A picture of a Kahr PM9 pistol with a Tiffany blue frame, packed in a famous Tiffany box with a Tiffany necklace draped over it is making the rounds on social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram. I have seen plenty of comments asking where to get the gun. I understand why. What womans smile doesnt get brighter when handed that distinctive blue box? Whats even better than jewelry? A 9mm inside that rather large Tiffany box. I know where to get it, but you have to read to find out. |

If I had a dollar for every time I heard, I cant rack the slide. Its too hard, Id probably have a condo in the Keys. In fact, when I started shooting, I thought I wasnt able to operate all semi-automatic handguns either. Believe me, ladies; I understand your slide intimidation. However, have no fear! Regardless of what you may think, it is not your strength or lack thereof that enables you to rack a slide properlyits learning the correct technique. |

As of Wednesday night, no charges had been filed in the case. |

The wife actually fired twice to keep him out, said Sgt. Keith Rakoncza on the sheriffs department.
Rakoncza said Liberini then went around back and broke through a bedroom window and came at the husband despite his warnings. |

Detroit police Sgt. Michael Woody said 911 dispatchers received a call about 1 a.m. to report a non-injury car accident several blocks north of where the shooting later occurred. The caller said the driver fled after hitting a parked car, but Woody said no units were sent because the call was lower priority and police were tied up with other calls.
Woody said another caller said the driver was back at the vehicle about a half-hour later, but nobody was there by the time police and rescue workers arrived. He said the car belongs to a member of McBride's family and that police believe McBride was driving it when it was wrecked but can't prove it. |

The committee did approve one change in separate bill. By a 12-1 vote, the lawmakers passed a proviso ensuring that people who fire a warning shot when feeling threatened arent subject to the minimum mandatory sentencing law called 10-20-Life.
The bill is a response to the case of Marissa Alexander, a Jacksonville woman who was sentenced to the mandatory 20 years in prison for aggravated assault for firing a shot in the air to ward off her husband during a domestic dispute. Ms. Alexander used the Stand Your Ground law to claim immunity from prosecution, but a jury found her guilty. |

A proposed move to add a stand your ground provision to Ohio law is moving in the wrong direction, a Cincinnati state representative told a General Assembly committee Wednesday.
In an unusual move, Rep. Alicia Reece, D-Bond Hill, was allowed to testify against the bill in a House committee Wednesday, speaking from her role as head of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus. Under the bill, sponsored by Rep. Terry Johnson, R-McDermott, Ohioans would be allowed to fire a gun in self-defense without first retreating from an attacker. |

A Bowdon man convicted of murder in a Carroll County trial earlier this year has been named as a plaintiff in a federal suit challenging Georgias stand your ground law. Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the civil rights group led by the Rev. Jesse Jackson, filed a federal lawsuit last week aimed at getting the law thrown out, arguing the statute is arbitrary and unequally applied. Listed as a plaintiff is Herman Lee Smith III, 21, who was sentenced to life in prison in August for the 2012 killing of 20-year-old Cardarius Steagall. |

Combees bill, House Bill 89, would give immunity to people who use the threat of a gun to halt an attack on themselves or their property.
Last year, a similar bill Combee sponsored never made it out of committee, but he thinks the time has come to fix the law. It was the first bill heard in committee for the 2014 legislative session and passed the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee on Thursday by a 12-1 vote. |

Meanwhile, more than a few of the regimes sitting on the UN council have views on human rights that are literally diametrically opposed to the God-given rights of Americans. The communist regime in Beijing, for instance, released a report claiming that the constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms is actually a human-rights violation. Such totalitarian views are shared by numerous other UN Human Rights Council member regimes, including the socialist autocracy in Venezuela, which recently disarmed the public with UN help. |

GOP lieutenant governor candidate Dan Patrick is playing CNN on Fox News.
In his third TV ad of the campaign, Patrick mines his appearance last spring on CNNs Piers Morgan Live, during which the state senator from Houston decried gun control. The ad is running on Fox News in major Texas markets.
This is not Tokyo, this is not Finland, Patrick said. This is the United States of America, and in America, where law-abiding citizens have guns, crime is down. |

