Whole story follows; An Alabama lawmaker is again pushing legislation that would let employees take handguns to work.
The Montgomery Advertiser reported Friday that state Sen. Roger Bedford, D-Russellville, said the bill is aimed at increasing personal safety.
I think its necessary so people will have peace of mind when theyre traveling to and from work, he said.
A similar bill has been introduced twice before, but it failed despite support from the National Rifle Association.
The Business Council of Alabama opposes the measure, said President Bill Canary.

A Dallas trucker imprisoned for seven months in Mexico on accusations that he tried to smuggle assault rifle ammunition into the country broke down in tears Friday when he returned to the U.S., saying he had at times given up hope.
Jabin Bogan maintains he was on his way to Phoenix to deliver the ammunition in April when he took a wrong highway exit and accidentally crossed the border into Mexico. Despite his insistence it was an honest mistake, the 27-year-old was arrested and taken to a Mexican maximum security prison.
During his trial, Mexican customs agents contradicted prosecutors' claim that Bogan had 268,000 bullets hidden under the floorboards of his 18-wheeler's trailer when he was arrested. |

This Black Friday marked a personal first for me. I actually stood in line, in the cold, just to be one of the first shoppers allowed into a store when it opened at Midnight.
So what was I after? The only thing that could have convinced me to engage in what I had always characterized as silly behavior was of course cheap guns!
This was not a local phenomenon either. Similar reports are coming in from all across the country. Colorado reported doing over 4,000 background checks on Black Friday while the number in California was reportedly over 10,000. I suspect that when all the numbers are finally in, this Black Friday will break all previous records for gun sales ... |

Second Amendment: A House resolution, as futile as it may be, represents growing opposition to another administration bow to the U.N. encroachment on U.S. sovereignty at the expense of its laws and even our Constitution.
Treaties are ratified by a two-thirds majority of the Senate, and the final version of the U.N.'s Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) may likely be signed by this president and ratified by this Senate, especially if presented as a "sensible restriction" on international arms trafficking with no impact on our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

We will mark the forty-fifth year of the Gun Control Act of 1968 next year. Since then we have had forced upon us various other unconstitutional restrictions -- Brady, the "Assault Weapons Ban," Lautenberg, etc. -- each giving more power to (and encouraging more misadventures from) the agency created to enforce those laws -- the ATF. But what has been the practical effect of these restrictions, apart from the lives ruined and people killed in their name? |

Whether you like it or not, firearms sales have been moving way up the past few years, meanwhile crime has been on a downward trend in Virginia.
So, are the two statistics correlated?
"I think that kinda shows that maybe the systems working. These bad elements, they're not able to come into a gun store and purchase a firearm because there are checks and balances put in place that are going to eliminate that," said Michael Brookman, owner of Albemarle County Firearms. |

The Obama Administration is finding quite a bit of resistance to its recent vote in the United Nations to move forward with negotiating the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT)
Rep. Joe Barton (R-Tex.) and 75 of his colleagues, seeking to preserve national sovereignty and Second Amendment rights, introduced House Resolution 814, containing three-and-one-half pages of objections to UN control of arms, specifically pointing out that the ATT would place all nations, rogue or free, on an equal footing, and create an international secretariat to implement and administer rules which would be outside the control of the people of the United States. |

Oh, both candidates had five-point plans about almost everything, all right. Everything except guns. It amounted to a silence from lambs, afraid to say anything about guns that might offend the National Rifle Association, and the lobbyists who are no better than high-paid gun thugs. The only big politician who goes up against the NRA is Michael Bloomberg, who put up his own money to back candidates running against NRA candidates in races all across the country. |

Bill Canary, President of the Business Council of Alabama, told the Montgomery Advertiser: At a time when the business community in all sectors should be focused on creating jobs, we instead are dealing with this unnecessary legislation which erodes the constitutional property rights of businesses. Alabama businesses are already struggling with burdensome regulations that impact productivity and increase costs.

