"The anti-gun groups website notes it was founded 'in memory of ... Torrey Donnell Manuel, who lost his life due to a senseless act of violence.' Further explanations on the circumstances of that act are not provided, nor is any further clarifying information apparent from search engine results. Co-founder Angela Williams maintains 'she also lost 13 additional family members to gun violence in Palm Beach County, Florida.'

Seconds later, the cop freaks out and throws the mans protest sign to the ground and illegally seized his weapon, without the mans consent.

You are going to jail for failure to ID because you cant tell me who you are, you cant prove who you are. Im tired of you idiots coming out here, the crazed cop said.

Once the officer realized that he was being filmed, he sobered up a little bit.

Take the phone off now because we are going to erase it because youre recording everything, the deranged officer said.

Banning drones wont solve the problem

Beyond the technical issues, we need to debate what is socially acceptable and to create legal frameworks. Should the cameras of delivery drones be recording and saving all video footage as they enter into the airspace of a customers home? For that matter, should drones be allowed to fly over private property at all or should they be limited to public roads between droneports? Should we have the right to shoot down unauthorized drones on our property? If the Second Amendment grants the right of gun ownership to individuals for self-defense, does it allow them to fly their own defensive drones?

Carlos told police Rube began yelling and cursing at him before raising his hands, leading Carlos to believe he had a gun, Dagate said. Carlos reported the shooting at 3:15 a.m.

Perhaps most remarkable is the shift in attitudes among African-Americans during that time. According to Pew:

Over the past two years, blacks views on this measure have changed dramatically. Currently, 54% of blacks say gun ownership does more to protect people than endanger personal safety, nearly double the percentage saying this in December 2012 (29%). By contrast, whites views have shown less change: 62% now view guns as doing more to protect people, up from 54% in December.

Judges on the Missouri Supreme Court appeared skeptical Tuesday as an attorney for a convicted drug dealer argued that a new state constitutional amendment should allow nonviolent felons to carry guns.

The judges are considering how to interpret an amendment approved by voters in August that enhanced the state's existing right to keep and bear arms. The measure makes gun-control restrictions subject to strict legal scrutiny, but adds that it shouldn't be construed to prevent laws limiting the gun rights of "convicted violent felons."

An Ohio bill that relaxes some requirements to obtain concealed carry permits cleared the state Senate on Tuesday after a legislative panel scrapped other proposed changes to the states weapons laws.

The gun measure also would allow hunters to use noise suppressors on their guns under certain conditions. The idea, which passed the House earlier this year, would let licensed hunters use the noise suppressors while hunting certain birds and other wild game, including squirrels, rabbits and white-tailed deer.

Senators passed the broad legislation on a 24-6 vote as they sought to finish their work this week.

I asked the officer what would happen next. He said, now, you wait. Chief Lanier has 90 days to decide whether or not I get a gun carry permit.

Meanwhile, Washington's whole new licensing scheme is being challenged in federal court. The group who sued the city to get the right to carry has asked that the city be held in contempt of court for writing a law they believe is still unconstitutional.

The city responded last week that the new law adhered to the ruling and is compliant with the Second Amendment. Judge Frederick Scullin will decide on that matter soon.

Of particular concern to many is the use to Operation Choke Point to destroy firearms dealers. Gun control has become increasingly unpopular in recent decades, making anti-Second Amendment legislation politically untenable. Its proponents have consequently turned to tactics beyond the ballot box, such as using the judicial system and suing firearms manufacturers and, now, using the bureaucratic system to regulate its retailers into oblivion. As the Blaze wrote of the HOGRCs findings:

In the case of gun dealers, Issas committee found that the FDIC in some cases reached memorandums of understanding with banks that explicitly prohibited them from dealing with these companies.

A Florida lawmaker has filed a bill that would allow people to carry concealed weapons on the campuses of state colleges and universities.

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Sarasota, said he already planned to sponsor the measure (HB 4005) before a shooting incident last month at Florida State University but that the attack, which left three people injured and the gunman dead, helps to make his point. The bill, filed Monday, would apply to people who are licensed to carry concealed weapons.

The subject of the editorial tends to lean to the use of firearms/deadly force by one citizen toward another in the commission of a crime. That is an unintended benefit of the Second Amendment in todays world.

The No. 1 reason behind the Second Amendment was not to necessarily defend ourselves from one another, yet that we be able to defend ourselves from an out-of-control, tyrannical government such as we have firmly embedded ourselves with at present.

Despite pouring millions into the midterm elections, Texas Democrats faced a shellacking at the ballot box. And now Texas gun advocates and legislators are looking to capitalize on that Republican mandate.

Rick Perry's successor in the governor's mansion, Attorney General Greg Abbott, has expressed support for the Open Carry legislation, which is already the subject of at least five bills.