After every instance of a publicized shooting, the alarm to repeal the Second Amendment or to change its meaning sounds loudly from gun control advocates.
The main fallacy here lies in the assertion that the cause of a murderous madmans shooting spreesuch as what recently happened at the Los Angeles International Airportis a constitutional right to keep and bear arms, and not an unarmed public. |

In fewer than four months, three firearms manufacturers announced plans to move or expand their business to South Carolina, investing $17.4 million and promising to create nearly 400 jobs.
All three companies cited many of the same reasons other manufacturers list for locating in the Palmetto State: dynamic workforce training programs, low business costs and strong infrastructure.
However, the states political culture that supports Second Amendment gun rights has emerged as another arrow in the states economic development quiver. |

Two months after they played a pivotal role in the recall of two Colorado state senators who had helped pass gun-control legislation, Dudley Brown and the National Association for Gun Rights are fast becoming one of the premier political forces in the nation on behalf of the right to keep and bear arms.
"That's because we strive to make our opponents pay for every damn inch they try to take. They are going to own gun control," said Brown, a onetime staffer for conservative former Republican Sen. Bill Armstrong of Colorado and a gun lobbyist for more than 20 years. "We apologize for nothing. We don't believe in compromise as a strategy for protecting our constitutional rights. |

Ralph Hess rarely offers personal opinions on subject matters because, as an attorney and former judge, he goes by the facts. So when the League of Women Voters asked him to be on a gun regulations panel, he researched statistics and recent court cases.
Wendy and Len Algen, on the other hand, are sport shooters and hunters, and are affiliated with the National Rifle Association. They, along with Prescott Police Chief Jerald Monahan, joined Hess Nov. 2 on the League's Gun Regulation: Too Much or Too Little panel at Las Fuentes Retirement Center. Panel members answered three questions before taking written questions from the audience of nearly 50 community members.

Selectman Barry Greenfield has come under fire for asking during last weeks selectmen meeting if the town has the right to enforce a state law that requires guns to be locked up when stored in a home.
Greenfields call to look into the issue has erupted all over the Internet and made the first-term selectman a target for gun-rights supporters from across the country. Since last weeks meeting, Greenfield has been inundated with emails and phone calls, many of them making personal attacks, and petitions calling for his resignation. |

Were one to judge by the first moments of last Wednesday's presentation on new firearm regulations, Humboldt County gun owners would appear to be an extraordinarily polite set of people.
Dozens of them, many wearing Mossy Oak camo, jammed into Pacific Outfitters in Eureka. Every folding chair was quickly filled so staff dragged ice chests out onto the floor as makeshift seating. Chairs were offered to older attendees, refused and then offered again. Backs were slapped and hands shook as old friends caught up. Then, as Sam Paredes, executive director of Gun Owners of California, ascended the stairwell and cleared his throat, the crowd fell into a respectful hush. |

Far from dead, legislation expanding background checks before gun sales still has a chance of passing this Congress, Democratic leaders in the House and Senate said Wednesday.
While the background check issue has been dormant on Capitol Hill since the Senate shot down such a proposal earlier in the year, Democrats argue that enough pressure on House GOP leaders would return the topic to prominence and force a floor vote before next year's mid-term elections.
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said the combination of public outrage at mass shootings and an animated advocacy front has created conditions like those that catalyzed the enactment of stricter gun laws roughly 20 years ago. |

The United Gun Owners of New York State have one simple goal: to get the legislature to repeal the SAFE Act. The law was written, proposed, voted on by both the state Senate and the Assembly and signed by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in January 2013, just weeks after the mass killings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. UGONYS members object to both the way it was passed - many legislators have confessed to not having read the law before voting on it - and for its infringement on their Second Amendment right to bear arms. |
