Tuesday night. It happened on Thrasher Pike. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says the homeowner fired gunshots after catching them in the act.

It's not clear if the homeowner is licensed to carry, but you don't have to have a carry permit to shoot an intruder who unlawfully comes into your home, a house/building you're visiting or even your car, according to state law.

Earlier this year I wrote about the Rex Zero 1 Tactical. It left me very impressed with not only its reliability and accuracy but also its workmanship. So when the manufacturer Arex and the US importer and distributor, FIME Group invited me on an all-expense paid trip to Slovenia to see the factory and shoot the new pistols that will be rolled out at SHOT Show; I couldn't say no.

We can talk about the factory visit next time out. This time I want to tell you about their newest pistol: The Arex Rex Delta Pistol.

If you have a license to carry a gun, under the Self Defense Act, you may have to give it up if you want a license for medical marijuana.

The federal government does not allow citizens to have both.

The Okalhoma State Bureau of Investigation says anyone who has a Self Defense Act license will have it revoked if they apply for a medical marijuana card.

Oklahoma lawmaker, State Representative Jon Echols, says he will present a bill to keep Oklahoma from enforcing the federal standards.

This November, voters will be asked to decide on I-1639, labeled as Safe School Safe Community law. Actually is a ploy by liberals to disarm law-abiding citizens.

Does this confiscate our weapons? No, not at this time, but with regulations within this law, one is basically disarmed.

Our Constitution states, A well and regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

A group of gun rights activists, dressed in kilts, will be showing off their 2nd amendment rights Friday (Oct. 4).

The Patriots of Act 746, a Second Amendment activist group, are hosting an Open Carry Kilt Walk on Dickson Street in Fayetteville at 6 p.m. on Friday.

'How often do you get to see grown men walking around in skirts, carrying guns?' said Chuck Clifton, a member of the Patriots of Act 746.

The group said they chose to wear kilts as a way to show honor for several group members' Scottish roots.

A woman who police say shot her boyfriend after he battered her and held her captive for several hours in Thousand Oaks Friday night will not see any time behind bars, the Ventura County Sheriffs Office said.

Shes been released from the hospital and will not be arrested, said Sgt. Eric Buschow. She had every right to defend herself in the situation.

Police received a call just after midnight Sept. 29 regarding a domestic violence incident in which someone had been shot. While responding to the Los Robles Apartment complex in the 300 block of Rolling Oaks Drive, deputies came across Raphael Bhatti, 25, in his car on Moorpark Road near the 101 Freeway.

The ad features NRA-ILA executive director Chris Cox discussing your right to defend yourself and your family with a firearm in your own home. He stresses the current situation on the Courtfour Supreme Court justices believe that right exists and four do not. He then explains that Kavanaugh will be the fifth vote in favor of your right to self-defense.

The Washington State Sheriffs Association (WSSA), Washington Council of Police & Sheriffs (WACOPS) and Washington State Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association (WSLEFIA) are opposing Initiative 1639, the 30-page gun control measure on the November ballot.

Law enforcement professionals recognize the extreme nature of I-1639, said Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Not only does the initiative discriminate against gun owners, it classifies common recreational firearms as semiautomatic assault rifles and requires gun buyers to surrender their medical privacy in order to exercise a constitutionally-protected right.

A U.S. District Judge last week refused to issue an injunction halting enforcement of New Jerseys new ban on magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

Enacted in June by Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy after a multi-year push by state lawmakers, the new law reduces the legal maximum capacity of detachable magazines in the state from 15 to 10 rounds. Second Amendment advocates filed an immediate legal challenge to the ban, set to take effect in December, and last week lost the first round of their fight.

Oklahoma Second Amendment Association President Don Spencer said the Oklahoma City Zoo is taking away citizens' right to carry guns with its current policy.

Body camera video shows him at the zoo sitting down to eat a burger when officials approach him.

"We do have a policy that you can't carry a weapon on zoo grounds, so you'd have to return it to your vehicle or leave the grounds," the official can be heard saying.

"The policy is illegal. It's out of compliance with state law," Spencer responded.

Republicans are on the cusp of confirming to the Supreme Court a nominee with a radical interpretation of the Second Amendment, a judge who has refused to acknowledge the difference between a handgun or hunting rifle safely stored in someones home and an assault weapon that can kill dozens of people in seconds. Instead, his judicial opinions indicate he believes the Second Amendment guarantees Americans the right to have access to AR-15 style rifles the same kinds of guns used to commit mass murders in Parkland, Fla., and at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Blake Watson saw an opportunity in Seymour.

And it appears his instincts were correct when he and his brother, McCoy, opened Second Amendment Guns at Seymours eastern edge at 1582 East Clinton Avenue in a location known to many as the former Uncle Roosters.

I lived in Diggins, my family was here, my home was here, and I saw a need here, Blake Watson explained.

There wasnt a place where people could buy guns in the area between Mountain Grove and Springfield, and this was a site where we had a good highway location, so I guess you could say that we went for it.

Pennsylvania lawmakers Wednesday passed the first anti-violence legislation in more than a decade that deals directly with firearms, after years of lobbying by violence-prevention groups to persuade a Legislature historically protective of gun rights.

The bill would force people in Pennsylvania with a domestic violence ruling against them to more quickly surrender their guns, and advocates say February's Parkland, Fla., high school shooting that killed 17 people and the Me Too movement helped propel it.

The Republican-controlled Senate voted 43-5 Wednesday to send the bill to Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf, who plans to sign it.

People really view that office as the Second Amendment office in the Cabinet, and Ive got a very strong record when it comes to that. . .. Unlike my opponents, I have never voted against our Second Amendment rights, to expand Obamacare in Florida, or to raise taxes on hard working Florida families.

Andrew Gillum, candidate to be the next Democrat Governor Florida, has been touted by many on the left as the future. However, he has taken one very old playbook from those who seek to destroy our Second Amendment rights out.

He is willing to defend anything or anyone to punish law-abiding gun citizens for the acts of criminals and nutcases by restricting our rights.

The two candidates running for Massachusetts attorney general tussled Wednesday over issues related to gun rights, drug addiction and immigration.

Democratic incumbent Maura Healey faced off against Republican challenger James Jay McMahon in a half-hour televised debate hosted by WGBH. Each candidate is asking for the support of Massachusetts voters in the general election Nov. 6.

McMahon, a lifelong resident of Cape Cod, won the Republican nomination last month after beating Dan Shores of Hingham in the primary election. Healey ran unopposed.
