Buried in the Seattle Times coverage of Tuesdays passage in Washington State of gun control Initiative 1639 is a quote from anti-gun state Attorney General Bob Ferguson that strongly suggests political hypocrisy.
According to the story, State Attorney General Bob Ferguson, an I-1639 supporter, said he would defend the measure in court if need be. Well have a job to do and well do it, Ferguson said. |

The Democrats are coming for your guns, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times reported on Friday. The new majority of angry leftists, which includes open socialists and economic illiterates such as former barmaid Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, openly discussed their plans for tough gun control they mistakenly believe will stop mass shootings. |

Nearly half a million hunters in Arkansas will be afield today for the opening day of modern gun deer season. Although Arkansas is famous for its world-class duck hunting, it is also one of the top deer-hunting states in the South in terms of both numbers of deer taken and quality of bucks, or male deer. Opening weekend of the modern gun deer season is also our state's biggest event in terms of participation. |

In the District, as elsewhere, many attacks in which a weapon is shown, or actually used, involve knives, as in three incidents here in the past three days. On Saturday, police said an assailant tried to stab someone about 1 p.m. in the 3900 block of Connecticut Avenue NW. On Friday, someone was stabbed about noon in the 4500 block of Benning Road SE. On Thursday a knife was brandished and a threat was made about 10 a.m. in the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW, police said. |

Often times, the media is just dreadful when it comes to reporting on firearms and Second Amendment issues. They continue to misname, misreport, and get parts of guns laws just wrong. Is it deliberate? Its hard to suggest otherwise. This isnt the first rodeo and the fact that laws that have been on the books for decades, like 18-year-olds being able to buy long guns, are treated like some shocking discovery a la Watergate continues to be an embarrassing moment for the elite media. Its all about the narrative. |

Much is made about the gun and ammunition you carry with. Lots of people talk about guns all the time and its fun! Guns are also fun! You go to the range, do some shooting, its a good time. The only thing is the gun actually matters less than youd think. Basically, as long as you arent trying to conceal a Walker Colt, Desert Eagle or H&K Mark 23 concealing isnt that hard with most guns. What does matter for concealed carry? |

It looks like an AR-15; it feels like an AR-15; and it can serve as a cool way to introduce newcomers to the concept of a Modern Sporting Rifle without scaring them away with the noise, recoil and cost of ammunition. Its the Crosman DPMS SBR Full Auto BB rifle. Ill admit I was a little bit skeptical. I mean, could a BB guneven one that lets you fire on automaticreally be that much fun if youre not a kid? The short answer is, yes! The long answer is a little more complicated, but still yes. So Im glad I decided to give it a go.

Hunters prepared at the Dane County Law Enforcement Training Center Sunday afternoon for the opening of gun deer season on Nov. 17. The gun range at the Dane County Law Enforcement Training Center is typically used by officials, but every year for the two weeks leading up to the opening of gun deer season, it is available for hunters to sight-in. Officials with the Dane County Sheriff's Office will help hunters align the scopes on their guns, and then will work with them as they shoot targets. |

What is one of the biggest changes in shooting in the last generation? Bonded bullets? High capacity? Polymer pistols? Nope, the rules. As in: The four rules. (See below for the full set.) Codified by the late Jeff Cooper, at Gunsite, the four rules of safe gunhandling have been passed on by every shooter through Gunsite, and beyond, to the point that there are people who dont know where they originated. A lot of shooters just know them, kind of like the background microwave radiation: it has always been there. |

Gun rights advocates got shut out in Washington State on Tuesday, when more than 60 percent of the voters gave a thumbs up to one of the nations most restrictive gun laws on the books. That puts Washington near the top of the list for the title of state with the most gun control. Unfortunately, Washington has been moving toward trying to claim that title for a couple of years. In 2014, voters gave the nod to a requirement for background checks for private gun sales; and in 2016, they said it would be OK for the courts to prevent people who might be deemed a danger to themselves or others from buying a gun. |

A mocking tweet from the National Rifle Association has stirred many physicians to post on social media about their tragically frequent experiences treating patients in the aftermath of gun violence. Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane, the NRA tweeted on Thursday. Half of the articles in Annals of Internal Medicine are pushing for gun control. Most upsetting, however, the medical community seems to have consulted NO ONE but themselves. |

For the Lackey family of Oklahoma City, deer hunting is very much a family tradition. We pretty much don't plan anything big from October to Jan. 15, as far as things that would take from our ability to hunt and be out in the woods together, said Darin Lackey, who teaches at Francis Tuttle Technology Center in Oklahoma City and is a father of two sons. |
