By imposing such a ban on an entire class of weapons, the statutes and regulations exceed the power of the United States, the complaint states. It makes its case by citing violations of Article I of the United States Constitution, the Second, Ninth and Tenth Amendments, and principles of federalism and dual sovereignty."

Traffic stops turned into booty calls for one deviant cop.
An ex-Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper admitted to coercing four female motorists into sex acts and photographing some of the encounters.
Bryan Lee, 30, of Lancaster, Ohio, pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to four counts of unreasonable search and seizure and one count of cyber stalking after a dash camera in his police cruiser showed traffics stops gone wildly wrong, WBNS reported.
An eight-year member of the force, Lee resigned in October 2013 after state police brought in the FBI to help investigate the trooper, WTTE reported.

A Florida Cop of the Month allegedly raped a woman on the hood of his patrol car while he was on duty, police said.
Boynton Beach police arrested their own Stephen Maiorino Thursday for the alleged incident.
The eight-year force veteran who earned an "Officer of the Month" award in 2010 and appeared on two national TV shows for his all-star cop accomplishments will be fired, Police Chief Jeffrey S. Katz said in a statement.
Police said the 35-year-old cop picked up a woman earlier this month, raped her while holding a gun and threatened to arrest and kill her.

Deputy Washington County Attorney Ryan Shaum discussed details Friday surrounding a fatal shooting that occurred in Leeds in July and a decision that has been made by the Washington County Attorneys Office not to bring any charges in the case.

Once all the evidence did come in, we affirmed what it appeared from the beginning, and that was a self-defense claim, Shaum said.

Laws that expand gun rights, help combat domestic violence, create new abortion restrictions and expand the punishment for human trafficking are scheduled to go into effect Saturday.

They are among about 250 laws approved by the Oklahoma Legislature and signed by Gov. Mary Fallin this year that begin Nov. 1. Others, including budget-related measures that direct state agencies' expenditures, took effect earlier.

There is a reason that an individuals right to gun ownership is in the Constitution.

Joseph Story who, as one of the finest legal minds of the 19th century and the author of one of the greatest treatises on the Constitution, is, admittedly, no Paul Begala explained that "the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered as the palladium of the liberties of a republic."

Is it completely fantastic that the government might so disregard peoples rights that they would have to undertake to defend those rights themselves? It happened in this country in living memory.

The National Rifle Association's new campaign ad shows a woman alone at home and when an intruder suddenly breaks into the house. The NRA concludes that Florida Governor Rick Scott is the guy who protect her.

Not long ago, NRA was in love with Charlie Crist.

First up in Washington is Initiative 594, the most expensive gun-related ballot measure of the season. If it gets the votes, the law would, as Mother Jones explains, "expand background checks for gun purchases online, at gun shows, or through private transactions, closing the so-called loophole in federal law."

The campaign to pass it has attracted significant contributions and support from around the country. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has boosted the campaign with $1 million in donations. Bloomberg's "Everytown for Gun Safety" group has poured in another $4 million.

The parents of two of the children slain at Sandy Hook 6-year-old Dylan Hockley and 7-year-old Daniel Barden spoke at a recent rally for I-594.

A campaign advertisement by John Lewis, Montanas Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representative, claims Lewis has received an A for his Second Amendment stance from the National Rifle Association its highest rating, as the ad explains.

While the NRA has not given an endorsement in Montanas race for the U.S. House, the claim of the Lewis campaign invites scrutiny, given that the highest rating possible is A+ the rating held by Montanas U.S. Senate candidate Steve Daines. Lewis received an A(q), which means the rating is with qualification, based on the candidates responses to the NRAs candidate questionnaire.

A recent Gainesville home invasion has raised questions about the use of deadly force. News's 12 looked into the specifics of the "Stand Your Ground" law.

The right of the people to keep bear arms is a Second Amendment constitutional right.

But the right to defend one's self, property or home varies between states. They are known as "Stand Your Ground" laws and "Castle Doctrine."

"Every man has a right to protect his property and his family," said Jessie Jordan, a Texas resident.

Alabamas state motto is: We dare defend our rights.

So it should perhaps come as no surprise there is a referendum on November 4 to strengthen the right to bear arms in the state.

The United States Bill of Rights already provides for the right to keep and bear arms, as does Alabamas state constitution.

