A Girl & A Gun welcomed 12 women who traveled to Grand Junction, CO, for the inaugural Sniper School event. Comprising riflecraft and fieldcraft instruction blocks, AG & AG Sniper School utilized several areas of the Cameo Shooting and Education Complex that served as the perfect backdrop for learning internal and external ballistics, wind, mirage, concealment, movement, angles, and more. Sniper/spotter teams engaged targets up to and beyond 2,000 yards in the mountainous desert terrain. |

A recent study by the Crime Prevention Research Center underscored how easily public opinion polling can be used to distort, rather than illuminate, peoples true feelings on gun control. Policy-makers should take note. Sound policy requires a thoughtful and sophisticated understanding of facts and evidence, not just the shifting whims of public perception. Emotionalism, on the other hand, is the way anti-gun extremists would like to run our government. Gun ban advocates constantly point to survey results they help manufacture usually in the wake of some highly-charged incident, before all the facts are known as justification for imposing draconian restrictions on our Second Amendment rights. |

NSSF is pleased the court dismissed Mexicos misguided and baseless lawsuit against members of the firearm industry that sought to blame them for Mexicos unwillingness and inability to bring Mexican drug cartels to justice in Mexican courtrooms. The court correctly dismissed the case by properly applying the bipartisan Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) that bars lawsuits against firearm manufacturers and sellers for the criminal misuse by remote third parties, here Mexican cartels, of lawfully sold firearms. Like the court, we sympathize with the plight of the Mexican people and the criminal violence involving illegal firearms they have endured. |

If there were ever two handgun cartridges that could be classified as ubiquitously American, then it would be the 45 Long Colt and the 45 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP). With a combined service life of over two centuries, both have served as the sidearm cartridge for the U.S. Army and are still used in various applications today in civilian circles.

Fellow NRA members, this month Im sending an important message to everyone who cherishes our way of lifevote. Once again, our right to bear arms, enshrined in the Second Amendment, is being challenged by those who know little or nothing about firearms or, worse, simply want to trample on the Constitution and everything that it stands for. Training programs, informal competitions, sanctioned matches, collecting historical pieces and even being able to visit a public range will become distant memories without the right elected officials in office. |

Tyler Shandro, the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General for the Conservative government in the Canadian Province of Alberta, recently tweeted a copy of an August 19 letter from Marco Mendicino, the latest federal minister responsible for implementing Prime Minister Trudeaus gun ban and confiscation (buyback).
