Its essential to note that the shooter was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force for assaulting his wife and child, and due to this, it is illegal for him to have a gun.
Huh. What a shock. A criminal who broke the law (by lying on his background check) and got a gun.
Let me just emphasize that the shooter circumvented our existing gun laws and got a gun anyway.
Because people who are going to commit a crime like shooting 46 people do not worry about silly things like lying on a background check. |

Gun Control failed again. Despite our 23 thousand firearms regulations, a murderer entered a Texas church and killed 26 people. Dozens more are injured. Gun control failed..until it didnt.
Many gun owners think that real gun control means having a gun ready and being proficient with it. This is where this second kind of gun control then saved lives.
A neighbor who lives next to the church heard the gunfire. He grabbed his rifle, a gun similar to the gun the murder used. The neighbor, Stephen Willeford, then shot the murderer several times.
The anti-gun politicians would disarm both the murderer and the defender.

Gun owners with extra training could carry concealed weapons in traditionally weapon-free places like schools and bars under legislation approved by the Senate Government Operations Committee along partisan lines on Tuesday.
"The highest-trained gun owners, to be able to defend themselves and others, I think that's a good thing," said Senate Majority Leader and bill sponsor Arlan Meekhof, R-West Olive.
Senate Bills 584-586 allow people with concealed weapons permits to - with additional training - get permission to carry concealed weapons in traditionally pistol-free zones like schools, day care centers, stadiums, churches and college dorms.
The bills could come up for a vote before the full Senate as soon as tomorrow... |

UPDATED: Emerging details of the tragic church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas are destroying the narrative of the gun prohibition lobby, from the background of the armed citizen who intervened to the reason the killer was able to purchase firearms at retail.
If this leads to the story quickly fading into the background, it will simply reinforce the opinion among many middle Americans that the press has a distinct bias against conservatives, gun owners and the National Rifle Association. |

IN THE AFTERMATH of the massacre of 26 people in a small-town Texas church, you might have seen that the killer used a gun called an AR-15. Its a popular weaponrelatively easy to use, endlessly customizable, military in appearance. How popular? Its the same gun that a killer used in the massacre of 58 people at a Las Vegas concert last month, and by the killer who murdered 49 people in a nightclub in Orlando, and the one at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. And the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. And the party in San Bernardino, California.

Recently, Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-CT) introduced H.R. 4052, a ban on what she is calling large capacity ammunition feeding devices. Estys bill would ban any magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition . It exempts firearms with an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition. Mere possession, as well as import or transfer, would be prohibited by the bill.

Republican Second Amendment absolutists have decided to do their best imitation of "snowflakes" (the derogatory term referring to those who need "safe spaces" and the like to avoid soul-crushing offenses). They have decided to feign offense at Democrats who have had enough of the hypocrisy in the wake of mass shootings. The topic is the hollow "thoughts and prayers" Republicans offer up in lieu of responsible legislative action. |

An Easton man is charged with lying when he purchased guns from Northampton County firearms dealers last year, allegedly certifying he was buying them for himself when he was planning to give them to others. Nico Trevorsaya Braden, 28, was indicted Tuesday on three counts of making false statements to a federally licensed firearms dealer. Regulations for federally licensed firearms dealers require buyers to certify they are not acquiring guns on behalf of another person, according to the indictment. |

Slide Fire, the tiny Texas maker of the "bump stock" the assault weapon add-on that drew scrutiny following the Las Vegas mass shooting has resumed some sales, the company said on its website. After bump stocks were found in gunman Stephen Paddock's hotel room, Slide Fire's owner, Jeremiah Cottle, suspended shipments of the device. Bump stocks, which many consumers had not heard of before the Las Vegas shooting, make semi-automatic weapons fire at speeds similar to an automatic weapon. |

Im often amused at the raging debates over what home-defense shotgun is the most reliable, pump vs. semis, Inertia vs. gas, and blah blah blah. Fact is, nearly all shotguns of decent quality are ultra-reliable if kept clean and well-oiled. Therefore, one could argue that the cleanliness of your defensive shotgun is more important than any load or choke you choose. Even some of the notoriously unreliable shotguns are only unreliable after theyve been dragged around a dove field or a range for years without so much as a whisper of oil ever touching their guts. Plenty of times when folks talk about unreliable guns, theyre talking about dirty ones. |

Second story- Someone rings your doorbell at 8 in the morning. A stranger forces his way inside as you open the door.
Third story- You looked through the porch windows to see four young men wearing hoodies and carrying backpacks. They are standing right outside your door.

Terrorism: the purposeful violence against civilians, non-combatants, with the intent to create and foster social fear. One gun violence massacre after another has certainly created the fear that our families and children are not safe in their schools, our theatres, our concerts, and even in our churches. On Sunday in Sutherland Springs, Texas, 26 people were murdered while they were worshipping and praying. The victims spanned three generations, from an 18-month-old to a 72-year-old, a pregnant woman and her child, and more than a dozen children, including the 14-year-old daughter of the churchs pastor. Sunday morning indeed struck fear into hearts across America. |

Republican lawmakers are renewing their attempt to let gun owners carry their weapons inside Michigan schools, day care centers and other gun-free zones.
Fast-tracked legislation up for a vote in a Senate committee Tuesday would allow concealed pistol license holders with extra training to carry in nine areas that are currently off limits. The full Republican-led Senate plans to vote Wednesday on the bill that is opposed by gun-control advocates and others.
The legislative action will come days after a gunman killed 26 people at a Texas church.
The bill is expected to be changed to close a legal loophole that currently lets CPL holders openly carry in gun-free zones.

Massachusetts has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation but that does not mean everyone in the state is against guns. At the Boston Firearm Training Center, another mass shooting means more business. Another one again, so Im going to get busy again because when people get scared, they want to be able to protect themselves, explained owner Tom Cheffro. |

After a gunman used an assault weapon to kill more than two dozen parishioners in a Texas church, just weeks after the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, President Donald Trump declared it was too soon to talk about guns. House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said it was time for prayers, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., offered condolences. Advocates for stronger gun laws, in turn, urged Congress to find the courage to stand up to the gun lobby. |
