It was a productive weekend for Oak Harbors Lauren Crossley and the Sabertooth Shooting Squad.

Crossley signed a letter of intent to shoot for Division I North Carolina State University Friday, Nov. 15, and the next day she helped the Sabertooth Shooting Squad precision team win the Washington State Civilian Marksmanship Program Three Position Air Rifle Championships by taking first in the individual standings.

The state championship was staged in three locations (Puyallup, Vancouver and Spokane), and scores were compared to determine the winner.

Crossley wasnt the only star to shine bright for the Sabertooth Shooting Squad coached by Dave Goodman.

A successful firearms deer season for some Michigan hunters is leading to another kind of success this fall: A potentially record-setting amount of donations of both venison and money to help feed families in need.

With less than a week left in firearms deer season, estimates suggest that hunters are on track to donate more than $100,000 and 58,000 pounds of venison -- translating to some 232,000 meals -- to Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger. The nonprofit, all-volunteer program seeks to prevent hunger by facilitating meat distribution between deer hunters, meat processors, food pantries and homeless shelters.

federal judge on Wednesday allowed the National Rifle Association (NRA) to proceed with a lawsuit challenging Florida's new minimum-age gun purchase rules after the organization abandoned its attempt to include anonymous plaintiffs.

U.S. District Court Judge Mark Walker put the case on hold last year until an appellate court was set to weigh in about the propriety of using anonymous plaintiffs. In mid-November, the NRA signaled a desire to pursue a more expedient avenue, asking the court of appeals to toss the group's objection while it filed a new complaint with a named plaintiff.

Dianna Muller lost count of how many times she responded to chillingly desperate calls for help during her 22 years as a police officer in Tulsa, Okla. The crime scenes she worked taught her that people need their right to bear arms. I dont wish for anyone to be defenseless, Muller told the NRA. I would like for everyone to be prepared to be their own first responder.

This is a message shes been bringing to the nations capital.

Take a minute the next time you are downtown or at the shopping mall, and notice how close people stand to each other when they are talking. We even allow total strangers to stand that close to use during a conversation. Usually, there is only a couple of feet distance between two people. Now imagine what happens when that conversation turns into a criminal attack.

Nowhere was this more evident than earlier this year when anti-gun advocates and members of Congress worked to pass two anti-gun bills through the U.S. House of Representatives. That fight involved what gun-control supporters frequently claim is the most reasonable of all gun-control lawsH.R. 8, the so-called universal background check bill.

However, as we pointed out at the time, there was nothing reasonable about a bill that would turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals for harmless conduct, while doing nothing to stop violent criminals who actually are responsible for the crimes often used to justify such laws.

In recent weeks, gun owners have been given two prime examples of just how important strong firearms preemption laws are to the vibrant exercise of Second Amendment rights.

On October 22, the Montana Supreme Court struck down a Missoula ordinance that purported to restrict city residents ability to transfer firearms. On October 29, Allegheny County Common Pleas Senior Judge Joseph M. James struck down a raft of Pittsburgh ordinances that purported to regulate the use of firearms in public places within the city and provide for the confiscation of firearms without due process. In both instances, the tribunals pointed to the state firearms preemption statute as precluding the localitys anti-gun efforts.

Enter Sen. Elizabeth Warrens (D-Mass.) Protecting Our Communities from Gun Violence plan. As this was being written, this was one of 59 plans she had on her websiteWarren certainly does have a plan designed to control every facet of your life.

As Warren includes just about every gun-control infringement on your rights now being talked about on the left in her plan, this list of her most-egregious duplicities related to your right to keep and bear arms is admittedly subjective, but it is a taste of all she would like to do.

The Race threw a dart at a map and it sent us to Hardin, Montana population: 3,800.

We stopped in the Lariat Country Kitchen, where it didnt take long to find strong opinions on gun laws.

I have quite a few guns and I support the Second Amendment ya know, wholly, said Ron Nedens, the first person we approached. I would not readily give up my guns for anything.

Suburban women are expected to play a pivotal role in the 2020 elections, which is why a lot of political groups are attempting to appeal to them. One of Bloombergs groups, Moms Demand Action, is styled to fool voters into thinking their extreme beliefs are representative of all suburban moms. And earlier this month in Virginia, this billionaire-funded group spent an enormous amount of money to flip a few seats and win a thin, anti-gun majority in the state legislature. Pro-gun suburban women in Virginia were outraged by the misleading campaign. We spoke with one, NRA member Megan Boland, who says the tactics employed by anti-gun groups in Virginia should serve as a cautionary tale to pro-gun suburban women across the country.