But if approved the referendum would strengthen this right, inserting the word fundamental into the constitution.

Amendment Three provides that every citizen has a fundamental right to bear arms and that any restriction on this right would be subject to strict scrutiny; and to provide that no international treaty or law shall prohibit, limit, otherwise interfere with a citizens fundamental right to bear arms.

Voters have the choice to vote yes or no to the Amendment.

If the Amendment is passed, the right to bear arms would be elevated under the state Constitution to a fundamental right and given the highest possible protection.

This right would also be provided with additional protection from potential interference by international treaty or foreign law.

Support for gun laws has shrunk by more than 10 percent since the tragic school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, a new Gallup poll finds. After the December 2012 shooting, the percentage of Americans favoring stricter firearm sale laws spiked to 58 percent. Now less than half 47 percent of Americans support tightening gun restrictions, compared to 38 percent of Americans who believe gun laws should stay as they are and 14 percent who would like to see laws loosened.

It appears that I-594 is surging towards acceptance in Washington state, thanks to more than $10 million in spending by anti-gun billionaires Michael Bloomberg, Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, Paul Allen, and Nick Hanauer. Theyve conned a lot of very gullible Washington voters into believing that I-594 will somehow prevent crime, despite near universal condemnation from law enforcement professionals who consider the legislation unenforceable.

But what, exactly, does I-594 actually do?

Since the 2012 Newtown school shooting, major anti-gun groups like Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action (both funded by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg) have been pushing for more legal requirements during gun sales, better known as "universal background checks." But a new survey from Gallup shows those efforts haven't paid off and that the majority of the country does not support an increase in gun control laws. The survey also shows support for new legislation has plummeted since 2012.

A constitutional amendment on the Alabama ballot would affirm that the right to bear arms is a fundamental right" and any regulation of firearms is subject to strict scrutiny in court.

A similar measure passed in Missouri during the August primary. In both cases, legislators argued that the state required higher legal protections for gun rights. They are part of a larger wave of gun laws passed in red states in the past two years.

"I've been with the NRA for 20 years, and I've never seen a more despicable politician than Pat Hays, and if he's willing to lie about this, he's willing to lie about anything," said NRA lobbyist Chris Cox.

The NRA sent a cease and desist letter to the DPA and the Hays campaign. Hill says he's the only candidate with an "A" rating from the NRA and calls the DPA mailer misleading.

"My opponent has an "F" and yet he is out talking about that he got some fundraising letter, and somehow he's got a relationship with the NRA. So, to me its just more nonsense of the campaign," said Hill.

594 would require universal background checks for gun sales, no matter the venue, while 591 would prohibit background checks in the state unless Congress passes a national standard that would restrict all regions equally. We are heartbroken that gun violence has once again touched a Washington school, read a note from the 594-supporting Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility, shortly after Fridays shooting. 591 supporters hit back immediately, saying the opposing initiative would have had no impact on the shooting because the shooter was a minor and its already illegal for a minor to purchase a gun.

Background checks for guns. Less than two weeks after a deadly school shooting in Marysville, Washington, voters across the state will decide whether to approve two competing initiatives which would change the background check requirements on gun salesone would impose a requirement on all gun sales including those online and at gun shows, while the other would prohibit Washington from enforcing a background check requirement unless the federal government acts to create a uniform national standard. If both initiatives pass, a messy legal battle could be in Washingtons future.

A vote for Mary Landrieu is a vote against your gun rights as Mary Landrieu supports Obamas anti-gun agenda and even voted in favor of the United Nations Arm Treaty which would basically eradicate the second amendment. A vote for Mary Landrieu is a vote in favor of abortion as, over the last two years, Landrieu has been 100 percent pro-abortion.

Todays Seattle Times carries a fairly detailed, cover-lots-of-bases story about Initiative 591 that asserts in the headline that an advertisement for the measure misrepresents law enforcement.

The Seattle Times recommended a No vote on I-591 back on July 5, while endorsing rival Initiative 594, the 18-page gun control measure. Todays story on the I-591 campaign claim that I-591 is supported by law enforcement in the form of two major organizations, the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs (WACOPS) and Washington State Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association (WSLEFIA) is dubbed half true by the newspapers Truth Needle.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state government, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.
