While Donald Trump was winning the day nationally on November 8, voters in Kansas and Indiana were enshrining that hunting and fishing are constitutional rights. The Wichita Eagle reports that an overwhelming majority of voters supported amending the Kansas constitution to include a right to hunt and fish. The push to do so arose after lawmakers watched anti-hunting activists in other states use lawsuits to diminish hunting or do away with certain hunts altogether.

Some upper-income Texans are headed down below, not Australia, but below the surface.

An investor group is planning for a doomsday scenario by building a $300 million luxury community replete with underground homes. There will also be air-lock blast doors designed for people worried about a dirty bomb or other disaster and off-grid energy and water production.

The development, called Trident Lakes, is northeast of Dallas.

Residents will enjoy an equestrian center, 18-hole golf course, polo fields, zip lines and gun ranges. Retail shops, restaurants and a row of helipads are also in the works. For those looking to get away, theyll also be able to enjoy three white sand beaches and a neighborhood spa.

We have a winner! It is a Henry Big Boy Steel lever-action rifle, a product that I previously considered to be second rate from a company that I held in low regard. A disclaimer is in order, but first things first. My Henry Big Boy Steel is chambered in the obscure .41 Remington Magnum. It is the only factory rifle currently in production so configured, and is the only reason I invested.

Now well into its second hundred years, its a little odd to think of 9 mm Luger as a modern cartridge. Yet when you look at all the continuing development effort focused on Georg Lugers .355, theres simply no denying he must have gotten an awful lot of things right. Otherwise, wed have moved on as we have from so many other cartridges of the era.

On a turkey hunt near Newcastle, Nebraska last spring, Mark Wieseler and Brian Petzoldt hosted military veterans, a couple of whom had never been turkey hunting before. Unfamiliar with using a turkey call, the veterans watched and listened as Petzoldt, a Winside, Nebraska veteran, called out to attract the birds. By the end of the trip, the two rookie turkey hunters had not only tried the call themselves, but had become pretty good at it and were having a great time.
