The French police employee who killed four of his colleagues at the Paris police headquarters on Thursday was a recent convert to Islam, according to French television BFM TV.
The 45-year-old attacker killed three police officers and an administrative worker, three men and one woman, before being shot and killed by police. Officials so far have not publicly released a motive, and are trying to discover if there was a terrorism link. The mans wife has been taken in custody.
Submitter's Note: This just goes to show that you don't need a gun to commit mass murder. Note also that the attack was stopped with a gun. |

On Wednesday, anti-gun news outlet MSNBC, along with their partner organizations Giffords and March for Our Lives, hosted nine Democrat candidates for President for what was billed as a Gun Safety Forum. Most of the time was spent by candidates and anti-gun activists railing against guns, NRA, and occasionally, President Donald Trump.
As one can imagine, there really wasnt much new discussed, as candidates continued to try to convince Democrat voters that each is the most anti-gun choice. At times, it seemed like a fight might break out over who had the most outrageous scheme to disarm law-abiding Americans. |

Well, it happened. Against the cries of many Floridians, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act went into effect this week. Teachers trained as part of the Guardian Program are now able to secretly carry a firearm on Florida elementary, middle, and high school campuses. Passed in May, the bill allowed for the arming of teachers, making an exception for teachers whose only function is instruction. That means, as long as a teacher has another duty besides instruction, like coaching, they would be eligible to carry. |

The Supreme Court has promised a historical justification for bans on felons, and we believe that we have presented compelling evidence that the Court must have been referring to the tradition of disarming dangerous and violent people, explained FPC Director of Research and brief author, Joseph Greenlee. Since countless non-violent felons are being denied their rights every dayincluding many who have been law-abiding for several decades, like Mr. Medinawe are hopeful that the Court will accept the case and clarify its intent. |

Gun owners, rights activists, and lovers of liberty will be gathering on the lawn of the Capitol in Washington DC on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, at 1:00 in the afternoon.
If you live within 200 miles of DC, there is little excuse for missing this critical event, and many people who live much farther away will be doing whatever it takes to be there. Buses are being arranged by local groups from as far away as New York, Ohio, and South Carolina. Check with your local groups to see what arrangements are being made, and if they arent doing anything, take the initiative and volunteer to be the local coordinator to take reservations and rent a bus or van. |

To claim there is a correlation with increased concealed carry and increased firearms injuries sounds plausible; it is not supported by fact. If it were, we should see a measurable increase in fatal firearms accidents over the last 30 years. We do not. The number of concealed carry permit holders has increased from 2.7 million in 1999 to over 17.25 million a year ago.
During the same period, fatal firearms accidents have decreased from 824 to 486, with the rate decreasing from .29 per 100,000 population in 1999 to .15 per hundred population, in 2018, almost in half. There may be other factors, but if the legal carry of guns increases firearms accidents, it is an exceedingly small amount, which is beyond measurement. |

Before the court could act, San Francisco Mayor Breed put out a formal memorandum to City officials that no [municipal] department will take steps to restrict any contractor from doing business with the NRA or to restrict City contracting opportunities for any business that has any relationship with the NRA.
Meanwhile, and perhaps even more importantly, the U.S. Supreme Court should decide this week whether to proceed with New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. City of New York. |

Consequently, a person needs to be very careful what they post and say. Posting on social media, late at nightespecially after consuming adult libationsmay not be a very good idea. Boasting about what you will do if/when a person breaks into your home may be a real mistake. That harmless joke that you posted may not seem quite so harmless when it is read to a jury. |

Q. Did you intend to make such a bold statement to the members of the House Judiciary Committee?
No, not at all! Earlier in the hearing, a gentleman in the audience interrupted the hearing and asked to testify on behalf of the millions of gun owners who would not comply with an unconstitutional law. I turned around and saw the shirt he was wearing that said, we will not comply. In my testimony, I refer to him and say, Im with the gentlemen that was escorted out, I will not comply. It was just an honest conversation I was having with members of Congress. |

Authorities will not pursue charges in the death of a 30-year-old Durango man who was shot and killed in August near the Colorado-New Mexico state line.
Upon reviewing the investigation and evidence in the case, and after discussing thoroughly with the investigating officers from the La Plata County Sheriffs Office, the District Attorneys Office has determined that there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction in this case, and has thus declined to file charges, 6th Judicial District Attorney Christian Champagne wrote in an email to The Durango Herald. |
