When I first heard Ruger was introducing their Super Redhawk in 10mm Auto I thought Id misunderstood. After all, the Super Redhawk is a huge hunk of steel ideally geared for cartridges such as the .44 Mag. and .454 Casull. The massive frame and cylinder would engulf the 10mm Auto round. It appears Ruger was definitely thinking outside the box on this one. |

One of the longest-standing tropes surrounding the armed citizen lawfully defending themselves is armed/forceful defense of property. Texas statutes are frequently referenced though rarely directly cited! when it comes to this talking point.
What we dont want to do is rehash the same old stuff. Weve all been there; should you, shouldnt you, taking life (or potentially taking it) should only occur if a threat to life is being made vs its my stuff, etc.

Are firearms a danger to society or are they a benefit? Matters of degree are important since modern firearms both cost lives and save lives. I want to compare how our neighbors handle the guns in their safe with how they manage the drugs in their medicine cabinet.

Gun use is dramatically down on TV this fall but that may be mostly attributed to the recent Hollywood strikes, which led to the shutdown of virtually all film and TV productions this year, according to a new study. The report, Gun Smoke: An Analysis of How Labor Strikes May Have Impacted Network TV Gun Portrayals in Fall 2023, comes from the 14 members of the Project Unloaded Youth Council and Project Unloaded staff. Project Unloaded is a non-profit organization aiming to change the publics perception around gun safety to prevent gun violence.

The Biden administration's scheme to threaten the public with tightened gun-control regulations by reinterpreting laws to mean what they never meant in the past is running into some speed bumps. Stumbling over one of those obstacles is an attempt by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to define unfinished firearm frames and receiversfunctionally, paperweightsas firearms for the purpose of regulating homemade "ghost guns."

Common modern cartridges like the popular 9mm Luger and even the classic big-bore .45 ACP owe a lot to the older and far tinier Browning-designed .32 ACP. The little semi-rimmed cartridge helped pave the way for many of the semi-auto calibers we love today. This little round takes a lot of heat for being too small or underpowered in the world of 9mm +P, .45 ACP, and 10mm, but it actually has a very long history as a go-to self-defense caliber and military chambering. |
