About 15 years ago I purchased a Makarov, and I have fired it extensively since the Russian ammunition is easy to find. It is a very pleasant gun to shoot, and the relatively low recoil lets you make a fairly rapid double-tap. It is easily concealable, and I carry it often. The only negative I have experienced is that the sights are a little hard to see in reduced lighting. I believe this is an older-version Makarov since the factory-stamped serial number is very low (RM000246) It has a partially double-stack magazine which gives it a capacity of 10 rounds. It is the only Makarov I have seen with this magazine type; is it rare?

Two Kansans face up to a decade in prison for making and selling silencers without registering them with the federal government or paying the special taxes. They say it's allowed under state law. But a federal jury says it's illegal. |

WZVN News quoted one witness, identified as Shanta Holditch, who stated that the attacker pulled the deputy out of his patrol car, throwing him to the ground and punching him in all different directions. |

Before he went into the gun business, before he started buying assault-rifle manufacturers, before he expanded into scopes and silencers, before he rolled up 18 of Americas most lethal companies into a single conglomerate, before he funded a private military base, before the massacre, before the investor revolt, before the recalls and the product defects and the bad press and the lawsuits before any of that could happen Stephen Feinberg, the billionaire financier, had to perfect his shooting technique.

It's the kind of argument that emerges usually in the aftermath of a school shooting. State Representative Jesse Kremer plans to introduce a bill allowing guns in classrooms next year. He said it would allow licensed concealed carry holding private school teachers to have their gun in the classroom. The bill would give private schools the authority to make their own policy on guns in the classroom.

Recently when I was bouncing article ideas off of my good friend Kirk Stovall he said, Why not do one on the Storm? Showing off my great firearms knowledge I replied, Yeah that storm the other night was brutal. It left gullies in my driveway but its really not suitable for a gun magazine article.

What happens when someone whos not supposed to have a gun lies about their background and tries to buy one? In Washington state, the answer is not much. FBI records show that between January and August of this year, 3,259 would-be gun buyers in Washington failed a federal background check. But police and prosecutors rarely, if ever, pursue these people. |

A group of Detroit police officers executing a narcotics search warrant knocked on Nikita Smith's door on January 14, 2016. The only fact that both Smith and the officers agree on after that point is that, a short while later, Smith's three dogs were all shot dead.
What really happened in the moments between could be a costly question for the city of Detroit. In a federal civil rights lawsuit filed in May, Smith says the Detroit police executed her three pit bulls, Debo, Mama, and Smoke, without provocation. Essentially, they acted as a "dog death squad." |
