Authorities say a 19-year-old man was shot and killed after entering a woman's home in Marion, Arkansas.

According to the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office, ADT alarm company received a call early Sunday and made contact with an 80-year-old woman, who lives alone. The company called authorities in Marion and Crittenden County, who responded.

The woman told authorities the intruder entered her home forcefully and that she had ordered him to leave her home. She said she shot Cody Smith in self-defense after he advanced toward her.

DeAnthony Wiley claims he acted in self-defense when he shot and killed Jon Bieker, co-owner of Shes a Pistol, in January 2015.

Wiley, who was left paralyzed when he was shot during the robbery, also faces charges of conspiracy, attempt to commit aggravated robbery, and aggravated battery.

I used to hate guns, even giving money to anti-gun organizations.

Today I am a life member of the National Rife Association.

The tale of my transition from "we need reasonable regulation" to "out of my cold dead hands" is not meant to convert gun control advocates to gun rights supporters, because no one column will ever do that.

The final tally was 55-43, with just three Democrats joining every Republican to vote 'yes' on behalf of this highly qualified Trump nominee. In the past, 43 nays would have been sufficient to sustain a filibuster, but Harry Reid and friends nuked the minority's ability to hold up presidential nominations with their 2013 power grab -- which, in turn, was meant to overcome obstructionist tactics they themselves had pioneered under President Bush. "Moderate" Democrats like Montana's Jon Tester (who seems committed to ensuring an anti-Second Amendment judiciary) and North Dakota's Heidi Heitkamp voted against this mainstream female legal star, after fellow Democrats launched religiously-charged attacks against her.

One establishment had hung a photo of the president at the time, George W. Bush, with a black line printed across it. Everybody in the coffee shop was fine with that, says Hafer, who considers himself primarily a libertarian. I wasnt.

And so when Hafer launched the Black Rifle Coffee Company in Salt Lake City in 2014, the former Green Beret wanted it to be a place where he and others like him didnt feel discounted for their political views a place where he could combine his passion for guns and coffee while supporting veterans. The company is born from this very ignorant, progressive boutique coffee culture speaking from some sort of caffeinated authority, he says.

Far from looking at the radical Islamic convictions that underpinned Saipovs actions, the site instead looked at the steps one has to go through to get a rental truck and suggested getting a gun would be far easier. In making this point, the Independent failed to realize that they are basically arguing that the terrorist chose the path of most resistance instead of the path of least resistance and still succeeded.

Frankie McRae has a slightly different approach when he teaches self-defense with a gun at Raidon Tactics, which is based about 30 minutes north of Fort Bragg in N.C. His decades of experience in the U.S. Armyincluding as a Green Beret stationed at the U.S. Armys Special Operations Center of Excellenceshows, yet it quickly takes a back seat once the conversation turns to helping students survive a criminal attack.

Many U.S. colleges allow students to carry guns on campus and that number may grow.

Georgia recently passed legislation that allows with restrictions guns on public college campuses. Nearly a dozen states have similar laws.

In a spring 2017 U.S. News survey, 103 colleges and universities reported that they allow students to carry firearms in some capacity. Forty have concealed carry policies, meaning eligible students can possess handguns across most of campus if the weapons are hidden from view. The other schools have more restrictive policies.

Less than 60 seconds after it began, the Oct. 18 robbery of a Citgo gas station on Riverside Drive ended with a 15-year-old bystander shot in the abdomen and an errant bullet penetrating the front door of a nearby home before striking a TV set in an unoccupied living room.

One of the individuals who fired those bullets is being charged with a crime, while the other is not, though neither shot was fired by the actual robbery suspect, 26-year-old Joseph Soutullo.

It was a chain of events that local prosecutors have called convoluted, but the aftermath has Mobile police concerned about citizens who might take the law into their own hands as some residents seem confused about when its OK to defend themselves from a criminal with a gun.

