A customer who walked into a robbery happening at a Philadelphia takeout restaurant shot and killed the armed suspect and will likely not face charges, authorities said.

Police said three employees were inside the Wingstop when a 53-year-old man walked in wearing a mask and gloves around 10:30 p.m. The suspect allegedly pointed a gun at them and demanded the employees hand over the money from the cash register drawer.

The suspect then turned and pointed his firearm at the customer, demanding he turn over his cell phone.

Submitter's note: One can only wonder how many crimes this 53 year old miscreant has committed in the past, and how many he won't commit in the future because of the actions of this law abiding citizen.

Chicago has hit a milestone, racking up more homicides so far in 2020 than all but two states did in 2019, according to the FBI Uniform Crime Report for last year.

Only California (1,679) and Texas (1,379) racked up more murders in all of 2019 than Chicago has logged over the past 11 months. With 31 days remaining, the Windy City could maintain that pace. Data for 2020 will not be available until late September 2021, when the FBI traditionally issues its Uniform Crime Report for the previous year.

Lately, we have noted what the stakes for the Georgia runoff elections include, both on the legislative front and in terms of secondary issues. Much of this has focused on various adverse actions or consequences of anti-Second Amendment extremism that they would be preventing. But there is also good stuff that a Senate controlled by Second Amendment supporters could do, even if Biden is president.

Chat with Colorado Congresswoman-elect Lauren Boebert, the gun-toting restaurant owner who famously told gun-grabber Beto ORourke Hell, no, you wont take our guns, and you might imagine Capitol Hill Democrats frantically yelling, Incoming! Speaking via telephone to AmmoLand, the feisty 33-year-old mother of four who describes her Western Slope neighbors and constituents as a bunch of rugged individuals full of grit and determination, made it clear she will not back down from a Second Amendment battle.

History of 7.5x55mm Swiss Ammo

Eduard Rubin, a Swiss Army Lieutenant Colonel, designed the 7.5x55mm Swiss cartridge in 1889. The Swiss military was using a 10.4x38mm rimfire rifle at the time, and the 7.5x55 Swiss used a bullet with a smaller diameter (.304 inches) and was among the first cartridges to investigate the idea of firing smaller and lighter bullets at high velocity. This cartridge was chambered in the Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889 rifle, which the Swiss Army adopted for service in 1889. An interesting fact about the cartridge is that the bullet, configured as a steel-capped round nose and weighing 211 grains, used a paper patch. This was common at the time, and increased the time required for manufacturing.

Music loversespecially those in the Southknow the Marshall Tucker Band for their definitive blend of rock, rhythm & blues, jazz, country and gospel. Lead singer Doug Gray and the band influenced major country acts like Alabama, Confederate Railroad and Travis Tritt and developed a 50-year friendship with NRA Life member Charlie Daniels. In fact, the Marshall Tucker Band was slated to tour with the Charlie Daniels Band in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic derailed those plans. Having earned the rank of an Army sergeant E-5 in Vietnam, Gray is quick to honor and recognize fellow veterans and understands the importance of the Second Amendment. Gray recently answered a few questions for NRA Countrys Vanessa Shahidi.

In his new book, Revolver, Jim Rasenberger uses sweeping prose to tell the story of Samuel Colt and his quest to bring his idea for a revolving firearm to market. The author also effectively makes the connection between Colt and mass production vis--vis Sam Walker and Eli Whitney, Jr., acknowledging that it was the manufacture of firearms in 1847 that helped make American industry the giant it would eventually become.

Geese look big at the edge of range. They look huge up close. I waited for huge, and then hung on a couple seconds more until the four geese began to backpedal. I raised the 20-gauge M2, and two of the 12-pound giants folded just as hard as if Id shot them with a 12.

Ive had the pleasure of chatting with Bill Ruger and his sons Tom and Bill Ruger at the legendary Ruger parties at the SHOT Show in years past. These intimate gatherings in a Ruger suite showed me one thing for sure Mr. Ruger Senior ran the show with an iron fist. Period. Affordable, reliable, traditional designs geared to the everyman hunter or shooter was always his goal, and every resource of the company appeared dedicated to the cause. He accomplished his goal then and they still do today but have opened new doors.

Its good to go out on top, and Ed Stack should know. Stack announced he will retire as CEO of Dicks Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS) in February, after 36 years at the helm. His father was the eponymous Dick. But when Ed joined the chain it had just two stores. Now it has 850 and DKS stock is trading near a record. The company recently reported net income of $177 million, $1.84 per share fully diluted, on revenue of $2.4 billion for the quarter ending in October. The whisper number on earnings had been just $1.55 per share. Shares jumped from $56 before earnings to $58 on Nov. 25.

--------------------------------

Submitter's note: He seems to be fleeing the ship while the gettin's good, (and definitely not leaving the company in good hands) because the geniuses buying overpriced "fitness" equipment because of covid (the only reason DKS stock is up) won't last much longer. Him destroying all those ARs, after paying for them, actually helped the manufacturers by removing them from the marketplace.

In this old military film from the 1950s, we see the naval gun factory in Washington, D.C. which was at the time the largest Naval armament in the world." The 14-minute movie was made by the United States Navy to show off the naval gun factory, and its pretty cool. The factory itself takes up 125 acres with 200 buildings, containing everything from offices to forges, and both heavy and light machine shops.

Mark Muller, president of Max Motors, recently showed us his "fanciest" gun-- a Colt 45 Single Action Army with real ivory grips. It's a factory case-hardened engraved third-generation SAA with a 7.5-inch barrel. It was likely manufactured in 1978-79, and less than 500 were made. As it was produced before the sale of ivory was banned in the US in 1989, the grips were done at the factory.

Wisconsin-based Henry Repeating Arms announced last week that 2021 will be a year of big changes for the company that will see most models transition to side-loading gates along with some new additions to its catalog. Calling the traditional removable tube magazine "a core part of our product DNA," Anthony Imperato, Henry's president said that feature will remain the same on both its new lever guns as will legacy offerings slab-sided classic brass and octagon barrel configurations. However, the side-loading gate, recently introduced, has proved to be so well-liked that it will be the new standard for just about everything else.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The supposed quietude of a good mans allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside...Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them... Thomas Paine, I Writings of Thomas Paine at 56 (1894).
