"Today's hearing on Operation Fast and Furious before the Senate Judiciary Committee once again provided an opportunity for two leading Senate gun prohibitionists to try spreading the blame for botched gun trafficking, and change the debate to arguments for more gun control, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said."

"The committee questioned Attorney General Eric Holder for two hours on Fast and Furious, and other Justice Department issues. But it was about the seriously mishandled gun trafficking investigation where committee partisans tried their bait-and-switch routine, CCRKBA said." ...

... "What I found most objectionable about the entire exchangebesides the fools in the audience cheering on Wagner and Maher, was Blue Collar Comedian Bill Engvall deciding our rights are his to compromise. He started out OK, reminding the panel that criminals would be the ones with guns and that people have a right to protect themselves, but he quickly and unnecessarily devolved into 'sporting purposes':" ...

"'But wait,' readers might ask, 'what about 'Project Gunwalker'? Is it not scandalous that our own government armed the most brutal criminals in North America, contributing to the deaths of at least two federal agents, and hundreds of Mexicans?'" ...

"What do you get when you put an MSNBC analyst on Bill Maher's HBO program?"

"Last Friday, it was disdain for the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms."

"Alex Wagner, MSNBC analyst and writer for the Huffington Post, told Maher she would get rid of the Second Amendment that guarantees the right to keep and bear arms."

"According to Wagner, the Second Amendment is not on par with the others, and she seems to think it provides a Constitutional 'right to kill.'" ...

"Last Friday, on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher said he thought we needed a 'page one rewrite' of the Constitution, and asked his guests which parts of the Constitution they would like to see removed. ..." ...

"Now that Ms. Wagner has appointed herself the authority on what rights take precedence over others, she'll just tell us what Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human rights we ought to give up, 'for the greater good.' It is interesting that Wagner at least acknowledges that the right of individuals to keep and bear arms is indeed guaranteed by the Second Amendment. The 'collective right' interpretation is truly being consigned to the dustbin of embarrassing history." ...

"At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last week, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) once again defended ATF actions in Operation Fast and Furious while claiming, erroneously, that 70 percent of guns seized in Mexico were traced to the United States."

"'The number of deaths caused by American guns are up in the tens of thousands,' she said, blaming U.S. gun laws for cartel-related violence in Mexico, and pushing for new regulations on law-abiding firearm retailers and purchasers." ...

"Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer admitted one week ago in this room that the departments letter to me in February was absolutely false. Think about that for a second. Criticism is mild at best and comes mainly from those demanding 100% ideological purity. Among the charges: 1) He's a Mormon. Hopefully we are beyond that. Remember Jimmy Carter?
