"But dont expect to see the opportunistic Sharpton turn down media exposure because he cares more about the liberty of his constituency than he does about self-promotion. Or for Commissioner Ray to turn down a chance at promulgating more of the meaningless babble that agenda-driven 'authorized journalists' like Debusmann seem to lap up..."

The Hermeler twins' interest in Columbine High School grew from their experience as victims of bullying, as suggested by their phone calls and 11-year-old letters to a Columbine survivor.
Kristin Hermeler, the 29-year-old sister who committed suicide Monday at an Arapahoe County gun range, called herself "someone who has been rejected, victimized and ostracized" in a letter to Columbine survivor Brooks Brown.
"I just wanted to write to you and let you know that not a day goes by that I do not think about what happened," she wrote in a letter dated July 14, 1999.
A month earlier she wrote, "I am completely shattered by what happened."

"This looks like nothing so much as a clumsy attempt at entrapment--if they can get him to acknowledge in writing that what he is doing constitutes manufacturing firearms, they'll be able to use that to obtain a warrant, do a raid and then characterize it to a jury as Celata's 'admission/confession.'"

A beekeeper in Loveland is recovering after he accidentally shot himself with a booby trap shotgun in a box, deputies said.
John Frost was shot in the hand and leg Nov. 4, according to an incident report filed by a Larimer County sheriff's deputy.
Frost told investigators a bear had knocked over his beehive the day before and ate some of his honey. Frost said he was cleaning his gun in case the bear came back.
A deputy at Frost's home said he found a suspicious-looking box with what appeared to be a trip wire near the beehive. The deputy said it appeared a bear would trip the wire and the device would go off.
The Division of Wildlife investigated the shooting, but decided not to press charges, according to the incident report.

The best way to describe a CT Brian gun is radical traditional. He does a very aggressive de-horning to the bottom of the slide, which results in an almost beveled edge.
That and the frenched borders set off a flat, square, perfectly buffed slide flat, with scalloped edges to the cocking serrations.
On top, a detail of the top flat serrations that might pass unnoticed at the first viewing: he does interrupted line patterns in the serrations. The resulting pattern forms three arrows, pointing towards the muzzle, to help direct your eye to the front sight.

We must make it absolutely clear that, under no circumstances, will we give up the right and responsibility to bear arms. The fundamental reason the Second Amendment was created was to ensure the ability of the people to dispose of a government that abuses its authority, as our government is now doing.

We should consider and plan for the creation of militias to deal with abusive government and with the problems government refuses to face. These are rights retained by the people.

The people who made it happen are members of a collection of tea party, Constitution-focused, gun rights and abortion opponent groups separate from Walshs formal campaign.

Collectively, they totaled more than a thousand volunteers sharing the hard work of soliciting voters door to door and at rallies, parades and special events.

The governor's logic also seems to fly in the face of the Pennsylvania Constitution.

Section 21 of the continuation's [sic] Declaration of Rights states: "The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned."

But under current law and the governor's reasoning, the right to bear arms to defend oneself is being questioned.

My husband and I just figured out that my husband could probably bring home his new young girlfriend and then shoot me and claim that I was a threat to him. I could do the same, only I've learned nothing about guns other than they are heavy and make a lot of noise.

When Craig Steele of Pueblo wrote a concerned letter to President Barack Obama last year regarding his Second Amendment rights, he didn't really expect a response.

When he got two handwritten sentences on presidential stationery, he was thrilled.

"I was real happy to get a response first of all, but also to know that he agreed with me about the Second Amendment," Steele said. "I was impressed."

The brief response reads: "I believe in the 2nd amendment and the rights of sportsmen like you. Period."

I saw in an article in the Advertiser that a car dealership in Florida is giving away AK-47s with every truck sold. This outrages me.

Why doesn't someone question where and how he is able to amass AK-47s and give them away? Why not give a rebate on a vehicle?

Melchoir Fordney, killed in 1843 by an ax-wielding Baptist, was a celebrated gunmaker before his untimely end.

He built Kentucky flintlock rifles in Pennsylvania, rifles with elaborate engravings and brass inlays. And he built them one at a time.

You didn't mass produce the guns, Bill Madden said of that era of gunmaking, unless you had a government contract.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
To prohibit a citizen from wearing or carrying a war arm . . . is an unwarranted restriction upon the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of constitutional privilege. [Wilson v. State, 33 Ark. 557, at 560, 34 Am. Rep. 52, at 54 (1878)]