A 55-year-old man who fatally shot his own son Sunday afternoon in Donelson, Tennessee, will not face charges, as reports indicate the man acted in self-defense.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. outside of Brentnol James residence just outside of Nashville. Authorities say James and his son, 18-year-old Kobe Hoyle, became engaged in an argument, but the argument eventually turned physical. At some point during the altercation, James shot Hoyle, who was pronounced dead at the scene. James, who was left with facial injuries, told police he believed Hoyle meant to rob him.

First the good news.

It appears as though the bump stock ban has stalled in Congress and that Republicans dont intend to the let the bill go forward. After weeks of weak-kneed politicians caving to gun grabbers, gun owners struck back with a flurry of pro-gun activism.

That activism appears to have led to the demise of Pelosis gun control scheme for now!

Even in Illinois, where gun control is failing miserably, the gun grabbers failed to get a foothold and their own version of a bump stock ban collapsed.

Were Bharadwajs policy proposal to become reality, there is little concrete evidence to believe that allowing firearms on college campuses a practice generally allowed in 10 states would reduce sexual assault rates. A report released at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School for Public Health found that allowing firearms on campus is no more effective in reducing victims risk of injury than other victim responses to attempted violent crimes.

Ed.: In no way does letting 1-2% of students carry firearms if they choose to constitute "generally allowed".

Congress has shown no sign of changing any gun laws, more than four weeks after the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas. With nearly 7 in 10 Americans saying Congress needs to do more to reduce gun violence, people are frustrated by the lack of movement on meaningful reform. But a major case pending before the Supreme Court could break the logjam even though the case has nothing to do with the Second Amendment.

Since we cannot disarm the criminals, I believe that trained, vetted, honest people deserve the opportunity to protect themselves. I did not feel burdened that, at 16 hours, Illinois requires the most concealed carry training of any state. I am appalled that Missouri does not even require a permit.

I think applicants should have to go through theshoot-dont shoot interactive video simulations used by police. Im a veteran of several such sessions that taught me more about use of deadly force than any 100 hours in a classroom.

Well, that was then, and it represented but a fraction of what an American can do with a Ghost Gunner 2 now. Since that time, Defense Distributed has added hardened spindles to their CNC machines and created new programs that allow the completion of 80 percent 1911 frames and more. The ability to build pistols is a testimony to the level of precision achievable with the Ghost Gunner 2.

On October 1, 201 7 almost a year to the date after first watching Cody use the Ghost Gunner 2 Breitbart News visited his factory in Texas and saw all the expanded capabilities firsthand. This included seeing AR-15s, AR308s, 1911s, and Glock handguns Cody and/or his Defense Distributed team were completing or had already been completed.

When are the gun control zealots going to admit that the problem were facing isnt guns, its violence, said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. While most Americans are alarmed and saddened by Tuesdays horrible events, the gun control crowd, including Mayor Bill de Blasio, hasnt immediately started screaming about truck violence or truck control.

Only when a firearm is used do these extremists focus on the weapon, he continued. Nobodys talking about banning trucks. There hasnt been a rush to the microphones to demand background checks for people who drive pickups. But if a gun had been this madmans weapon of choice, you would already be hearing shouts for more restrictions on the Second Amendment.

Three years ago, Mike graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he was a member of the UMass Gun Club. Now he works in logistics at a Fortune 500 company in Boston.

Hes lost count of how many guns he owns. His father, an immigrant from China, was always into guns and introduced his children to his hobby. Mike D.s sister is an even better shot than him.

Today he has six or seven guns with him, including a 1950 M1 Garand, a 1915 Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mark III, a 1943 No. 4 Mark I, a 2013 Colt 45 and a 1940 9 mm Luger. He also has boxes of bullets of varying size and strength. And one box of orange target disks for throwing into the air, marked Delicate As Eggs.

While these ties raised objections from Democrats concerned about whether she would be able to rule against Trump if faced with the issue on the Sixth Circuit, Larsen insisted during her nomination process she would not have any difficulty doing so.

Larsen said her inclusion on the Supreme Court short list was a complete surprise and that the administration never asked her about her views on abortion, contraception, the right to privacy, or the Second Amendment before choosing her for a nomination.

I would have no trouble ruling against the president who appointed me or any successor president as well, Larsen said at her nomination hearing.