Prototypes of what would be the world's first fully 3D-printable plastic weapon could go into testing before the end of the year, the organization behind the controversial project has claimed.
"We're ready," said Cody Wilson, a spokesman for Defense Distributed, the company that hopes to manufacture the "Wiki Weapon". "We're sitting on the logistics, time, resources and money. We're just waiting on a little piece of paper."
That little piece of paper is a federal firearms license , the permit that is needed to legally make and manufacture firearms in the United States. Barring an unexpected issue, Wilson expects the license will be granted within the next two or three weeks. |

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) on Monday detailed the crimes that have been committed by members of Mr. Bloombergs gang, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG). In its research, SAF found a significantly higher rate of felonious activity among the mayors who teamed up with hizzoner than among the 8 million citizens who are licensed to carry concealed firearms.
If Mayor Bloomberg wants to align himself with this criminal element of mayors to push for gun control, we think the public should know about it, SAF Founder Alan M. Gottlieb told The Washington Times in an interview. |

Now Obama's doing the same thing with gun control. On one hand, we have the administration telling us they are committed to protecting our Second Amendment rights; while on the other hand, the president is joining alliances with UN gun grabbers by giving them the green light for the ATT. In the real world, presidents work in conjunction with Congress to pass laws, but in Obama Land anything goes. |

After the film I was incredibly interested in how this plain endorsement of patriotism and Americanism had affected my guests. When we got back to my truck, I began to grill them for details. E's first question was, "does everyone in America own a gun?" I laughed, explained our Second Amendment and said that in our country we had fought tyranny and now preferred for the power to be in the people's hands rather than with the government. I asked F what his favorite part of the film was and he responded, "I liked that they fight." |

Michael Hill has been stockpiling guns and ammunition for almost a decade.
But he's not done -- not since President Barack Obama was re-elected this month.
In a continuing trend that alarms gun control proponents, Hill and thousands of other Americans are buying up ammo, handguns and other firearms, citing concerns that Obama might push new regulations in his second term or that U.N. agreements might infringe on the U.S. gun market. |

Gun violence must be treated as a public-health issue such as alcohol, smoking and traffic say people concerned about gun-related death rates from mass shootings and random shots nationwide.
"Guns are where tobacco was in the 1950s," said Garen Wintemute, director of the Violence Prevention Research Program, who practices emergency medicine at the University of California at Davis School of Medicine. "There's a little bit of science and a great deal of reluctance to do anything with the results." |

In an era where the AR-15 is the best selling gun in the USA, the shotgun seems to have taken the back seat for both home defense and law enforcement duties. This is unfortunate, as the shotgun offers a lot of advantages to armed citizens and police officers alike.
Pump shotguns tend to be very reliable and easy to use in stressful conditions. Should you ever need to use a firearm in defense of yourself or another, reliability and ease of use are significant benefits. |

Police said the 17-year-old who was shot during the melee went after that woman with a knife, so she pulled out a gun and shot him in the stomach. A private car dropped him off at Aria Healths Torresdale hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Cops said the rest of the pack who broke into the house took off in a gold vehicle. The 26-year-old man whod been in the house at the time of the incident was bitten several times on his back and suffered lacerations to his face and body, cops said. Police did not report injuries to the woman or the other man who were attacked.
The woman will not be charged in the incident, as she acted in self-defense, authorities said. |

Robert Gunn's prediction about firearm sales if President Barack Obama got a second term was as blunt as the collection of his snub-nose 38s beneath the glass counter for sale: If the president's popularity held, so would record high gun sales, the Ocala Armory gun shop salesman said.
Gunn was right.
On Election Day this year, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducted 2,227 background checks, up from 1,553 on the same Tuesday in 2011. |

Recently, the city amassed a small arsenal of weapons when it held its first gun buyback program at the Citizens Center. Police said residents turned in 24 handguns, 15 rifles and shotguns, 15 non-working guns, about 200 rounds of ammunition, including some armor-piercing bullets, as well as a Vietnam War-era hand grenade that was turned into the state police for destruction. A few pellet rifles were turned in as well. |
