"Registration leads to confiscation. We all know that, and that is why GOA has vehemently opposed all attempts by government forces to compile or retain information pertaining to lawful firearms purchases."
"But in the name of fighting terrorism, the United States Congress is getting ready to trample on the rights of law-abiding Americans, no matter what the Constitution (and current law) happens to say."
"The House will be voting as early as this Friday (tomorrow) on the PATRIOT Act reauthorization bill (H.R. 3199). Congressmen have been ironing out differences in the House and Senate versions of the bill for quite some time, as GOA ... has watched carefully to see what the House-Senate conferees would produce."
"Well, the product stinks." ... |

"...In fact, if the latest detailed report of the National Safety Council is any indication, there are virtually no accidental shooting deaths taking place. There is no mention of them in the report. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada."
"That's great news. You would think it would be cause for celebration."
"So why the continuing, unrelenting pressure to promote trigger locks which will certainly result in the deaths of many innocent people who are unable to defend themselves because of a trigger lock? Why are those who buy firearms for protection now paying extra for trigger locks that could, if used, counteract the very purpose for which the weapon was obtained?" |

Why does hypocrisy from the Left continue to surprise people. They have long been the people of "do as I say, not as I do", and they have no qualms about it whatsoever because they're special and little people like us should try and understand that.

"Somehow, guns have become part of the culture of American sports. That doesn't mean the athletes are necessarily doing anything illegal or anything wrong. And this isn't about gun control or the Bill of Rights. But athletes apparently are becoming more and more well-armed, as part of a trend, and that often is leading to trouble." |

"San Franciscans have shown just how detached from reality is their socialist world view. Their vote to disarm themselves follows on the heels of the lesson that even Bill OReilly learned from Katrina. The popular Fox TV host, no gunslinger he, seems to have had an epiphany in the lawlessness (official and otherwise) in New Orleans."
"'Once I saw what happened in Hurricane Katrina,' OReilly opined. 'I said every American household should have a firearm. If there's a tremendous earthquake in San Francisco and looting, you don't want your family protected? You don't want a firearm in your house? You're living in the world of Oz.'" |

"Plaska, however, quickly learned Maxwell had broken no laws and had, in fact, been quite meticulous about making sure his shot was safe. It still didn't sit well with Plaska, who thought the law prevented someone from firing a high-powered rifle within a quarter-mile of a home." ...
